    Type of Criminal: Thief/pickpocket

Allegiances / Loyalties / Political Faction: Ultimately his loyalty is to himself and his family. He's been the main breadwinner for the household for a number of years now. He is driven by his want of money. At least half of his criminal earnings he gives to his mother.

    Previous Convictions or Crimes?:
    If yes, please explain.

Involved in multiple small item thefts and two burglaries from independent properties over the last 18 months.
June 2007: Arrested for picking pockets in diagon alley - given a caution for first time offence.
Nov 2007: Found in possession of a stolen artifact of a dark nature - bailed at 100 galleons. Found not guilty in court.
Jan 2008: Arrested on suspicion of burglary - released without charge, insufficient evidence.

What crimes might you commit in the future?  Discuss all possible:
He's not a criminal mastermind and has no aspiration to be. He will be involved in petty theft / burglary / dark object dealing/smuggling (mainly through his employment with Bougin's and Burkes). Could be a low level associate/dogs body for a larger criminal body/member if the payment is right.
He's not a killer, but fire a curse at him and expect to get one back - he's not adversed to retaliation if you're standing in the way of his exit.

Are you currently under pursuit by the Ministry of Magic?:
    Currently being monitered.

    Wand Description:
Dragon heartstring, mahogany, 9 inches. Rather jaded looking and marked with scratches all over the handle.
    Physical Description:

Jimmy is of average height, at around 5ft 10. Quite slim built and wiry looking
He has dark hair, that often has a mind of his own and that he spends little time trying to tame. His eyes are a pale blue, a colour just like his fathers, though unlike his fathers they often hold a certain kind of twinkle.

He has a likeable, pleasant kind of face that could be considered quite handsome to some though not striking enough to stand out in a crowd.

He doesn't earn a great deal and what he does, he doesnt waste on clothes. Many of his robes are worn down with frequent mendings, a lot of his shirts are a little frayed around the edges. He does have one smart set that his mother insisted on buying him for his 18th birthday, though in truth he feels a little uncomfortable wearing it.

    Personality Description:

At bit of a risk taker, he's young enough to still believe he's invincable. Best known for his cheeky wit and cockiness. He may not be the most educated of wizards but he's a quick learner and can think on his feet...something thats kept him out of Askaban more than once before now.

He can be quite charming at times, though tends to stay what him means and is not always tactful. He has a quick temper but doesnt tend to hold grudges. Quick to answer a fight with his wand rather than words when his temper is lost. Can be quite fickle with his affections. Tendency not to realize or take responsibility for his actions.

    History:

Jimmy was born in 1990 to Moira McCloud and Jonathon Haliwell in the central london district of Camberwell. His father was a well known dark artifact smuggler with a nasty reputation. Though he proberly made a small fortune from his work, very little made it home to the family who just about scraped a living. Jimmy can't remember ever being hungry, his mother made sure of that, but new clothes and toys were an expensive luxery that they were only treated to on rare occasions. The eldest of three, he has a younger brother and sister to look out for, aged 15 and 11 respectively.

He looked forwards to his time at Hogwarts, though it was not quite as he expected. He liked the company, he'd never been with some many others of his same age and made many friends but never really took to school work. He'd  been used to roaming the streets of London, to going where he pleased and doing what he liked. He frequently fell into detentions, never really grasping the idea of rules.

When his dad was arrested and sent down at the end of his fifth year he took his leave from Hogwarts early on the onus that someone needed to support his family and who else if not him? In truth, he was quite eager to make it out into the real world.

Again, it wasnt as easy as he thought. Honest work was quite difficult to come by with only a handful of OWL's under your belt and a name like Haliwell in 2006. His old man was not only serving time for a robbery, arson but also murder of the auror who first made it out on the scene. His case had been well publisized and no legal trader wanted to be associated with that.

At first, he scraped a living picking pockets. With a bright and honest looking face he found it suprisingly easy to relieve others of their coins and pocketwatches until he was spotted by a fellow thief near Knockturn. Eager to  have the lad off his patch, and when threats fell on deaf ears, he presented him to Bourgin and Burkes who initially gave him a few hours doing odd jobs. He soon impressed himself upon them and his few hours turned into near enough full time...even with some time on the shop floor though he has not yet been allowed to visit clients....with their knowing that is.

The old thief's ploy failed, Jimmy still continues with his petty thievery to subsidize his relatively meagre income. Half automatically goes to his mother (though he'd admit that only on pain of death), half funds his socialising and his ramshakle flat in Knockturn.

    Writing Sample:
Show your character in a scene that illustrates the best and worst aspects
of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.

Jimmy let himself in through the back door, the faint light of twilight flooding into the darkened room before it shut loudly behind him. A wand light followed by the dealer came in through the otherside.

Haliwell? I though you were told to come after dark with that! The voice hissed, obviously displeased as he flicked on the light.

Jimmy shrugged, leaning back onto the work surface and sliding the package onto the top.

" No-one saw me, I wasn't followed, didnt make much sense to be hangin around. " He told him with a small smile, pulling the package towards him again. "But if you don't want it of course..."

"Leave it.." The man hissed again, placing a bony finger in the centre of the brown paper and thrusting a bag of coins into his chest.

"Take your payment and get out." He told Jimmy angrily, but as the boy reached up to take hold of his payment the dealer pulled himself closer, pressing his wand to his temple.

"If you bring aurors to my house with your foolishness, I will make sure you pay for it...personally. He told him, flecks of spittle coating the boys face as he spoke.

Slowly he froze, aware of Jimmy's wand held close against his ribs.

"Back off Dubrovny...I wouldn't set much store in your reactions being better than mine...would you?" He asked him, a rather amused look in his eyes though his arm muscles were tense. They didnt relax until the older wizard had lowered his wand to his side.

"Thats much better. " Jimmy said, pocketing his ill gotten gains.

"A pleasure doing business with you. " He told him with a wink, exiting the way he came, though never taking his eyes off the older man until he was safely out of the door.

Sum up your character in one paragraph:

Cheeky and rather likeable though perhaps not to victims of his theiving. He's quick witted though cocky and perhaps takes more risks than he should, perhaps not the best combination for a sucessful and long living criminal.
