[May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) on May 04, 2009, 01:51:05 PM ~12:30pmMoira certainly had not been expecting a visit from four year old Kaylee Cramer that day. When the little one and her family entered the floor twenty minutes earlier, she had been finishing up a few lose pieces of paperwork before going to get ready for lunch. Marcus was due to be there shortly, and she had hoped for a minute or two to change back into her non-work clothes. However, when Kaylee had refused to see anyone other then Moira, she had been unable to turn her away, even thought the little girl’s injury was plant related. The girl had been one of the first patients she was upon starting her work at St. Mungo’s. She had been the victim of a werewolf attack nearly six months ago and had been coming to St. Mungo’s twice a month. One visit would occur before the full moon to receive her Wolfsbane Potion, and one right after to check on any injuries. Moira had been told that the girl had been terrified of every healer before her and often cried the entire time. So, it did not entirely surprise her that Kaylee had not wanted to go up to the third floor. She had been playing in the woods behind her house when she had apparently encountered a Fanged Geranium. Her parents of course had been quite upset, but seemed to accept Moira’s reassurances that the little girl would be fine. They had stayed in the waiting area after Kaylee had practically launched herself into Moira’s arms. Moira worked quickly, cleaning the wound, applying the proper potions, and bandaging her up. After the bandage was secured, she carried Kaylee back to the waiting area to deliver her back to her parents.“She was an excellent patient, Mrs. Cramer. Just keep the area clean and dry for the next few days,” she told the girl’s mother with a smile, before turning her attention back to Kaylee again. “I will see you next week…No more run-ins with those Fanged Geraniums, alright?”The little girl nodded, hugging Moira before she was handed over to her father. Moira watched them leave, before turning to return to the main desk. Taking the girl’s file, she started to make a few quick notes. She needed to hurry; lunch – made up of Mini Italian Club Sandwiches, carrot and celery slices, green tea, and her special recipe for hazelnut chocolate chip cookies – would soon be waiting for her. She sighed slightly, knowing that her healer’s robes and braided hair would have to do for this meeting. Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #1 on May 07, 2009, 06:49:58 PM It had been almost a full week since he had seen Moira. The Remembering Day fiasco created more than a fair share of confusion and frustration for the entire community, let alone the Ministry of Magic. Marcus had instigated several meetings with his department heads in order to get a focused response to the public. It was not a happy time for Marcus, and he figured the next couple of weeks were going to be just as tiresome. This is why he had actively searched out this time off work. His lunch hour technically didn't start for another hour or two, but he had to make his daring escape away from his paperwork. Claudia was more than willing to schedule some time for him to do just that, because she has seen Marcus truly stressed before, and didn't much care to see it again.Marcus was quite familiar with St. Mungos and it's layout. During his time as an Auror, Marcus had spent many days and nights being treated by the Healers. Before that, he had sometimes visited his mother during the summers away from Hogwarts. It was either that or spend time with his father. He preferred St. Mungos. That, and he had a thing for nurses. He made his way up the stairs, greeting Healers and other administrative staff as he passed them. Most he recognized, though he doubted they remembered him as anything other than Minister of Magic. He allowed his mind to wander to what his life would have been like if he hadsn't pursued a life of Law Enforcement, and instead took his mother's path. He let himself muse on that topic until he made his way to the place that Moira had designated for them to have their lunch. The door was already open, so Marcus made his way in... and saw the magnificent spread that Moira had made for them. "Wow," was all that Marcus could say. Few times in his life has he ever been speechless. It seemed that Moira had that effect on him. She was in her work clothes, something that she probably didn't want for this meeting. Marcus, however, found it to be the icing on an already delicious cake."It must be my birthday," Marcus said, smiling. (Marcus) Reply #2 on May 08, 2009, 10:54:18 AM After returning the file to its proper place, Moira had gone to retrieve the bag of food she had brought for lunch. She knew she had gone a bit overboard…this wasn’t a date after all. She made her way to one of the break rooms, knowing her coworkers tended to spend their lunch hours upstairs at the tearoom away from their work. The room was almost always empty except during peak coffee hours. She set the bag on the table, pulling out two containers containing the mini-sandwiches placing one in front of each of the chairs. Next was another container with the carrots and celery, which she set in the center. She had a thermos of green tea, and poured some into two mugs. She was just setting the container holding the cookies down on the table when she heard Marcus’ voice behind her. She smiled slightly as she turned to face him."It must be my birthday."