[Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) on May 06, 2012, 07:21:10 PM 3:36PMAlfonz had grown fonder of the days where he was able to stay home, worry about nothing, and go wherever he wanted. On days like this, he stayed as far away from the wizarding world as possible. It was simple; out of sight… out of mind. Every day had become a nightmare. Every night, he had nightmares. Slowly but surely, a five o’clock shadow had grown and there were small dark circles starting to droop beneath his eyes. He looked awful, and felt pretty much the same way. It was that reason, and that alone, that he found himself taking a bus toward downtown London.Alfonz had this barber that he went to. The same barber that he’d gone to since he was a child, and just because change happened, didn’t mean it had to happen for everything. Alfonz craved a little bit of normal in his life. His barbers name was Tom, and Alfonz had never known a nicer man in his life. He did what Alfonz told him to do, and only talked about important things. He kept the small chat down to a minimum, and got the job done just as he was supposed to. Alfonz liked people like that. Very different from the ones he worked with; Tom was very different than wizards.Alfonz was surprised at the amount of muggles on the bus that day. When he got on the bus, it was packed. Only a few seats left and none of them were in any places that he would have really enjoyed sitting. Analyzing the crowd where seats were still had, Alfonz tried to pick the least of the five evils.Person number one was grossly overweight making it so the empty seat was also half occupied; person number two looked as if they had the plague and had the most diseased sounding cough that Alfonz had ever heard. Alfonz had a shiver climb up his back and he made a sound of disgust and then moved on. Person three was a woman with a crying infant. Person four was a priest, reading a Bible and looked as if he were planning a service of sorts. And finally, the last but not least person number five was wearing a wife beater, had dread locks, and taking up the seat next to him with a old looking guitar case. Alfonz really didn’t want to sit next to any of these people, especially dread locks because after a minute of starring, he noticed that the boy consistently was itching himself pretty much everywhere on his body. Alfonz came back to peson number one. If he squeezed and held his breath at least he wouldn’t catch the plague, be bothered with a crying child, be preached to, or get scabies. Alfonz took his chances.Walking up to the woman, Alfonz tried his hardest to smile cordially and nodded his head. “This seat open, ma’am?” She smiled and did the last thing Alfonz wanted her to do. She got herself up, and gestured him into the window seat. Of course, Alfonz thought to himself trying not to curse under his breath. “Thank you.”The next few stops were brutal, especially since there were almost ten until his. It was almost too much for him, and by the third stop Alfonz thought about moving to a different seat any ways. Looking around, he saw that there were even less seats than before. Are you kidding me? Alfonz shook his head. Stop four was upon them and the woman looked at Alfonz and smiled sweetly. “My stop!” She said excitedly. Alfonz couldn’t be more relieved, his eyes rolling into the back of his head as he closed his lids and said, “Thank Merlin” to no one in particular. After the woman uprooted herself and her buttocks from both seats (mostly Alfonz’s lap), Alfonz was quick to jump to the row seat. There would be no more interruptions and no more seat buddies like that if he had anything to do with it. Letting out a sigh of relief, Alfonz turned his gaze out the window. Only a few more stops to go, and then some much needed relaxation time. She was perfectly capable of getting downtown by herself, but she was just leaving her flat, and it was so much easier to be a muggle sometimes. She didn't have to hide and could just get off right in front of the shops. She was in need of a couple of new things, and they didn't have to be magic. Josephine found there be a certain charm in muggle journals. Wizarding ones were fine, but they ultimately only came in parchment, and were too expensive for what she needed them for. She wasn't poor, but she wasn't living in the lap of luxury either, no matter how she wished she was. So, stepping out onto the sidewalk, Josephine saw the bus coming down the street and sighed with relief, opening her purse to grab the pass she kept, just in case. Being right on the route was an added bonus to the neighborhood, that and the fact none of the neighbors bothered her. She lived virtually unbothered. Waiting at the head of the line - Josephine was almost always the head of the line, and waited as only a few clamored off the bus. Joie recognized the... larger woman who climbed off. She had quite a sum of money, and strangely enough, a river of beaus who came in and out of the building, presumably willingly as they brought and sent gifts constantly. Josephine was a bit of a people