So Many Characters, So little Time (SJ needs Plotzors) on August 02, 2012, 01:12:12 PM After months of life setbacks and things going KABOOM just when I thought they would settle down I am now fully ready to recommit myself to AO and my little darlings that I have missed writing so much. I've found there isn't really a way to ease yourself back into things, it's better to just jump all in in one go - so lets start with my Hogwartians:Sophie Flickwick Bio & NetworkOh Little Miss Sophie, how shall we describe you? Loud, loyal, and ridiculously empathetic to a fault? Having been gone for several months I'm only marginally aware of what's been happening at Hogwarts from the quick run down I got from Niobe yesterday. Having talked to Dlee I am in a bit of a lurch as to how to have Sophie proceed sans Deus because her life is crazy right now. So I guess at this point I am looking to introduce her to new characters that she has yet to have a chance to interact with and rekindling old friendships that died off because of my lack of activity. It would be great if someone would catch me up on the status of SAWS things, if they've moved anywhere at all - if they haven't then I'd like to get something going with it again, and would like some help trying to keep it afloat on the off chance my life explodes again. If we were in the middle of a thread when I dropped off the face of the Earth and you would like to continue it please let me know, I'd like to wrap those up fairly quickly and move on to new things. Halloween stuff sounds fun? If you need a pint sized Gryffindor for anything, Sophie is good at fitting in small spaces - almost as good as a first year!Liviana "Livi" Wiedman Bio & NetworkRight, so I'm assuming the Monarchy hasn't completely collapsed in my absence? We seem to have a lot of new Slytherins and I would love to get to know all of you. Liv is the younger sibling to Daz and Dominik Weidman which means her life is kind of in shambles right now, what with her brother in law being in jail, her sister sort of going mad, and her big brother being his general gadabout self. She's kept her composure about family drama but I am sure that little cracks are starting to show in her usually calm collected mask. She's not as tough as she pretends to be and is in need of serious social distraction, good gossip fest, patching up old friendships and maybe branching out into some new ones? I really didn't have anything going for her before my sudden exit so she's a bit of a clean slate. Now on to the adults!Dolly St.James Bio & NetworkFor whatever reason I've seemed to have trouble keeping Dolly-plots going. I'd like to change that because I love her a lot and want to smoosh her face. Since her creation two years ago there have obviously been a lot of peak and valleys to her life. For awhile she became very serious and withdrawn but I was working on getting her out of that phase when I was last writing her. I'd like to continue on that track with her, have her go back to being a glittering socialite who also happens to write really juicy novels. I have a character ad up here for her former fiance/editor and have some plot ideas for him coming back into her life if anyone is interested in adopting him. Other than that I just really need adults for her to interact with, spend time with, be seen out doing socialite-y things with. She misses glittering and preening and is quite mad Iv'e kept her locked up so long!Ruby Flickwick Bio & NetworkRuby is my wayward child. A recent graduate from Hogwarts she is sort of aimlessly drifting through life trying to find the thing it is that will make her happy. Prior to her mother's death last spring she had plans to work as a Werewolf liaison but threw her set career path out the window when she ran off to America after graduation. Currently she is holding down two jobs (Reducto Records sales clerk & receptionist at The Inkwell), until about the tenth or so of November she'll be living with Kale Ferris and then she and Theta Pepper will be getting their own flat. She needs to reconnect with old friends, make some new and figure out what in Merlin's name she's doing with herself. I don't see much of a plot with Paetyn, as he's a first year Huffler... But then I have Elijah who is a 6th year Ravenclaw and very very oddball. Salem stuffThere's something about a BBQ here and there is a claim that Salem students are contagious in the DP which seems to be being played out here. There'll be plenty more, erm, these are just bits I've seen. AdultsThere's a few different events and gatherings to get Dolly back into, from the shady and Darian's throwing a Halloween party. Sending Johann to both, if that helps.Regarding Ruby, I have Theta about as a secondary still for potential careers support and friendship. Depending on how you play Ruby, it could be she has a series of attempts at jobs all down Diagon Alley in an attempt to try and find something she likes to do? I do have other adult, older characters that could well be family friends like Edwin or Francis (Theta's dad) if you're looking for something that way instead. If she's looking for somewhere more permanent to stay, might be fun to team up with Theta and seek somewhere to rent, though Theta would expect Ruby to foot her half of the bills for sure! I think Kiba would be better to be friends with Sophie, they are in the same house and year after all.I have a few more characters, but I don't really think any of your characters would be interested in interacting with them. Reading Francesca I think she and Livi might actually get along? Liv is part of the in crowd by default, because of family money and the famous circles her brother travels in as well as Dolly being her godmother, but the Monarchy sort of bores her. She understands the importance of social leverage and keeping up appearances but she finds it rather tedious and would enjoy the fact Francesca doesn't particularly bother to be likable. As for Dolly and Cam: yes yes yes yes yes, if only to further annoy Dominik by her association with Ministry types. We could play them off as drinking buddies who people mistake for a "power couple" and get tongues wagging at Witch Weekly? y/n?Michael I think Sophie would really enjoy Eli's oddballness, the Grimlish family was always one of my favorites. Livi doesn't go around picking on people so much as if you get in her way she'll run over top of you without bothering to slow down. He would most likely garner looks of wtf?ery for being weird but not single him out for sport because she thinks it's childish, if that makes sense?Lisha We should talk on AIM, you have a Salem kid now y/n? I'm still trying to catch up on all the newer-ish characters because I've been gone so long. If you have time to thread we could do something with Rubes and Kale, or Kia and Ruby? I know for awhile you didn't have time to take on new threads so if that's still an issue I totally understand. Kit Johann and Dolly need to go drinking again, I'm just putting that out there right now. I think to support herself (besides living as frugally as possible and having saved every knut she ever earned before graduation) she's been doing odd jobs at Reducto for Tilly and babysitting. At least Tor and I had talked about that before I went all inactive. I like the idea of having she and Theta sort of pooling their resources to find a little flat, and it would be an open opportunity for Francis to nose in a bit and offer guidance. Ramona would have adored him (she adored most of the people from the ministry) so I think either Edwin or Francis getting involved and being like "Alright Missy, you need to sort yourself out because you're much to clever to be doing nothing with yourself" would be really good. She needs some sort of parental guidance and there's just not any to be found in the Flickwick home.Fox Sophie would love Kiba... but she might call him Kibbers or Kibby because...well she's Sophie and a more than mildly cutesy and weird. She's a generally friendly person so she'd even try to get along with Lorian (she has a soft spot for Hufflepuffs, since her older sister Ruby was one). We could throw either pair into a thread and see what happens if you like? Sometimes that's the best way to tell how characters will really get along.