“Let me guess, you have a thing for women in healer’s uniforms,” she said with a smirk, before she could process what tumbled out of her mouth. She blushed slightly as she realized her internal filter had failed her in that moment. However, she recovered quickly, as she continued, “I’m glad you could make it over here today…I wasn’t sure with everything going on if it would be possible.”Thankfully his aide had found a gap in his schedule. She had been a bit worried that since the fiasco of Remembering Day he would be bogged down with meetings and paperwork for the next month. He deserved a bit of relaxation as much as anyone else, after all. Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #3 on May 08, 2009, 01:19:03 PM Moira's response to his comment was surprising. Had he told her of his fascination with nurses? Marcus did is best to hide his scrunched-up problem-solving face. "Yes, I do actually. It's the subtle way in which they were designed. They're meant to take the eye away from any distinguishing features of the female form, but it just makes me more curious." Marcus was, if nothing, a very open person. "Plus it's the responsibility that you all have. Much like other's obsession with single mothers, I can definately see where that comes from."“I’m glad you could make it over here today…I wasn’t sure with everything going on if it would be possible.”Marcus stepped further into the break room to get a better look at the sandwiches, and the preparer. "Believe me, I would have walked across hot coals for this day, if it meant that I could get out of that office for even a few minutes. Ms. Vespucciano has been even more helpful as of late. I think she just wants me out of my office so she can sit in my chair." Marcus winked, if it wasn't already obscenely obvious that he was making a joke.A few moments passed while Marcus stood in an uncomfortable silence, watching Moira put the finishing touches on her display. Damn you, small-talk... "So, uh, this room looks completely different from the last time I was in here." Marcus studied the room, almost looking for a window he could jump out of. "Then again, I was twelve the last time I was in here. Even wizards sometimes desire a change in the decor.""So how's work going for you here?" Really, Marcus? You're going to ask her about her job?! Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #4 on May 08, 2009, 03:15:44 PM "Yes, I do actually.”The honesty of the statement caused Moira to blush a bit more. She wasn’t entirely surprised though; most men had a thing for healers…or nurses depending on if you were asking a Wizard or a Muggle. However, it wasn’t the usual practice to actually admit that, especially in the presence of a woman dressed in said uniform.“Believe me, I would have walked across hot coals for this day, if it meant that I could get out of that office for even a few minutes.”She gave him a small, half smile of sympathy. Her worries had not been completely unfounded, but at least she could provide a bit of distraction for him. It seemed that his aide was also very aware of the fact that he needed a break every now and again. She laughed though at the thought of the statuesque Italian woman lounging in his chair. When she had seen her at the Welcoming Ceremony there had been a flash of jealousy she couldn’t deny, something else that had confused her.“Remind me to thank her next time I see her,” Moira commented, still laughing a bit.She went back to fussing over lunch as he spoke of the last time he had been in the break room. She laughed slightly again, nodding in agreement about the color. It was small talk, she knew it. She was beginning to wonder slightly about that, remember Akiva’s warning from a few nights earlier and her statement about it being more then just lunch. That had been causing her to do quite a lot of thinking lately, especially about what Marcus thought of her in particular."So how's work going for you here?"“It was a bit busy for a few days,” she said with a slight shrug as she finally set the bag aside, done making a fuss over their food, “a lot of minor injuries from all the confusion among the crowd during the Ceremony. It’s been a bit quieter the last two days...Shall we?”She motioned towards the seats at the table, knowing everything was ready. She suddenly hoped she had not jinxed herself by saying the last two days had been quiet. All she needed was an hour more… Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #5 on May 12, 2009, 09:53:08 AM A moment of hesitation passed while Marcus longingly gazed at the gathering of food in front of him. Marcus took a chair, making sure to wait for Moira to take one as well. Then he dug in. He resisted the urge to tear into the food like a starving forest animal, but instead calmly picked up one of the many sandwiches and took a bite. After all, he was the Minister, shouldn't he at least pretend to have an element of class to him? He was a grown man, not a child...Oh, but they were so good!"I remember back when this room had a bunch of toys for the other children, back when it was a waiting room for the recovering kids to wait for their parents. You know, the ones that ended up spending more than a few days here." Marcus pointed to the top of the wall where the ceiling met it and traced a straight line with his finger, "It used to be all dolled up like a Muggle classroom, with the alphabet displayed up there."Marcus took another bit of his oh so delicious sandwich, "The problem with the room was that you'd be hard pressed to find a child's family not by their side at all times, and in between that chunk of my childhood and now they must have changed this from one comfort room to another. It was a shame too, because there were