Vivian stands at a proud five-foot-nine, a height that she loves, seeing as it isn't too tall or too small. Her eyes are a chocolate brown with golden flecks lining the pupil. In the light, her eyes reflect and appear to be a very light color.

She has slightly tanned skin that accents her dark, brunette, wavy hair. Sometimes her hair is mistaken for being much darker than it is. Most of the time, Vivian has her hair put up in a tight French braid or a high ponytail, hairstyles that were frequent in her school years. A bad habit of hers is letting her side bangs fall in front of her face, making her appear mysterious and introspective.

 Vivian weighs 125 pounds, most of which is muscle. Every morning she has the same yoga/workout routine, which she performs to give herself the extra boost of energy and help to keep her well defined muscles toned and keep her strength at its maximum. She has a neat scar etched across the small of her back from when she was ambushed by her suspect. No matter how hard she tries to tan, that scar always stays a bright white color, reminding her constantly to be on her feet and ready for anything.

When Vivian was little (we’re talking five or six years old) nobody would have guessed that the timid little brunette would grow up and be destined to carry a badge or a “license to kill.” (It’s mostly just an expression.) Vivian was the kid in the room that would sit in the corner alone, showing no interest in the outside world or people who would try and talk to her. It changed when she met her neighbor, Quinn.

Quinn was the turning point in Vivian’s life.

She was bright and vibrant; her smile would literally light up a whole room. She was strong and caring, always one to hold out a hand to pull Vivian back on her feet. When they were both nine, tragedy struck, taking Quinn from this world in a freak car accident; it made Vivian realize how short life was, and how sometimes you just needed to hold on and let it take you wherever you may go. 

Over the course of the time she spent in Hogwarts, she found new friends like her in Gryffindor. Chivalrous. Brave. Courageous. They were loyal to their friends and hard on their enemies. The kind of people you wanted on your side, and the kind you were scared to cross, most of the time.

As the old saying goes, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." This quote applies directly to Vivian, whose fierce outlook on life drives her to live it to the fullest. Even through the ups and downs on her current job, she still finds a way to slip in the lesson she's learned into her everyday life.

Although we’d love to think of it like this, everyone has their vices. For Vivian, it’s the fact that she finds it hard to let people in. Her guard is up almost all the time, and she rarely lets people get close unless they show her that they can be trusted. That they aren’t going to turn around and stab her in the back. (Figuratively of course!)

Nightmares seem to frequent Vivian’s unconscious, from time to time without any real provoking. These dreams can range from anything to do with her dead friend Quinn, to the fact that she was a prosecuted and tried Muggleborn during Voldemort’s reign of terror over the wizarding world. After these dreams, Vivian will be stressed, agitated, and irritable. Best advice would be to back off from her when she gets like this or she might just bite your head off. (Again with the figure of speech.)

Vivian was brought into the Callen family on All-Hallows Eve, 1978. Her magical outbursts were very strong when she was young, beginning when she was about seven years old. They first found out about it when she was had came downstairs, red sparks buzzing about her; she had been screaming her head off. Once they got her to calm down, the sparks turned blue before popping out of existence. Her parents, Jessica and Alex, were freaked out of their minds, seeing as they were two muggles. Finally, a representative from the MoM came and talked to them about their daughter being a witch.

Upon arriving at Hogwarts in 1989, Vivian was an energetic and brawny eleven year-old.  Still coping with the death of her best friend Quinn, she threw herself into her school work. It was her way of dealing with the pain, and her hard work paid off.

Nearing the end of her school career, Vivian was named prefect for her sixth and seventh year. Her responsibilities were numerous, and she took her position very seriously. Although she was tempted to goof off or pull pranks with her fellow Griffie’s, Vivian abstained from it, making sure she was a good role model for the younger classes who needed people to look up to.

After an end of the year career fair, Vivian walked away from the Auror table with a renewed vigor. She was going to be an Auror. No matter what it took or how she got there, it was going to happen. And it did. After being in training for three years, over that time of course she was committed to making sure she worked hard and made it count, she received her rank as ‘Auror’ proudly; excitedly dropping off ‘trainee’ from the end of her title.

In the beginning, she practiced improving her defense spells, making sure she was equipped for when the time came to use them. The second war was still fresh on everyone’s minds, and people were scared to trust one another. Being a new Auror and not too big of a veteran from the war, Vivian had been sort of left in the dust behind others who were being promoted ahead of her.

During the Second War, and when it was totally obvious that everything was going downhill from there, Vivian fled the ministry in hopes of being safe. Soon after she got away though, she began to regret her decision immediately. Vivian had left friends and co-workers behind just to preserve her own well-being. With this on her minds, she headed back. After avoiding near misses with people who would’ve killed her on spot, she was able to make it back in time to aid in evacuating Hogwarts. She had been in Hogsmeade at the time of the Battle of Hogwarts; and all of a sudden, multitudes of students were pouring through the town. Many of them confused and scared, or just hopelessly disoriented, Vivian was one of the many people who helped to get them to safety.

After six years of being an Auror, Vivian was sent on a minor case to apprehend a criminal.

Normally this job was reserved for a Hit Wizard, and they had a few on backup, but they wouldn’t be there in time. Vivian and her partner had gone alone to bring down the known criminal. As they walked down the small alleyway, Vivian was taken out from behind, and her partner killed.

The Hit Wizard had barely arrived in time, but saved her life. After going to St. Mungo’s with the repercussions of a nasty curse, Vivian returned to headquarters with a feeling of need. She needed to prove to herself that next time, she would be ready. Next time, she would be okay. Next time, no one would get hurt.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Vivian has been an Auror for nine years, twelve if you include the necessary three from being a trainee. As an Auror in the DoMLE, Vivian is responsible for investigating crimes, especially the usage of dark magic.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field: Vivian’s OWL scores included Ancient Runes (O), Astronomy (A), Charms (O), DADA (E), Divination (O), Herbology (O), History of Magic (E), Potions (E), and Transfiguration (E). Vivian also excelled in her NEWTS, DADA (E), Charms (E), Transfigurations (E), and Potions (E), Herbology (O), Ancient Runes (O).  She was a prefect for her sixth and seventh years at Hogwarts, giving her time to improve upon her leadership skills. She passed her Auror training (1997 - 2000) with flying colors, doing particularly well in self-defense and close combat. Vivian has been an Auror for nine years (2000-2009).


Sum up your character in one paragraph: Vivian is a tough woman. A don’t-mess-with-me-unless-you’ve-got-a-death-wish sort of girl. Secretly, under all of the layers of her guard, she has a soft heart and a love for flirting. Vivian strives to do her best and prove herself with the DoMLE to the best of her ability’s. Every day is a struggle though, because most of the people who used to stick by her are gone and she feels alone. The comfort of going to work every day (and most of the time night) provides an outlet for Vivian to focus on her duties to the public, and to herself.
