Bendy and smooth.Physical Description: Eamonn is of average height, standing at around five feet and nine inches tall with a lean build. He has a fair olive skin tone and thick, wavy brown hair which he wears long and with full sideburns. His facial hair grows quickly and is a constant chore to keep up with, so he is often left with stubble. His facial features are bold and intense - his hazel eyes framed by an arched, inquisitive brow. He has a strong, definitive nose and large, full lips. Eamonn's gaze can be stern and discerning; he can often be caught staring into space intently, his brow brought forward in consternation. He at times dresses rather simply, not caring at all for his personal appearance; at other times he dresses very purposefully to augment his sense of diligence with a flourish. If he dresses well it is to make a statement about his competence through a show of dignified style, rather than to attract a lover. Eamonn does not have many distinguishing marks. His skin is smooth and his complexion clear; he is generally very fit.Personality Description: Eamonn Mullen is deeply contemplative and analytical, a selfless and unworldly intellectual and mystic. Eamonn expresses himself through his tenacity, orderliness, insight, and systematic thinking style, though he is also creative and artistically minded. He is very much in his own head, which can make him seem emotionally withdrawn. Although he is actually quite sympathetic and tactful, he isn't one to keep very many friends, preferring his own company and philosophical or spiritual pursuits. He loathes to engage in idle banter and would rather have silence. He is diligent and studious, with a great drive to achieve success and financial stability. He values knowledge, wisdom, and intuition (in equal measure) above all else.Eamonn possesses a heightened sensitivity, despite an apparent inability to express his feelings to himself or others. He is keenly interested in life's greater mysteries and feels that he has more awareness than most people possess, that others are somehow incapable of seeing the world the way he does. He has a philosophical nature and is driven by an intense, existential curiosity. Eamonn also has a good deal of nervous energy. He doesn't like to be confined to an ordinary or sedentary lifestyle. He has a generally rebellious attitude towards convention. At the same time, he is not a leader nor is he criminally minded. He is, rather, relatively weak-willed and easily led, having a more submissive sensibility. Being more focused on the problems of others than his own, he engages his mental wanderlust and escapes from his own concerns. Emotionally he is repressed, secretive, and vague. Eamonn is, otherwise, fairly honest and sincere. At his worst he is stubborn, arrogant, narrow-minded, impatient, and rigid.History: Eamonn Padrigh Mullen was an only child of a Muggle and a Witch, born and raised in the small, rural town of Inistioge in County Kilkenny, Ireland. A shy boy, he spent much of his youth in solitude, pontificating in nature or else studying his subjects of interest with an almost religious sort of fervor. He attended Hogwarts in Ravenclaw House and was unsurprisingly an academically-oriented student who spent the majority of his time in the library or the dorms. He excelled in History of Magic, Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Divination, and Astronomy - all abstract, mentally-oriented fields involving a good deal of tedious, detail-oriented work. Though his wand work has never been very exceptional, he did his best practical work in Charms and Transfiguration. His home life as a boy was a place that existed perfectly between the Muggle and Magical worlds. His father, a non-magical man, was a gentle artisan and naturalist who valued his community and a good ale at the end of the day in his favourite pub. He disliked magic being used in the house and encouraged Eamonn's intellectual endeavors as a viable substitute for erratic, unpredictable magical tinkering, as he might have said. His mother was a Witch who'd attended Hogwarts in Gryffindor House and been working for St. Mungo's when she fell in love and was surprised with Eamonn's arrival in the world. His parents only married when they discovered she was pregnant, and she only revealed to him that she was a Witch when Eamonn was a couple years old and showing some typical magical oddities. Once he was out of Hogwarts, Eamonn became a curse-breaker for the Gringotts Wizarding Bank. He did this work for seven years, travelling extensively. The adventure, seriousness, and problem-solving aspects of the job truly suited him well, though he wasn't as talented in this work as were some of his peers and had his share of close calls, foibles, and accidents. At the age of twenty-five, he had grown weary of the lifestyle that came with professional cursebreaking; it was not only dangerous, but exhausting, and a bit too impersonal for his tastes. He was also becoming increasingly nostalgic for Ireland during this time, and felt compelled to return home. He quit his job one day in the middle of a dig - just walked away without a word and went back home to Inistioge. Unfortunately for him, Eamonn had come home precisely in time to bear witness to his