still children that used the room, whether it was because they didn't have parents or just because they didn't have very good ones."Wow, what a downer. Quick Marcus, salvage it! "You have definately outdone yourself, and me as well Moira. I will definately have to one-up you for our next lunchtime encounter. " Marcus said, covering his mouth with his hand while he swallowed the rest of the bite he just took. "This whole thing is just fantastic. How do you have the time? You seem like such a busy person." (Marcus) Reply #6 on May 12, 2009, 11:24:03 AM Moira seated herself at the table as well, taking one of the mini-sandwiches. She took a small bite, savoring the taste. This had been one of her favorite sandwiches since she was young. Her mother had been an excellent cook and had passed on several of her recipes. This was one of the simpler ones that Moira had improved upon and put her own spin on.She listened as he spoke of the room and the changes that had occurred, taking a sip of her tea as he finished. She could almost picture the room as he described it, and the truth was there would sadly always be a need for such a room. It had, however, been relocated to a larger area.“Those are the cases that touch some of us the most,” she said about the children without the parents. “There’s a large space now down one of the other halls…I think an anonymous donation was made at some point to do it.”"You have definitely outdone yourself, and me as well Moira. I will definitely have to one-up you for our next lunchtime encounter. "Moira blushed at the complement, and then a bit deeper at the thought that he was already planning to see about another of their lunches. That would be the third lunch they would have together…She could almost hear Akiva’s speech playing in her mind about this being more then just lunch. However, she quickly pushed that thought aside as he mentioned her schedule.“Thank you,” she said, trying to find a way to explain the reasons she had been able to pull this together. “I’m usually at my best when I’m busy…I know this was probably a bit much for lunch, but once I started thinking about it I couldn’t resist. Besides, with everything going on, I thought you deserved a bit of a treat.”Her smile was genuine, but of course her mind was playing the real reasons she had found herself with plenty of time to make the spread. She had fallen asleep quite early the night before only to awaken from another nightmare…This time it wasn’t just about her Muggle shadow who might still be in London who usually haunted her dreams. Donnelly had been there too. She hadn’t heard from him since that day at the bookstore, and she hoped it was because whatever Dreogan had done was working. However, it made her nervous when she dwelled on it, like she was waiting for the other shoe to drop. So, she had thrown herself into making lunch…as midnight. Besides, with everything going on, I thought you deserved a bit of a treat.”Moira was good at many things, like putting up walls where she didn't want wandering minds to venture. It was something that Marcus was at an expert at. He had his own skeletons, after all. The only question was whether or not Marcus felt like commenting on the matter."Seems like you could use a bit of a break as well." Marcus was, if nothing, tactful under pressure. He wanted to ask her what was troubling her, but would probably get all smoke and no substance. Besides, it was honestly none of his business. "I do appreciate this though, I don't think I can express that enough."A few more moments passed before Marcus awkwardly decided to speak. "One thing you should know about me is that I'm terrible at conversation. I always have been, and I'm fairly sure I always will be. I'm not sure what it is, but if I'm not talking about work or asking a question, I'm completely lost. I'm... pretty sure you've picked up on that by now."He took a very deliberate bite of his sandwich. "Right now I'm wondering how I can make this more strained. Perhaps if I just eat this sandwich and look deeply out the window I can pretend that I'm good at conversation." Marcus laughed a bit, and took a drink of the tea that Moira had lovingly prepared. "But seriously, how have you been? I think the last time we actually spoke to one another was a week ago at the Welcoming Ceremony." She was attempting to respond, but chewing didn't seem to be happening fast enough. She was going to tell him breaks didn't happen in her little world. Breaks meant she would have to deal with whatever was going through her head. Breaks meant there might not be a distraction. As she swallowed the last bite of sandwich she had taken he started talking again. She didn't respond, sure he wasn't done even though he took another bite of his food. She pondered her next move for a moment. Was it better to let things continue to be strained by keeping him at more then an arms length, or actually tell him what was on her mind lately. Of course she couldn't tell him everything, like actually receiving a visit from Kyle in her flat the day before, but there were some things she could say. The setting was certainly more private then their last lunch meeting."Alright, for the most part," she said honestly. "Trying to process what happened...I was friends with the sister of the student involved in the mess at the Memorial Ceremony. She was killed a few years ago...it was really tragic. I just can't believe it." Especially since he showed up at my apartment and swore to me he didn't."It just seems like it's been one thing after another since I moved back to London," she said before taking another bite of her