    Julie Lafevre: Model

    on July 09, 2012, 07:12:53 PM

    Julie-Jehanne Lafevre

Character Birthday & Age: September 27th, 23 years old
City & Country of Birth: Èvian-les-Bains, France
    Blood Purity: Unknown
    Alma Mater: Home Schooled
    Job/Position: Model

Wand: Light Hickory, Hippogriff Talon Core; 8 ¾ inches. Its wood is pliable, and it tends to act up when out of Julie’s possession. Its shaft is decorated with swirling patterns, symbolizing the beauty that Julie loves to have in her life.

    Everybody's got a dark side
    Do you love me?
    Can you love mine?

Personality Description: Julie has a love, a passion for the arts. Dancing and modeling come to her with ease, along with the gracefulness that comes with them. Despite her grace, heavy and athletic sports leave her twisted and confused like a small child who can’t walk.

She also is very refined; her outward appearance is of utmost importance to her. But get her around the right people, and she’s just as awkward and random as the rest of us. When with the people she knows and loves; a simple pair of jeans and a faded hoodie is fine; but when she’s dressed to impress, you better be watching the runways!

Julie is highly indecisive, whether its clothes, or her next big move, or what to say next in a conversation, her mind is always at conflict. She can’t figure out what exactly it is that she wants out of life, although she tries to figure it out when she has time.  She hates change, despises it wholeheartedly. But once it’s imminent and she knows there’s no way around it, she attempts to embrace it. It usually takes a long time to even get her to think about embracing change though, much less accept it as fact.

She also is an extrovert, always ready to share with others. Julie takes pleasure in making others smile and laugh, even if for only a moment or two. Sometimes, when thrust into an awkward social situation, she will get confused and not be able to find her way around her words. She has a bad habit of biting her lower lip in an uncomfortable situation, leaving scars around her lower lip which is routinely covered in lip stain so no one will notice how normal she really is.

That’s one of her worst fears as well, even though she seems popular among friends and the fashion industry, she’s scared of people thinking of her as normal. She is an exceptional ballerina, and her beauty allows for her to be an exquisite model, but she’s worried that one day will bring a mistake and she’ll be just like everybody else.

    Nobody's picture perfect.
    But we're worth it!

Physical Description: Julie has golden-brown hair and huge chocolate colored eyes to match. Her lean body is from dancing as a child, she started ballet from the time that she started walking. The end result is a gracefulness that she shows through the way she walks and dances. What makes Julie successful as a model is the way she can pull so many different styles of clothing off; she has the innocence and purity of a child, but the attractiveness and allure of a woman. Julie also has a charm of her own. The way she conducts herself around others is only the beginning, being raised in a strict household with images of beauty all around her, she’s been taught proper poise and manners. But she also has a beauty that radiates from within, a kind that makes her seem alive and energetic, always ready for what’s to come next.

    Will you return?
And remind me who I really am,
Please remind me who I really am.

History: Julie Lafevre was born on September 27th. Her parents, unknown to her and everyone else, disappeared and left her in a straw basket to float away in a river. Now, ironic as it may be, somebody actually found her. A lone fisherman saw the basket not long after she had been disposed of, and pulled it up into his boat. He brought the little baby to the nearest orphanage, talking crazy talk about how this child was blessed to even have been found after being doomed to such a terrible fate. Not long after being dumped into the arms of an ungrateful woman who ran the orphanage, the little girl was adopted by two wealthy individuals, Marie and John-Marc, who couldn’t have children themselves and had always dreamed of having a daughter. They named her Julie-Jehanne, her second and unused name after the saint Joan of Arc.

During the terror and reign of he-who-must-not-be-named, Julie and her parents stayed in their home in Èvian-les-Bains, France. Although to call it a home would be an understatement, it was a sprawling mansion upon thirty-two acres of land. Both of her parents were muggles, so they never realized how bad off London’s magical community was and how hectic things were becoming. They heard reports of deaths in countries all around them, but decided that they would be safe in their home.

