[May 3]Pie and Conversation [Ernie] on May 07, 2009, 12:23:10 AM Susan had a plate with pumpkin pie, piled high with whipped cream and some double devon cream. It looked absolutely delicious to her, with some pumpkin spice sprinkled on top of the whipped cream paired with some chocolate and strawberry and caramel sauce. It was going to be sugar overload and quite possibly disgusting on a regular cases but she had a craving for it and it looked absolutely delicious to Susan. Licking her lips she walked from the kitchen to the bedroom, her feet shuffling on the floor in her slippers. She was so concentrated on her whipped cream with pie that she barely looked up when she entered the bedroom. She put the plate down on the side table and flashed a smile at Ernie. “You didn’t want any pie did you?” She asked as she flipped off her slippers and climbed under her sheets and picking up her plate and took a spoon full which happened to be more cream than pie.“So I have been interviewing at the greenhouse to see if I can find some summer help, since I wont be able to bend over easily. I am hoping to get some students.” Susan smiled at the plate of pie as she took another mouth full. “I am also hoping to find a competent manager to take my place when the baby comes.” Susan was just talking with Ernie next too her no doubt looking at his work he brought home with him. “I cannot find anyone so far.”Susan took another big bite and this time getting some whipped cream on her face with some of the sauce, some on her nose and some around her lips. She looked at Ernie not actually knowing it was there. “Any suggestions on who to interview? Know anyone?” Skip to next post Re: [May 3]Pie and Conversation [Ernie] Reply #1 on May 07, 2009, 09:03:51 AM With some documents strewn on the bed, Ernie was deep in thought. Sure he had left work hours ago, but being the man he was it hadn't left him in it's entirety. His black framed glasses pushed up on the bridge of his nose, his face was pointed down wrapping all of his concentration on the task at hand. If there were enough hours in the day to sort threw this he might very well do it then, but it appeared there was not. Very often Ernie took his things home in order to get a fresh perspective. Working as a member of the Accidental Magical Reversal Squad, meant he had to keep abreast to all the latest news, as well as possible quick fixes to magic gone horribly wrong. Lately it seemed they were being called out to muggle homes who housed children of a certain gift and had no clue. It was one of the more common occurrences, more common than he would like. So when he heard the shuffling of his pregnant wife's feet it sounded distant. Ernie was too busy thinking to concentrate on what she was asking. Trying to refocus a little he heard something about pie, "What pie?" Ernie questioned not really paying it any mind he had his fill of dinner and didn't want sweets so close to bedtime. "Hmm can't find any students, how odd" Ernie would have to admit he had no idea what he was responding to at this point, just hoping she was happy with the little crumbs of conversation and would let him work. Though judging by how chatty she was he began to doubt that highly."Yes yes a competent manager," he muttered still too busy to pay attention to his now smudgy faced female companion. Why was it that women always wished to talk when you were preoccupied or when you about to go to sleep. It never failed, sometimes he thought there was a hidden contract they all signed after puberty to befuddle the male populace. "Sounds lovely," he replied once more before taking his quill from his side table and scratching about the pages in front of him. As much as she loved the man she hated when he worked in bed. Bed was supposed to be the place where you left the day so you could relax and potentially snuggle up with a loved one? Susan wanted to just spend some time with Ernie was that too much to ask? “You aren’t even listening to me Ernie.” Susan said as she wiped off her face and looked at the pie, she didn’t want it anymore. She put it on the bedside-table and pulled her cover up over her body and lay down in her bed. “Why do you need to work in bed Ernie?” Normally it wasn’t that big of a deal but little things were making her annoyed or setting her off.Susan rolled on her side and looked up at Ernie. “What is so important you still need to work?” Susan was getting sick of these hormones and it had really only just started, she was four months pregnant and she just wished it would go quicker and get it all over with. She had another five months of this and she was already sick of it, she wasn’t even at the point of being to large to bend over which was going to be a pain in the ass with her job.Susan looked at Ernie and poked him. “I love you.” Susan said before rolling over turning her back to Ernie, she might as well let him do his work and sleep. When she looked at the pie on