sandwich. Not about how Kyle Gibson couldn't have done it, but the fact that trouble started right about the time she had arrived back in her home town. It would probably be worth it to do a background check on Moira's family, just to make sure that they don't have anything to do with it.With that said, he really didn't know Moira herself past the few encounters that had transpired. It could all be a coincedence, but it might still be worth it to have her followed by an Auror, just in case she's some criminal mastermind. It wasn't something that needed to be addressed right away, so Marcus would just file that thought under 'TO BE DETERMINED.'"I wouldn't think too much about it, Moira," Marcus said, intentionally ignoring the fact that she thought Kyle was innocent. It was a can of bees that Marcus didn't want to open, not at this stage of the friendship. He was resigned to the fact that he would have to at least pretend like he had given it some thought, or she would no doubt bring it up again, and more adamant."Regardless of the incident at the Memorial Ceremony on who's really to blame, Kyle Gibson is still wanted for questioning. If it was him, he didn't act alone." So much for discretion... "The truth of the matter is..." Marcus paused to look outside the door to make sure no one was evesdropping, "...is that there isn't anyone who doesn't have it in them to kill. Some do it because they're nuts, some do it because their country tells them to, and some do it out of a perverted sense of moral justice."He continued, "I've seen the eyes of a killer, Moira. I've lived it. Kyle Gibson had it that night, in his eyes. That vacant yet piercing gaze that lets in on the monster within." Marcus took a sip of his tea, "The other thing is that... how can I say this with discretion? There are a lot of ways to frame someone for murder. Especially when it's wizard-related.""All I'm saying is that every angle is being exhausted. The fact remains that an injustice has happened and needs to be corrected." Another long and awkward pause followed, this time more deafening. Marcus made a point not to ever speak off-hand about work to anyone in the ouside public. It would be all too easy for a reporter to catch wind of a personal opinion, and then spin it to make everyone look bad. As much as he hated to admit it, Moira seemed like she could be trusted. Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #10 on May 31, 2009, 02:47:55 PM Moira bit her lip slightly as he spoke. Someday Kyle would be caught and he would have to answer the Ministry's questions, it was inevitable. Would they be able to see that his eyes were not those of a killer? That was one of the reasons she had believed Kyle when she looked into his eyes she knew he was telling the truth. She doubted it would be so simple though if he was caught. As he described brief what those eyes would look like, the "vacant yet piercing gaze," her mind drifted a bit. She had seen that gaze too from over a half dozen pairs of eyes as they looked at her like she was the very devil incarnate. Kyle Gibson was suddenly the furtherest worry from her mind. She had seen that coldness in Donnelly's eyes too, but he had not gazed upon her with such intensity. If he has she probably would not have remained nearly as level headed."All I'm saying is that every angle is being exhausted. The fact remains that an injustice has happened and needs to be corrected."She nodded slightly, not really thinking about it any longer, and managed to take a small sip of tea. They fell into a silence that seemed to stretch out the next few moments. She managed to collect herself again, deciding it was best to leave the subject of Kyle alone for now."Well, I hope it can be truly correct," she said, not really backing down from her belief that her friend was innocent, but still agreeing with his statement in a way. "There are many that go ignored...for whatever the reason."In her case she simply refused to report what had happened, and still did not want outside involvement. Her shadow had seemed to disappear and with any luck he was gone for good. It would be one less thing to worry about for the time being. The longer Donnelly went without injury as well the less likely she'd be to have anyone following her around."And I've seen that look you were talking about too...I'd say it's not one that easily forgotten," she told him, pausing to take another sip of tea. "I haven't found a way to do so yet..." Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #11 on June 06, 2009, 09:58:08 AM Was it Marcus' place to pry? It was a vague enough statement that revealed absolutely nothing about whatever troubled past she had led, and yet it opened up so many doors. What exactly was she talking about? Marcus would spend an eternity in his head thinking of the possibilities, all in the frame of a few short moments. Had she said what she said because she wanted to talk about it? What was stopping her? Suddenly, Marcus realized that it was more than likely that his position as Minister was keeping her from truly revealing what was on her mind.He had seen it before, in past acquaintences. A hesitence to speak on certain matters because of his former place in the Law Enforcement division. This told Marcus a few things, more than she would likely actually confim he surmised. Firstly, she probably isn't talking about the Donnelly incident. It was a shared experience, and she had already spoken about the details in the report. Second, whomever she was actually talking about was still attempting to invade her life in some way.Or, all of it could be just Marcus' fabrication