[Fall 2009] So Howl Me, Maybe? (Grace/Raine)

OOC: Cheesy thread title inspired from watching this most recently and getting the song stuck in my head. It actually has me thinking of something fun for the pro quidditch players to do...oh dear.

Raine,

Gryffindor beating Ravenclaw the first match out ranks right up there with some of the best news ever. Topped maybe by finding out that George got signed to play for my favorite pro team and that he pretty much assured me I can go to matches whenever I want to root him on. Tough job? Not even!

But seriously! CONGRATS! I am proud and jealous all at the same time!

To celebrate your victory, I am sending you signed posters of some awesome pro Keepers that will hopefully keep you inspired for the rest of the season.

Hope to make it to your next game,

Grace

The letter sleeps in a beige envelope, sealed by crimson wax. Enclosed is a small collection of recent photographs.

Grace!

I'm so very pleased to hear from you! It has been a couple of days since our victory against Ravenclaw but we are all still jubilant in Gryffindor house. Lua has even left the celebration banners[1] for us to enjoy over the weekend.

You would not believe the game we had. Collins did not stop screaming up until the moment it ended and Mairead played chicken against Schlagenweit for the snitch. We treaded the uncomfortabe line between bold and foolish... but who would have it any other way?

Thank you for the posters- I've put them up in the locker rooms.

How is your auror training? Quidditch is rather enjoyable but I still have my sights set on the MLE. Every time I catch a shady headline in the Prophet, I wonder about you and the other trainees. Does a lot happen behind the scenes?

I had better leave now, to revise for Charms. The new professor[2] is certifiable. You wouldn't believe me even if I attempted an explanation. Take care of yourself and pass on my regards to everyone!

P.S. I've slipped in some photographs of the game- as well as one of Professor Gale. He has inspired a rather frightening little fan club.

Love,

Raine Almasy

 2. Professor Gale, of course.

Letter is accompanied with a package of baked goodies and candies, likely the same kind of stuff that Grace's mum would have sent her while at school and Grace would have shared with the rest of the dorm, including Cornish Pastys which are still a bit warm

Raine,

With the change of weather, it makes me want to cook just like my mum used to when I was little. My housemates must think I am a little crazy because I am constantly cooking them food. But in a way, it's a good thing because our house elves and the ghost of Madame Radford don't like it when the twins and Fauna spend too much time cooking in the kitchen. You know what they say about too many cooks in the kitchen.

At any rate, I've sent you some snacks to eat or share if you wish.

I am hoping later on this week I will be able to attend one of George's matches. The Cannons are slated to play the Magpies and I am anxious to see them in person!

Auror training is going well. We each have our mentors who keep us busy and mine is Auror Whitman. I think Fauna is paired with Auror Pratt. As far as what happens, I can't speak for the others, but most of what I'm doing now is paper work and running errands. I figure it's all part of being a newbie, but hopefully we'll get some action soon.

Have I missed your Hogsmeade Weekend? If you have one soon, we should plan to meet up. I do have some shopping to do to get ready for Halloween. Are you ready? Do you know what you are going to do for a costume yet?

Take care!
Grace