the table she wished she could just throw it away because all of a sudden it just looked rather disgusting. In that he hated that she brought food into their marital bed often crumbs were soon to follow and crumbs in a bed were never proper nor dreadfully comfortable. "Pie, no. I do not want pie." His voice was calm and even. He truly didn't want pie. It wasn't something he cared for. Sweets weren't exactly something Ernie enjoyed. "Listening?" he replied half hearing her and half trying to finish the page he was on. It was becoming increasingly apparent that might not happen for him. "I am listening," he wasn't...Huffing a little he pushed up his black framed lenses to get a good look at her, "Susan you wanted me home more but the trade off is work at home. It all needs to be done in a timely manner," his voice was still calm but analytical. It was just how he reacted always but he was trying to be more sensitive because he could see he might be wearing that pie if he said something off color. "Work is always important," Ernie protested face squishing up in the process. "You knew that when you married me," he looked down at his work and had a sickening feeling a fight was brewing. If this was how his father felt each time one of them were born he could have it all and leave him out of it because Ernie would enjoy not dealing with it.A deep sigh wracked his body, "I love you too," he replied shaking his head and setting his work on the night stand. He would just have to work on it early in the morning before breakfast. "Please don't be cross with me, you knew how I was since school not much has changed..." Normally she didn’t eat in bed, but since she was seemingly hungry all the time or craving something even when she wasn’t hungry she had been eating in bed to stop the stupid cravings before bed. Now with the pie on the bedside table and the smell actually quite nauseating now. She hated how quick her feelings on food could change. “I don’t even want the pie,” she mumbled. Susan moved over find her wand on t he table and cleaned the plate vanishing the pie.“You’re not listening, don’t lie to me.” Susan knew when Ernie was listening and when he wasn’t. She had been around him since they were eleven she could tell when he was listening or not. “Don’t ever lie to me, I would rather you say you aren’t listening then lie to me.” Susan snapped in her angry hormonal state.Susan sat up and looked at Ernie. “I am okay with you doing work at home, but do you need to do it in bed?” She just wanted the chance to be in his arms, talking to him and fall asleep. It felt like it had been forever since she had been in his arms or close to him. Maybe it was just her hormonal state but now she was just down right annoyed with her husband.“I know not much has changed and I am glad because you being you is the reason I love you.” Susan looked at him rather annoyed. “I just…” Susan didn’t even know what to say as she moved back to lie down on her bed. Susan was not going to sleep well and she realized that now. Skip to next post Re: [May 3]Pie and Conversation [Ernie] Reply #5 on May 12, 2009, 10:42:55 PM Her mood swings were making him dizzy. Having read his fair share of muggle books and watching a few movies when staying over at Justin's home, Ernie found himself drawing parallels between Susan's now erratic behavior and those of the characters in those pieces of literature and film. If he didn't know any better he might have thought he married Sybil and by the looks of things her head was about to turn. If started spitting out pea soup he was moving out. "Then don't eat the pie," he replied still not sure where it was his fault she made it in the first place. Sure he was wrapped up in work but that didn't mean he needed to berated for not wanting her pie."I'm not lying to you, I just don't really have much to say on the lines of pie." His own anger was starting to rise. Though he continued to tell himself that it was those blasted hormones that made her snap at him every now and then, it was still hard not to get annoyed in the process. He was just behaving as he always had when they were in bed why was she expecting some drastic change? He gathered his things, "Fine I will do them in my study," he was now grumbling as he sorted through his paper work making sure he hadn't left anything. Though he was going to just go to sleep the way she snapped at him put him on edge. Picking up his glasses off the night stand he turned from her and headed out of the room making his exit hasty so he wouldn't be spat at again. His grumbling continued as he made his way to sitting at his desk. There he spread out his things and think straight. If he needed to he could go back in there and talk to her when she didn't feel like biting his head off. Ernie had become quite fond of the placement of his cranium and if she was out for blood when he returned he might just sleep on the couch that night. Skip to next post