based on his need for some semblance of logic in his life. Whatever the case, he would let the momentum of the conversation resolve itself. "Sometimes you just have to face it. Be it a physical obstruction or a mental one, you have to accept that it is a part of your life and try to find some sort of resolution. The degree of finality is up to you."He continued, "Sometimes you have to ask for help to get the job done. I'm not saying it'll be me, but I would like to help you out if you'd let me. It's a lot to ask, I know, especially when you consider that was can barely count our enounters on two hands. I have a lot of experience with physical and mental obstructions, and the Ministry of Magic employs an excellent therapist if you need to talk to someone in a more official setting.""So, could this conversation get any darker?" Marcus chuckled, as he was apt to do in awkward situations. A side effect of usually having something to say at any given time. It didn't help matters that he was growing quite fond of Moira, and that the lunch made him feel like he was back at the courtyard at Hogwarts. Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #12 on June 08, 2009, 09:44:28 AM Moira laughed a bit with him, but surprisingly not completely uncomfortable with the conversation. There was a level of trust with Marcus, and although part of her worried he would insist on involving the Ministry further in her personal life, she wanted to open up to him. During the Memorial Ceremony she had quickly come to realize she was starting to feel something more then just friendship towards him. It had come as a bit of a surprise to her, and there were plenty of practical reasons why it should be that way.“I didn’t come back to London because I was homesick,” she told him, deciding it was best to simply tell him before she lost her nerve. “I came back as an escape of sorts…”She gave a slight sigh, picking up the last of her miniature sandwiches, but not starting on it just yet. In many ways she wished telling him was easier. Very few people knew the whole story…Akiva was the only person who knew that she saw on a relatively regular basis and had been the first one she had told the whole story too, even if it had been a bit of an understated version.“I met a Muggle in Boston who I dated for about a year,” she told him. “I thought I could trust him, and I told him that I was a Witch. What I didn’t realize was how backwards his way of thinking was or that some Muggles still believed Witches to be servants of the Devil. So, needless to say he did not take the news with much grace.”That wasn’t the key part of the story, and she didn’t want to spend too much time on the subject, so she pushed on, “He contacted me a week later and convinced me he wanted to apologize for the whole thing in person. I went…naturally I still trusted him despite what he had said...I wrote it off as some gut reaction and assumed he had calmed himself and thought rationally about everything.“There was a group waiting for me when I arrived…They ambushed me inside and as I looked around at them, taking in the faces of the men surrounding me, I could see their intention quite clearly in their eyes. It’s all a bit of a blur after that really…”She took a bite of the sandwich chewing a bit for a moment in thought. She barely remembered escaping. One of them had managed to give her a gash on her neck and adrenaline had taken over that the point. She had managed to away from them long enough to apparate, but how she had managed to do it in a state of show she wasn’t quite sure of, even now.“After that I was constantly looking over my shoulder whenever I would venture out of Salem’s Peak, and that is no way to live,” she told him. “The job posting here caught my attention and I did everything I could to get it. I just had to get out of there…My ex showed up in London during my second week home, but it seems he’s lost interest and gone home. Thankfully…It’s a chapter of my life I just want to be over.”She sighed slightly and said, “So, like I said, it just seems like it’s been one thing after another.” She took another bite, waiting for what he might say. She found herself silently hoping he would simply be the friend she was looking for, and not try to convince her to get the Ministry involved. Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #13 on June 09, 2009, 06:11:19 PM She had to know that Marcus' first reaction would be to get the Ministry involved. They haven't been friends long, but she had to know Marcus' need for justice. The reserved look on Moira's face told it's own story though. Marcus untensed himself, "That's the problem with anyone too closed-minded. Top that with self-righteous religious fervor, and you have a recipe for trouble. I may not know what you went through, but I can tell you that I had an experience like that."He took a moment to sip his tea, giving Moira a chance to untense as well. "When I was fighting the IRA back in '95, I had to tend to a bullet wound in one of my squadmates. I didn't have anything to extract the metal from his body, so I pulled out my wand. I gave him some painkillers and stood up to find a gun to my head.""Another man in my squad thought I was the Devil, just like those idiots in Salem. Religious man, gun nut, short temper... not the kind of guy you want thinking of you as something other than a kindred spirit, you know? So I knocked him out before he could pull the trigger and I erased his memory. I've never been too good at that kind of magic though, and I accidentally made him forget the last month of his life. Fortunately, no one else in the squad found