AboutWhen Hagrid returned in 2009, his hut had been converted into the new infirmary.
But he couldn’t stay
in the castle. So naturally the next course of action was to build
another house, one where he could reside most comfortably among nature.
However, during his time away the giant had learned and seen a great deal more than
he had ever dreamed of, and so upon his return he decided not to build another hut,
but a treehouse, and in a different location entirely—further into the Forest along the
lake’s edge, where its treeline provided cover against everything but the sky. There, he
was closer to nature, and could enter the forest more easily.
Of course, the inside wasn’t bad, either. Much larger than that of his former home,
the treehouse is a clear step up in terms of comfort and modernity. Fully furnished with
a glossy kitchen, a separate living area, and a whole extra floor, the Hideaway is as
different from the hut as it can get.
Unfortunately, with his departure and the frequent change in caretakers, the treehouse
had fallen into a state of disrepair—although, thankfully, not for very long. Not long
after Hogwarts’ latest Care of Magical Creatures professor arrived, she moved in, and has
since been making use of its cozy but spacious walls and ample yard space. A flock of
Rude Sheep graze nearby, and student
‘projects’, for the most part, roam freely but
never stray too far.
