[Oct. 12] Lost and Found [OPEN]

on May 25, 2012, 04:14:40 PM

If you'd listened very closely you could hear Alexia mumbling as she practically ran through the library after her last class was over. "Where is it, where is it, where is it?" she muttered under her breath, looking anywhere and everywhere for her lost posession. She really should blame herself, as she already did, for leaving her pocket-notepad with her library books when returning them and losing it in the process.

"Damn it, it could be anywhere by now," Alexia sighed after she'd searched on every shelf and on every table, "somebody must've accidentally borrowed it..." With an angry huff Alexia sat down in a chair, with her hands tangled in her hair. All her notes were in that little thing, every thing she found importan to remember was on those charmed-to-be-endless pages; how was she ever going to survive without it? She was growing more and more panicked every second; there weren't only class-notes in there...all her dreams and goals, her highs and lows, all her secrets were in that note-pad! For someone who thrives to keep her true self hidden to protect herself, a simple thing as her goal in life getting known was a horrifying thought, never mind her secret about the st-...you catch my drift.

On the brink of crying she sat there and in her silent despair she forgot to put up her cover, her rude-shell, for only a minute, exhausted by the search. Her true self was showing, even if it was only a glimpse; the young woman who tried to please everybody, who longed to be found worthy of pride and praise; the skinny Ravenclaw who simply wanted to laugh openly but found she couldn't, she didn't deserve happiness yet; it all showed in that one minute. And in that one minute she didn't notice someone approaching her.

"Have you tried accio?" Peyton said with a bemused smile as he walked past Alexia. In the five years he had known her he didn't think he had ever seen her so  . . . distraught. Despite having both been Ravenclaws since their sorting Alexia wasn't one of the girls he usually spent his time with, then again aside from Alex and Andy there weren't many girls he spent his time with at all.

He stopped by her table and ran a hand through his dark hair. His cool grey blue eyes sparkled, his broad muscled chest (toned from his years on the Quidditch team) fit nicely into his school uniform, the only thing dishevelled about him was his hair and the slightest hint of five o'clock shadow on his cheeks, "I tend to use that whenever I've lost my quill which happens to be - a lot!" He chuckled offering her a perfectly charming smile.

He glanced back towards the front of the library where the door to Mr. Morgan's office was, "If that doesn't work you could always ask Mr. Morgan if anyone's turned - whatever it is in. Not much happens in this place without him knowing about it." And truth be told Peyton was rather intimidated by the daunting blonde Head of Slytherin. He was not a man you wanted to mess with.

"I did try that, to be honest," Alexia said with her usual know-it-all manner of speaking, shield instantly put back, "but it might be a good idea to run by mr Morgan, yes..." she added, slightly less harsh. It didn't take long before she sighed and apologised to her fellow Ravenclaw; "I'm sorry Peyton, you know how I am during happy moments, imagine me in a bad one..." she chuckled a little, "have you upped your training lately? You look totally ripped," she said smiling.

It was not a secret that Alexia was out of the closet, but many people simply didn't bother to ask...and well...it just so happened that she had to continuously repeat herself on the matter, apparently she wasn't really gossip material; not that she minded. Alexia was pretty sure Peyton already knew about her sexuality, as well as he probably knew his warm smile was always welcome to Alexia.

She rarely let her shield down, but she found that with some fellow Ravenclaws she could  relax, relate even, if only a little, but only when with two, no more; crowds unnerved her...

With a sigh she looked around, her velvet soft hair following her heads every move as she looked around her one more time, as if hoping the accio would kick in later, which of course it wouldn't, and she rested her head on her hand, carefully avoiding her lips as to not get red lipstick all over the place.

"I don't think my note-pad is in the library anymore...and I better not bother mr Morgan at this hour," a light shiver shook Alexia at the thought. "Well I suppose there's nothing to do here anymore than, is there..." she ended, a little bit of sadness stll in her eyes.

"Ah no worries darling," He waved his hand in dismissal of her curt manner. At this point it was all just part of the package. He was used to women snapping at him or at least just acting odd around him. He supposed he'd never understand them not that he ever wanted to. Girls were good friends most of the time but that was all he really needed out of them. Much like Alexia herself Peyton's own sexuality wasn't much of a secret anymore, especially not after he was seen snogging Razzy during the Valentine's dance last year. For a moment he wondered just how many open students there actually were in Ravenclaw, a lot more than in the other houses, at least that he knew of.

A light blush came to his cheeks with her compliment, even if he wasn't interested, he was still a modest man, "Thanks, with getting the Captaincy I've really been pushing myself to train harder." It was no secret that Peyton's school dream had come true in the form of making Quidditch Captain, it was just one step closer to his life long goal of going pro.

Peyton pouted slightly, "Cheer up Beautiful. You want some help finding it? Where do you think it'd be if it's not here?"

Alexia smiled warmly at the compliment before twisting her face in a thoughtfull frown, "well," she started, "I remember putting it in between a volume of 'Pegasi and their powers' and 'Twists and Turns, the truth behind magic mazes'; I've looked for both of them already but apparently they're borrowed out," she said tiredly, "if I'm correct the person who borrowed one of the two, or both for that matter, would have my notepad..." she drifted off thinking of possible people to borrow that book, the one person more horrifying than the other; not because of looks or something, but because being curious of a blabbermouth, or both!

"Peyton, thank you for offering to help me, I really need some help as you can she," she gestured towards herself, "maybe you don't know by words but you know how much that notepad means to me; a smart guy like you must've realised I had it with me at all times and never left a room without it...

"Do you have any idea who could've gotten a hold of my notepad? Perhaps you've seen someone walking around with one of the two books I mentioned?" she asked, tired and out of ideas, but extremely glad there now was someone to help her out.

Peyton nodded along, trying to think of whether he had ever seen those books before. They made him think of Ancient Greece, he was fascinated by Greek Mythology and had just finished a fascinating [urlhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percy_Jackson_%26_the_Olympians]muggle series[/url] Helena had gotten him into over the summer that had modernized most of the myths. However considering the fact that they were in a Wizarding school he doubted the reader was interested in the tie the books may have to muggle literature.

Peyton blushed again, not because of the compliment but because he didn't think it was true. Peyton wasn't all that observant and he didn't exactly think of himself as being smart. If he was being completely honest he didn't think he had ever noticed Alexia's notebook before but he wasn't about to tell the girl that. When it came right down to it Peyton didn't think he even belonged in Ravenclaw. Alex said he was smart he just didn't apply himself and he was definitely ambitious but only when it came to Quidditch.

"Yeah sure, I mean I'd love to help." He put his hand to his chin rubbing the smallest amount of stubble that had collected there, "I haven't seen any one around with the books recently but given the nature maybe one of the foreign students checked them out. After all wasn't there a maze the last time they did this Tournament thing?"