out my secret.""You know, I've never told anyone that story before. Not even Alex." Marcus took another sip of his tea, then decided to down what was left in the cup. "As the Minister of Magic, and with my background, my first instinct is to advise you ask for Ministry assistance. If this guy is still in London, and I can guarantee you he still is, he needs to be found." Marcus sighed, knowing full well what she wanted. "Seeing as how you didn't tell me this sooner, and by that look on your face, you'd prefer that I didn't do anything. For you Moira, I will back off and let you handle it. If you do need the help, then let me know. You know how to get a hold of me."Marcus poured another cup of tea. "So the question is then, what do you want to do to solve this problem? I ask, not as the Minister, but as a friend." Skip to next post Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #14 on June 10, 2009, 12:58:57 PM She felt a bit of relief that the first words from him weren’t some sort of insistence that she tell her story to the proper Ministry officials. However, she was a bit surprised at the story he told her. She had sensed from their conversations he had seen quite a bit in his work, but specifics had yet to be discussed. After the comment about gun wounds the story seemed to fit and she listened, taking in what he was saying. She could only imagine the things he might have seen while working against the IRA. She knew enough about the reasons for the fighting and had tried to look at it as a detached bystander, but the whole conflict and the death toll made her sick. Too many innocent people had been killed or maimed, a senseless and unnecessary danger during any armed conflict.“You know, I've never told anyone that story before. Not even Alex."She gave him a sad smile, part of her wondering how much else he had never expressed to anyone. It was probably a bit of a normal response. She had only seen a little bit of terror and hardship, but she had initially had to force herself to talk about even that.“Sometimes it seems easier to ignore something like that,” she said as he took a sip of tea. “I think it really just makes it hard to accept and move on from in the long run.”When he started to speak again, she felt a bit of dread that he might be insisting she seek additional help. She also felt body tense a bit at the thought that her ‘shadow’ as she had come to think of him might still be in London. She wasn’t sure if she agreed with that statement, after all she had dated the man for a year. However, Marcus was certainly the one with the experience in this case and that made her ready to believe she could be completely wrong."Seeing as how you didn't tell me this sooner, and by that look on your face, you'd prefer that I didn't do anything. For you Moira, I will back off and let you handle it. If you do need the help, then let me know. You know how to get a hold of me."“Thank you,” she said softly, relieved he was willing to back off and let her do this in the way she thought was best. “I really just want to move on and not have to dwell on what happened any longer.”His question caught her a bit off guard, especially the caveat to the statement. She had gotten quite good as thinking of him as Marcus, her friend and not the Minister of Magic. Yet, she knew he was right when he mentioned the fact that she had not told him sooner because she had been a bit afraid of his reaction. She wasn’t sure if that was why she felt a bit flustered at hearing him refer to himself as her friend.“Honestly, my life is all in the Wizarding world,” she told him. “In theory I should be able to avoid him completely. I know he’ll grow bored, if he hasn’t already and he has a life back in Boston. Surely the importance to that will win out.”She was sure she sounded a bit daft, thinking if she ignored the problem it would simply go away. She just didn’t want a confrontation, and she didn’t want anyone else stuck in the middle. She had made this mess, and it was hers to clean up. She was doing that the best way she could, but avoiding anywhere her ‘shadow’ might find her.“I know him, Marcus,” she said. “He may be manipulative and obsessive, but he’s not an idiot. He has a successful business in Boston and he won’t risk it going under over me. He saw an opening…he found out I went home somehow and knew home meant London. It’s not like Salem’s Peak where we were completely sheltered from the Muggle world, so he figured he could get to me here.” Skip to next post
Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. All she needed was an hour more… Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. You seem like such a busy person." Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #6 on May 12, 2009, 11:24:03 AM Moira seated herself at the table as well, taking one of the mini-sandwiches. Skip to next post

I think the last time we actually spoke to one another was a week ago at the Welcoming Ceremony." Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #8 on May 17, 2009, 03:30:55 PM Moira managed a smile at his appreciation around her sandwich. She was attempting to respond, but chewing didn't seem to be happening fast enough. Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. (Marcus) Reply #9 on May 31, 2009, 10:29:36 AM It took Marcus a moment to process what Moira had just said. Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. "I haven't found a way to do so yet..." Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are. I ask, not as the Minister, but as a friend." Skip to next post
Re: [May 7th] Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are.
