Take a gander at my Home for (well, not-so-imaginary) adoptables. Adoptable characters and NPCs from the life Balfour Spectre, each who are related to the wizard by blood or profession. They all have negotiable backstories - so PM me if you're interested in knowing more about anyone. These characters exist as NPCs but have not been thoroughly written into any plots, and are up for adoption. Their backstories are negotiable. Please PM Balfour's account if you are interested in anyone.Carmichael "Carr" Rosier Unspeakable - 37 years oldHusband of Nathaira Spectre. Balfour's brother-in-law.Ravenclaw Alumnus History. One of the saner, less fickle Rosier boys. Carmichael Rosier has always been considered a polite (if somewhat innocuous) gentleman wizard. Nobody pays much mind to his harmless ways - although some do wonder what lays beneath those garden variety mannerisms, considering his occupation as an Unspeakable. Nathaira met Carr when he was charged with acquiring a Hippogriff from the Spectre farm. They get along as both enamoured lovers and dear friends. Recommended PB is Matthew Goode.Vincent Fournier Dragon Tamer - 34 to 37 years oldColleague and Friend to Balfour SpectreGryffindor Alumnus History. Vincent is a half-blood wizard who comes from a family of bakers. He has relatives in France who attend Beauxbatons and has completed a good deal of his Dragon Handling training across Europe. Balfour and Vincent first met in New Zealand, before Balfour had settled down in the UK for good. They are on cordial terms with one another and may sometimes go drinking together. Vincent is also close to Margo Amherst, in the Beasts Division. He smells of freshly baked bread and sweat. Recommended PB is Tom Hardy.Francis Holbrook Retired Quodpot Player - 36 years oldBalfour's half sisterSalem Academy alumnusHistory. Francis Holbrook is a half-blood witch with Veela ancestry who has retired from being a professional Quodpot player in the last two years. Born and raised in a small Californian town to a muggleborn father and a pureblood mother. Francis and Balfour first found out about one another when Francis turned eight, and was taken on holiday to Scotland by her mum. The two maintain infrequent correspondence but are on generally good terms, having spent a few summers together in their youth and young adulthood. At the moment Francis is deciding between careers, and is looking to travel around the world in search of something new to pursue. She is well-known for being an intense, funny person with a hyperactive attention span. Continues to kick Balfour's ass at wizarding chess to this day. Adelaide is Virgil's older (and only) sister. She is of a serious, straightforward mindset and is considered by many to be a morally upright witch. When Virgil had been taken advantage of by his Leglimency tutor as a child, Adelaide had been the first to notice - she loves her little brothers very much and, being of no mean intellect, has a biting temper. Unlike Virgil, she is of a strong physical constitution. He likes her but is not as dependent on Adelaide as he used to be. Recommended PB is Brit MarlingCecil Carstairs Ravenclaw - 12 years oldVirgil's little brotherHogwarts School of Witchcraft & WizardryHistory. Cecil is Virgil's little (and only) brother. His parents dote on him - their other children too old for it - and can sometimes be overprotective, something he is free of whilst at school. Cecil is a little bit in awe of his older brother and will try to act more mature around Virgil - when he isn't poking fun at him anyway. Virgil, of course, likes to say he despises Cecil. It is very easy to see, once you meet Angela Carstairs, where Virgil gets his catty looks and cutting mouth. She is a warm and domestic mother to her children, of course, but there is something distant and faelike about her - faerie blood, Edgar likes to say. Angela and Virgil like to chat about food and novels or poetry. Irene has been married to Solomon since she was twenty-one years old, head over heels in love with a young Auror who made her feel like the most exceptional witch in the world. He has been cheating on her, this past 25 years, with various women - and he is the proud biological father of at least one illegitimate child (Aisling Cooper). Irene doesn't know this. She lives in blissful ignorance, although the day of realisation will no doubt come around sooner rather than later. A kind, intelligent woman with dry humour and great love for her work in photography. His Quidditch teammates know him to be a different person: tough as nails and a brilliant fighter. It is a running joke in his family that he is always dating or being dumped by a different witch whenever they meet at the holidays. Recommended PB is Taron Egerton. Cynthia Carstairs Ravenclaw Alumnus - Early 20sSolomon's (legitimate) daughterArtistHistory. Cynthia, although much brighter than her brother, is considered the wilder card of them two. This is because she always speaks her mind and likes to make dramatic statements about politics. She is very close to her brother, however, and knows that he is the sneakier one: she is much too upfront to hide anything from her parents. Cynthia often works with her mother to produce artistic exhibitions. She has experienced mild success in the industry but doesn't have strong ambitions. Kamau is one of Léo's closest friends. They met online when she was studying her bachelors, on a message board where other child prodigies congregated. Like her, he had been discovered at a young age and went to study classical and contemporary music at the Royal Academy of Music. He's recently finished his MA in Music History at Cambridge. When he isn't working part time at Blackwood, Kamau composes and performs for many musicians in the east London music scene. He is a direct but gentle soul. Yan and Léonie met at a party a couple of years ago and clicked right away. Small but fierce, she took Léo under her wing, happy to be a bad influence. Yan studied politics at SOAS and when she isn't aggressively recommending literature to patrons at the Hackney Bookshop, she's organising protests against injustices in the UK. She'll get right in your face, and she has the brains the back it up. Recommended PB is Awkwafina. Dido Tansi Salem Witch Academy Alumnus ~ 18 years oldLéonie's Friend and MuseSales Assistant at Reducto Records and Model, Halfblood History. Dido is one of Léonie's few wizarding friends. Originally from America, she and her family moved to London earlier in the year. Dido's mother is friends with Léo's, and the two girls were introduced when Léonie was looking to brush up on painting portraits in oils. They have quickly become friends.