parents' divorce. Though he tried to dissuade them, he could see that he was helpless in changing their minds. It was as amicable as a divorce could ever be, and quiet, civil, even. Eamonn took it as a devastating loss, grieving for the absence of a solid familial presence in his life. Because the divorce had to do with the rift between their respective worlds, he was left with the deep impression that Muggles and Mages were somehow meant to be kept separated. He feels now that he is the product of that ill-fated arrangement that was destined to go sour. Still having a deep love and respect for his Muggle father, Eamonn has been unable to resolve his feelings about the role that magic has had in his home life. In the aftermath of this taxing period during which he'd been playing the negotiator and mediator for his parents during their divorce, Eamonn started off down the wrong path and accidentally met the legendary crime-lord, Kronos Malvivicus. The Wizard, by all accounts charming and influential, easily cajoled the former curse-breaker into his employ. For the last two and a half years, he has worked comfortably close to Kronos as his Arithmancer, banker, diviner, and consultant, a curious arrangement that has proved to be mutually beneficial. Eamonn is content to live alongside Kronos, moving between estates with his own private quarters and a very generous salary. Although his employment is morally ambiguous, Eamonn feels grateful for the lavish, hermetic lifestyle that he is able to enjoy under Malvivicus's employment. The work is stable but largely spontaneous and variable, as well as challenging and intellectually satisfying. Eamonn hasn't made much of an effort to stay in close touch with either of his parents or his extended family, and he has gradually been forming a more solid attachment to Kronos Malvivicus.Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Eamonn is employed privately by Kronos Malvivicus as an Arithmancer and consultant. This position is multi-faceted. Eamonn assists in the oversight of Kronos's finances, which is essentially the task of managing his personal treasury. As an Arithmancer and Diviner, Eamonn also runs the numbers on individuals to discern secrets about them for his boss, and he provides verbal forecasts of sorts for Kronos so that he can keep one eye to the future. As he has gained some respect and trust through having a few years of diligent work behind him, Eamonn often finds himself in the role of general consultant or philosopher now. Kronos will pose questions or problems to him, seeming to think him very clever, and he will be given time to turn it over in his mind, create complex numerical charts, divine, and pontificate. Occasionally Kronos will set him to other tasks, such as curse-breaking or treasure hunting. Eamonn is a ready and willing employee who truly enjoys his work and is thoroughly immersed in it.Elaborate on your expertise in your field: Eamonn studied Arithmancy in school from his third year to his seventh, earning an Outstanding score on his Arithmancy NEWT. He similarly excelled in Ancient Runes, Divination, History of Magic, and Astronomy, focusing his wand work on Charms and Transfiguration. He has seven years practical experience as a curse-breaker for Gringotts Wizarding Bank, working overseas. Possessing a rare talent for practical Divination and a philosophical, contemplative disposition, Eamonn has integrated his personal life with his work life rather seamlessly. He has been in this position for two and a half years. Writing Sample: Sum up your character in one paragraph: Eamonn Padrigh Mullen is a sage, tenacious Arithmancer who used to be a Gringotts curse-breaker; now he works privately for criminal overlord Kronos Malvivicus. Eamonn is philosophical, imaginative, and a gifted diviner. He hid the fact that he was a Seer from everybody, including himself. That had been relatively easy to do when he was younger, as his 'visions' then were grossly untamed, muddled, and undecipherable. They were confusing more than anything, an unwanted interruption, and he wondered whether there wasn't something medically wrong with him. Focusing on his favourite subjects in school, however, gradually revealed to him that he had a penchant and somewhat of a natural talent for Divination. Through communicating with his Divination Professor, Eamonn was able to come to terms with what being a Seer meant. As the years passed, he became increasingly fascinated with other fields such as Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, and Oneiromancy (divination through dreams). In his academic, professional, and personal lives he has used multiple methods of Divination on a regular basis to gain insight into life's mysteries. Having this practical experience has helped him to hone his abilities and gain more control over the visions, which sit more naturally with him now. Eamonn will often sit in meditation the evening after receiving a vision to solidify the imagery in his mind and process the information. Using this method and recording his dreams on a regular basis, he has been able to strengthen the clarity of his second sight.Describe how the Special Ability influences their life. What do they use it for?: His ability as a Seer, along with Seer-related activities like Divination, dream keeping, and meditation take up a large part of Eamonn's rather mystic-oriented lifestyle. He is disciplined and has the hermetic environment necessary to practice these arts on a regular basis, and he enjoys to do so. Most of his visions, dreams, and insights are small in scope and personal in nature. He does not often have access to actual Prophecies that effect a lot of people, or at least he hasn't yet. He tends to experience visions of those close to him and events of particular importance to him on his life path. Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability: Eamonn has experienced multiple 'levels' of vision. There are some that are so brief, like a flash of something or something in the corner of your eye, and those tend to incite an intuitive sense of alertness in him, his body responding with a drive of adrenaline. Other visions are longer and more visually immersing. During these he is usually unaware of the world around him and pulled into a vivid other reality where the vision plays itself out from start to end in outstanding clarity, as if he was standing there. Others are more confusing and jumbled in nature. There will often be a fuzzy look to his peripheral vision, as if the edges of it faded off into pure ether. Other visions occur in the form of particularly rich, life-like dreams.During a vision he is stilled and stares ahead seriously, his jaw tight and head shaking slightly. He goes somewhat pale and might even begin to sweat at the temple. After the vision is over, it often feels as if he has been ripped from that other world and it does feel unpleasant. Eamonn will sometimes suffer headaches and he will often want to get out of public places as quickly as possible to be alone with his thoughts. Other than for his employment, Eamonn tries to keep his status as a Seer secret. It is a part of him that feels somehow very vulnerable, and he consciously works at keeping it a private affair. They have many generous qualities and are friendly, good natured, kind and compassionate, sensitive to the feelings of those around them, and respond with the utmost sympathy and tact to any suffering they encounter. They are deservedly popular with all kinds of people, partly because their easygoing, affectionate, submissive natures offer no threat or challenge to stronger and more exuberant characters. They accept the people around them and the circumstances in which they find themselves rather than trying to adapt them to suit themselves, and they patiently wait for problems to sort themselves out rather than take the initiative in solving them. They are more readily concerned with the problems of others than with their own.Their natures tend to be too otherworldly for the practical purposes of living in this world as it is. They sometimes exist emotionally rather than rationally, instinctively more than intellectually (depending on how they are aspected). They long to be recognized as greatly creative. They also dislike disciple and confinement. The nine-to-five life is not for them. Any rebellion they make against convention is personal, however, as they often times do not have the energy or motivation to battle against the Establishment.Pisceans tend to withdraw into a dream world where their qualities can bring mental satisfaction and sometimes, fame and financial reward for they are extremely gifted artistically. They are also versatile and intuitive, have quick understanding, observe and listen well, and are receptive to new ideas and atmospheres. All these factors can combine to produce remarkable creativity in literature, music and art. They may count among their gifts mediumistic qualities which can give them a feeling that their best work comes from outside themselves, "Whispered beyond the misted curtains, screening this world from that." Even when they cannot express themselves creatively they have a greater than average instinct for, and love of, beauty in art and nature, a catlike appreciation of luxury and pleasure, and a yearning for new sensations and travel to remote, exotic places. They are never egotistical in their personal relationships and give more than they ask from their friends. They are sexually delicate, in the extreme almost asexual, and most Pisceans would want a relationship in which the partner's mind and spirit rather than the body resonated with their own. Unfortunately they can be easily misled by a lover who courts them delicately and in marriage makes them unhappy by a coarser sexuality than they expected. They are nevertheless intensely loyal and home-loving and will remain faithful.March 4 BirthdaySignificance of the Date[Source]People born on this date are cautious when choosing people to trust. Don't be afraid to take a chance once in awhile.Personality[Source]You seem mysterious and different. People see you as serious and studious. You are highly independent and self- sufficient. Your accept ional intelligence and wisdom are quickly noticed, people respect you. You are not one to attract people on the basis of your warmth or compassion - though you may be loaded with both - but because of your obvious insight into life's mysteries. You are hard to get to know. You are often withdrawn. It is common for people to see your focus