After the fiasco with he-who-must-not-be-named was over, Julie had started doing very strange things. She would make her book work float off of her desk in her room, she could make the flowers in the gardens vibrant and full of life, and she even changed the color of her Pointe shoes while practicing her ballet routine. Her parents thought this was a gift until someone had come calling, informing them that their adopted daughter was a witch. Her blood purity was unknown because they could not trace her family line, but they always thought her a pureblood because it seemed that such a high status in the world would reflect such purity in her blood.

Her father went off in search of a tutor, deciding against sending his daughter to a magical school where she would be bunched in with a lot of other people she had never met, and who certainly weren’t as refined as she was. He found a talented witch who had been schooled in Beauxbatons, an unplottable school in southern France. Christine, Julie’s new tutor, was an extraordinary woman. She was friendly and just as skilled in ballet as Julie could hope to be. When she wasn’t being taught, she was practicing her dance.

Christine was also an Animagi, as Julie came to learn. The older girl showed Julie how she transformed, and upon seeing the girls interest, seeked permission from Julie’s parents to help her study transfiguration in depth and how to become an Animagi.

At first she had extreme difficulty with it, almost as if she was allergic to the transforming itself. Then, as she and Christine practiced, she increased her skill level and became much better at it. Her Animagus was a penguin. As her skill in ballet increased, she grew apart from it, finding that she longed for a new passion. She found it in modeling. Her adoptive mother had a friend who was high up in the fashion industry. Within a few days, she had been introduced to Julie, who was now sixteen, and they started her new career in modeling.

When she was eighteen, she left home to pursue a job opening out in London. She bought a small apartment in Diagon alley, but away from the busier streets. While walking around and trying to get a feel of the city, she bumped into someone. He dropped whatever he had been holding; apparently it was a potion, because it spilled all over her dress. What had been a white dress was now a multicolored and glowing dress. Her first words to Mark Hunter, “This isn’t going to kill me is it?”

Since then, she has stayed in London, but frequently visits her parents in France. She enjoys visiting the Hunter household and talking to their family, but can’t get over her favorite little girl, Alice. That’s mainly who she loves to see there. Besides Mark of course.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Julie models different clothing that is popular in the present fashion. She doesn’t have one strict agency, but finds herself freelancing around different parts of Europe.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field: Ever since she was sixteen, she started modeling for her mom’s friend’s agency. She has connections with people higher up in the industry and finds herself being sought after by some of the big shots in not only modeling, but for fashion shoots as well. It’s been four years since she’s started, and despite one flub up, she’s considered a natural.

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Once a lost little girl, Julie has grown up to become an elegant and graceful woman. Special Ability: Animagus
What level is this ability at?: Master
At what age did your character gain this ability?: 16

How did they learn or hone this ability?: While Julie was being home schooled, she learned that her tutor was an Animagus. Upon learning this, she became intrigued with the subject and learning about it. First she developed a hand for transfiguration, then gradually working on her Animagus. After two and a half years of backfiring and having almost allergic reactions to the transformation, she finally turned for the first time. Her Animagus is a Pygoscelis adeliae, or an Adelie Penguin.

Describe how the Special Ability influences their life. What do they use it for?: Julie uses it for her own pleasure, she only achieved it after seven years of hard work and constant practice. She takes pride in being a registered Animagus, knowing that it's a title she worked hard for. She frequently uses it when she's lonely or bored, also finding that taking a bath when she's a penguin makes it a whole lot more fun, and the bathroom a whole lot messier. Julie, like the Adelie penguin, is very playful. So it makes a lot of sense that she would become such a fun and social creature. It's also very petite and to some, adorable, which fits her physical description to a point.

Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability: Before she transforms, Julie concentrates and clears everything from her mind. While she is transforming, she feels like her skin is being squished, since the Adelie penguin is a fairly small creature compared to her. The Adelie is know for the white ring around its eye, and Julie has the smallest abnormality on the right ring where a tiny patch of black penetrates the white. The penguin usually has dark blackish eyes, but Julie had a dark brown. Darker than her normal brown, but lighter than the normal penguin color. While in penguin form, Julie finds that she craves krill, a favorite of the Adelie penguin. She normally keeps a small amount in her fridge to put out before she transforms, because it tastes terrible if she eats in while she's human.