turn inside of yourself in the middle of a conversation. You have the makings of an intellectual and an aristocrat but you have to guard against arrogance and an attitude of, "I've got it all figured out". There have been periods in your life when you had little concern for your clothing or fashion, while at other times you are very aware of your clothing and use it to make a specific impression. You appear dignified no matter how you dress., but a well groomed seven with a touch of dash definitely has an advantage. Your confidence increases when you know you are well dressed. You are recognized as spiritual and religious, with your very own ideas regarding the purpose of life and the Creator. You are an inspired speaker, but only when discussing subjects that really interest you. Otherwise, you are not one for chatter. Your love of knowledge and wisdom shows.Expression[Source]Yours is the most highly charged Expression number of all. You are like a lightning rod, attracting powerful ideas, intuitions, and even psychic information like unpredictable bolts. You are a powerful presence without any awareness on your part of having personal power. You are a channel for higher vibrations. But in order to be emotionally and psychologically at peace, you must learn to control that flow of energy. You possess a bridge between the unconscious and the conscious. The trouble is that the unconscious is an infinite resource, while consciousness by definition is a limited arena. The two are therefore at odds until they can learn to live in harmony with each other. This is where control comes in. Until you are able to control the flow of energy from this infinite source, you may feel like a victim of its whimsy, thrown about by emotional turmoil and nervous tensions. You have always sensed that you are different, but it was an indefinable feeling. You are enormously sensitive and aware, especially as a child. This made you vulnerable to all conflicts and painful situations. For most of your upbringing, however, you did not realize that other people did not possess the same sensitivity, nor did they see the same things you were seeing. This caused a great reservoir of emotion that was dammed up behind an inability to express your feelings, even to yourself. For this reason, most 11 Expressions have a difficult childhood. Your extreme sensitivity made you very shy as a child. This usually manifests in adulthood as hesitation and acute vulnerability. You are very careful about sharing your feelings with others and choosing your friends. You compensated for your sense of separation in childhood by creating an elaborate fantasy world. You daydreamed more than other children. You have a lively imagination and even in adulthood have a hard time separating reality from fantasy.Your challenge is to bring forth your primitive, earthy strength. You need to be grounded in order to deal with your lightning bolts. The more you are able to call upon your inherent human strength, the greater your capacity to take advantage of your extremely sensitive awareness. Once this is accomplished, your antagonist becomes your benefactor. You are highly emotional and dependent upon relationships. Emotionally, you go up and down with the fortunes of your love life. You are idealistic, impractical, and at times disorderly. You are often unrealistic in your expectations. Your reasons for doing things are usually born of a mixture of logic, emotion, and intuition, which can rarely be explained satisfactorily to your more rational associates. The 11 Expression is the number most dependent upon other core numbers in your chart for insight into your vocation. The 11 charges every area it enters, but it needs a grounding vocation and discipline to be effective. A balanced 11 is one of the most unique and impressive of all people. It is gifted with insight and illumination, which it can transmit to others. This makes you a natural teacher in whatever area you enter. Skip to next post

Special Ability Request Reply #1 on July 21, 2012, 11:16:35 PM Character Name: Eamonn MullenAge: 28Character Biography: http://absitomen.com/index.php?topic=11575.0Do any of your other Characters have Special Abilities?: NoIf Yes, then Please provide their name and a link to their bio: Special Ability: SeerWhat level is this ability at?: IntermediateAt what age did your character gain this ability?: BirthHow did they learn or hone this ability?: Eamonn didn't understand the scattered visions and odd dreams that he had for the longest time and was frightened by them. They are more readily concerned with the problems of others than with their own.Their natures tend to be too otherworldly for the practical purposes of living in this world as it is. Even when they cannot express themselves creatively they have a greater than average instinct for, and love of, beauty in art and nature, a catlike appreciation of luxury and pleasure, and a yearning for new sensations and travel to remote, exotic places. They are never egotistical in their personal relationships and give more than they ask from their friends. They are sexually delicate, in the extreme almost asexual, and most Pisceans would want a relationship in which the partner's mind and spirit rather than the body resonated with their own.