watcher, and got bored when she sat home, so she knew much about the people she lived near, without actually having to interact with them. After she finished off, Josephine climbed on, sliding her card and gaining entrance, with her choice of the very few seats left. With a frown, she noted that there was only one seat next to a person who did no appear to carry some kind of physical or social plague with him, and she very snappily brought herself to the seat and sat, deposited herself as gracefully as one could on a public bus. "Pardon," she apologized as her leg brushed against his, turning her body slightly once the other less lucky riders found another seat, or stood. It was that quick that she’d not only gotten on the bus, but squeezed herself past his legs and into the window seat he had moved from to make sure that no one would try sitting next to him. Alfonz’s brows furrowed and he looked around, trying to figure out how unperceptive he’d been. Was he really getting that distracted from the life around him? Alfonz could only believe that this was the essence of his very last brain cells kicking the bucket. I am really starting to lose it.Looking back towards his seat mate, he noticed though, that thankfully she did not seem to be ill or the preachy type. However, instead to his luck, a somewhat decent looking woman had sat next to him. “No problem,” he answered back gruffly from her apology. Alfonz eyes traveled from the girls legs towards her head, noticing her build. He wasn’t as surprised anymore with her quick stealth to getting into the seat, but rather surprised she’d actually hit his legs coming into the seat in the first place.Lifting a hand to scratch his cheek, Alfonz remembered exactly what he’d looked into the mirror at this morning. Not being one to be overly conscious about his own appearance, Alfonz realized that he probably didn’t look much better than the other passengers. Ugh he thought to himself, not being able to wait much longer to get to the barber shop. His face had to be shaved up, hair trimmed, and something had to be done about the lack of sleep he’d been getting. He needed some tea. The bus started to move again, and just as Alfonz thought the bus ride wouldn’t be too much of a hassle anymore, he noticed that the last of the riders whom were standing started to migrate to the back of the bus to stand. Alfonz looked towards the back of the bus and frowned. The amount of people that were still standing compared to where he was located on the bus, Alfonz knew that there would be standing right next to him. The line lined up appropriately and passed the seat that Alfonz sat in, making it so he had to lean in closer to the woman who had sat with him. He tried not to get too close to her, but Alfonz knew that there was no longer any personal space between the two of them. Looking back from the person standing next to him and toward the woman, he shrugged his shoulders. “I guess it could be worse,” Aflonz snorted, “you could be ugly.” Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #3 on May 06, 2012, 09:18:25 PM Josephine did not worry about what people thought of her. In her expensive outfits, with perfectly done up hair, and discreet, but polished make-up, people looked at her, but she didn't look back, not most of the time. Josephine had missions. She treated everything like a mission: specific destinations, targets, and marks. In this case, it wasn't a particularly important mission, but it was a mission nonetheless and she had things to do. It was just a matter of necessity that she took a seat as quickly as possible, and next to someone who didn't smell like curry or sweat. That was pleasant. Brushing against one person was a reasonable thing to do in the course of a mission, and he didn't seem to mind. Josephine couldn't see why he would if she didn't. She wasn't high maintenance when she wasn't in England, but here, she felt there was some expectation of comfort that she wasn't going to get anywhere else, so she lived to the luxury of the whole thing, Josephine glanced out of the window of the moving machine. It was only a few stops, really, and she could survive, she'd sat next to worse people before. There had even been enough room before people lined up and filled up the entire center of the bus, causing Josephine to sigh heavily. It was going to be a mess getting out of this thing. the ride was going to take that much longer. How had she not judged a better time to actually get on transit? She should have taken the tube. She didn't expect being spoken to again, but when she was, Josephine blinked for a moment, and then a slow, languid smirk spread across her lips. "You are lucky then," she quipped, lifting her chin, so that she cold give him the once over. He wasn't completely unfortunate, worn for sure, but muggles did that. "Because of all things I am, ugly is not one of them." Why not? She'd never see this person again. Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #4 on May 06, 2012, 09:34:48 PM At first, Alfonz did not know if he was about to get slapped or spat at. The girl looked surprised of course, but Alfonz was a bit baffled by himself as well. Not only was everything around him in his world crumbling, but he still couldn’t help himself to make jokes at others expense. Even now, as he looked worse for wear, he couldn’t help but try to pick himself a fight. But a fight wasn’t what he had gotten at all, instead, the woman’s at first blank stare turned into a smirk of her own. Because of all things I am, ugly is not one of them.Decent looking and quick witted. That was what he liked about muggle women. Rarely did they have some sort of stick up their asses like most of the women he worked with. Instead, they enjoyed every moment. Alfonz thought about Celina for a quick moment, for she had been the same way. It was probably why she had preferred with muggle world. Bringing his attention back towards the situation at hand Alfonz’s smirk turned slightly into the rare smile he hardly ever gave.Sticking out his hand for hers, he introduced himself. “Alfonz. I’d be honored to know what they call such a lovely creature as yourself.” Alfonz was laying it on so thick that he could hear his inner ego gagging. He tried his hardest to keep it together. Alfonz could feel laughter trying to escape out from him. It’d been a long time since he’d tried anything like this before, and what did it matter? In a few stops either he or she would be gone and Alfonz would go back to his crumby life. At least for these few quick moments, he could enjoy them as being an unprofessional, dimwitted muggle with possibly only one thing on his mind. Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #5 on May 06, 2012, 09:49:47 PM Oh this was too precious. Josephine could not have imagined how her perceived horror at being on a very crowded, very loud bus could turn into amusement in less than a moment. Well, maybe it was more than a moment because his expression morphed. It was like watching a wizarding photo developing. The movement was slow, but sure, as his triumphant smirk at his first comment into an expression surprise, and then gradually, corners of the mouth turned up, and then teeth poked through, and then there was a full grin. Someone was proud of himself. Muggles: so likely to be so proud over something so simple. Josephine didn't mind, she was amused, and she looked at his outstretched hand, wondering just how many germs populated the surface before she put her perfectly manicured hand out to shake, firm enough, but not all grip. She was a lady after all, and they didn't squeeze like cavemen. "A pleasure, Alfonz," she greeted easily, wondering what misfortune one had done in a past life to warrant a name like Alfonz, even its shortened moniker, Al, was not appealing. She didn't even know if she knew anyone named Alfonz ever - not that she could recall off of the top of her head anyway, and licked her bottom lip. "I prefer, of course, lady to creature," she corrected: never one to let something like that slide, "and my name is Josephine." Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #6 on May 06, 2012, 10:16:33 PM Her hand reached for his, and as she did so Alfonz followed the movement of her eyes at first rather than her hand. With the population of this bus, the way he looked, and of course the way she looked and kept herself, Alfonz could only imagine what she was thinking. But her movements weren’t as hesitant as her eyes may have made them seem, and with a firm but lady-like grip, she shook his hand. He shook hers back, briefly humoring the idea of kissing the woman’s hand. The idea fled as quickly as it had come though as the bus started to slow for the fifth stop; half way until his destination.A pleasure, Alfonz. His name rolling off her tongue had a different sound to it. There was no distrust, vile attitude, or even sarcasm. Alfonz had forgotten what that had sounded like, and coming from someone like her, he felt that it was definitely a much needed change. He couldn’t believe how this outing was already beginning to start. If the rest of the day went like this, he’d be ready to take on the world and his job in the morning when he had to return. “The pleasure is all mine,” he said releasing her hand and nodding. It was apparent she was thinking about something for a minute, and then it passed. “Of course you prefer lady,” Alfonz said allowing his smirk to return. “…I should know the difference, I work with creatures.” Alfonz laughed slightly and tried to lean back in his seat, now noticing that some of the intruders of his space had sat in spots that had been vacated at the stop. The bus began to move again. “Josephine is just the name I would have said,” Alfonz’s low voice began with a hint of jest. “It rolls off the tongue nicely.”“Off to anywhere in particular today?” Alfonz wasn’t much for small chat normally, but after names he was unsure of really where else to move a conversation to. This game was not one he found himself winning a lot of the time. Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #7 on May 06, 2012, 10:34:39 PM "I'm sure it is," she allowed with just a slight raise of her own eyebrows, accompanying a brief flash of teeth. She might have asserted she was a lady, but some creature most assuredly came out, and she felt rather like a predator, planning her phrases carefully, not willing to give all that much up, but also not wanting to shut down the amusement. She still had a bit of a ride left, probably five or six stops, by how she figured, and she'd get every moment of enjoyment out of a ridiculous ride as she could, considering the next passenger who sat next to her might smell, or talk to themselves, or pull things from their teeth - any number of behaviors that would have Josephine ready to crawl out of her own skin to get off of the bus and find an alley to apparate out of. Of course, she tried that once and a homeless man had spotted her. Thankfully, he wasn't in the right mind anyway, and nothing had to be done about it - raving about a woman in heels disappearing into nothingness. Just a bit of neighborhood fodder for the crazy man. She mentally cataloged he worked with creatures - she looked at him, perhaps a dog walker, one of those sorts, she figured, by the scruff anyway. "A touch better than Alfonz, I would say," she teased, triumphant smirk still decorating her face. She had no inclination that she might stop anytime soon. Far too fun, and far too easy. "But yes, I am. I require a few things for work," she pointed out, simple enough, and to the point truth. "Now," she eyed him again, "you mentioned working with creatures: did you mean your profession is with animals or your colleagues are sub-human? I dare say, I know the latter is quite plausible in a number of environments." Her own line of work front and center in her mind. Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #8 on May 06, 2012, 10:51:24 PM Alfonz laughed at her remark about his own name. “It definitely wouldn’t have been the one I picked for myself. My father was a proud Polish man, who believed in proud strong sounding names.” Alfonz shrugged. “He believed that starting a child off from the beginning with a weak name was to predetermine their ill fate.” Alfonz nodded slightly, losing himself in the thoughts of his father’s ways and teachings. Bringing himself back to the conversation, he looked at Josephine out of the corner of his eye. “But I agree with you,” he laughed again.Alfonz could tell that her interest in the conversation was rising. For whatever reason that it was, Alfonz didn’t know, but he could only hope it was out of pure interest. Not that he’d ever follow through with it, probably… but either way, an ego boost was something that he could surely use as of late. “Ah, I know all too well about having to go out of your way for work purposes,” Alfonz commented remembering the howler and how he now was needed at the tetrawizarding events. Bloody ridiculous. When she asked her question about the people he worked with however, Alfonz stopped to think. If she were a witch, what she said could mean a totally different variety of things. However, since that could not have been the case, Alfonz smirked again in his own amusement thinking about how she really had no idea.Leaning his head back in the seat of the bus he thought for a moment before answering. “My colleagues are sub-human,” Alfonz stated matter-of-fact like. “Half of them do not comprehend what they are there to do, while others are there just to make my life a living nightmare.” He looked at her directly. “It is why I’m finding your company somewhat,” he paused for dramatic effect, “alluring.” Raising an eyebrow, Aflonz chuckled slightly. Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #9 on May 06, 2012, 11:29:08 PM Josephine might have made a quip about Polish men, but she thought it in ill form to make that sort of assumption, and they were on a crowded bus. She couldn't be sure who would overhear and what context it would be taken in. No, best to keep her moth shut at this juncture. "I suppose I can see some of the legitimacy in that," Josephine finally settled on, "I am, after all, named for an empress." The corners of her eyes crinkled in amusement. Vanity was one of her weaknesses, but she couldn't blame herself. It was just a spot of fun. A brisk laugh fled past her painted lips when he explained about his colleagues. She was certainly amused, wondering just what he did for a living, and how in the context she lived in, it could mean a plethora of things. Creatures, sub-human ones, seemed to permeate a number of professions, from the ministry to where she was stationed to the school. Josephine thought, even if he was a wizard, he certainly wasn't from Gringotts. She'd know him by face. There weren't enough regular humans against the sub-humans to forget a face in the building. "You're not the first person," she matched his expression, "who has said that." Most assuredly not, she thought as the bus stopped, once again, and people shifted, crossing paths they might not ever cross again, and making way for one another in the bustling hub that was London. Josephine took this opportunity to shift in her seat, readjusting her bag on her lap and recrossing her legs to get more comfortable in the seat. She also figured it was a better vantage point to regard the opposition. "I could say the same thing about mine. At the bank," she couldn't help but smile, if only the next statement would make sense to him, she'd just have to keep herself from laughing, "they're positively primitive." Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #10 on May 07, 2012, 12:01:12 AM There was something in her tone as she explained what her name meant, something that caught Alfonz’s attention. Just the way she said that her name was after that of an empress. “I could imagine nothing less from someone such as yourself,” he spoke softly to draw her attention in closer to his. He crossed his arms, slightly pulling away from the conversation. You’re not the first person who has said that. Said the spider to the fly, Alfonz thought to himself. This girl was good, and very confident in herself. Alfonz loved confident and witty women who knew what they want, but at the same time didn’t give in too quickly. What would be the point then? If there was not game to be played then the prize at the end wasn’t worth winning in Alfonz’s opinion. “Oh, I’m not?” his tone was coy and his face expressed a shock that was perceivable fake by any onlooker. Before he could say another word, the bus came to another stop. Only four before his and the distraction caused him another witty line. But he was sure within the next few stops, before he or she left there’d be time for another. People moved around, now no one was in the aisle, and there was plenty of room. However, it didn’t stop Alfonz from slightly leaning her way and looking over his shoulder at her again as the bus started to move once more. She also moved and as she did so, Alfonz noticed as she crossed her legs and became more comfortable… The conversation seemed to be going in the right direction. As Alfonz spoke about his co-workers, he laughed as she did. “Ah, so you’re aware of the kind?” he asked shaking his head, sighing slightly. They’re positively primitive. He could definitely relate to that sentiment exactly. Work was frustrating, and he lost his cool constantly. And then to be able to have a normal conversation to a less developed human than he? It was almost unreal how much better a complete muggle stranger made him feel not only about himself, but of course about life in general. “You ever feel like you have to be a completely different person at your place of employment, rather than when you’re not there?” Alfonz asked wondering if he was the only one. “It’s seems I’m always the bad guy,” he growled playfully at his seatmate, winking as he did so. Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #11 on May 07, 2012, 12:27:42 AM A good game of chess was always fun, but Josephine had always been more partial to Quidditch. A silly part of her, when she was young and stupid, thought she would have gotten her mother's attention by being good at it, that it might have enticed her back into her and her father's life, but that had been a wayward adventure. All it told Josephine was that she grew up with an unresolved sense of anger and aggression that she threw into the pitch, and then into the tombs, jungles, and villages of Africa. Thankfully, time had evened her temper, but when she was a mere youth in Hogwarts, she had been a spitfire with the best of them. "Not at all," Josephine answered crisply, "why I don't even believe you're the first one to say it today," she added, feeling quite proud of herself. This was entertainment at its finest, and with a complete stranger! Josephine was not accustomed to interacting with strangers, particularly now that Gomfrey was dead and the whole thing was becoming quite the spectacle at the office, but on a muggle bus, what really could be the harm of it? Surely she was luckier than to end up next to the only auror on a muggle bus. And even then, neither of them were letting their cover go so easily. Josephine knew how to navigate these things because of her profession, working so closely with covers in Egypt and the West. Anyone else just as good was either another cursebreaker, an auror, or a mugggle. This person had to fall into the last category. Her suspicion was confirmed when he didn't even bat an eye. Anyone who knew the only wizarding bank would understand the reference. Bloody Goblins. It was indecorous to giggle, Josephine realized, so she settled on the sound that came from her mouth with a muffled laugh, and she shook her head, eyes rolling upward. "It seems," she slanted him a look, "it's a role you don't mind playing, if I may be so bold as to say it." And she had, and she had no regrets, because who would have them at this point? "But to answer your question, only when I'm actually at the actual bank. I travel," she smirked, "quite extensively, and yes, being in the building is a bit of a culture shock. Particularly when dealing with idiots." She could name one idiot in particular who was an eternal thorn in her side: Cohen. "But I suppose an extended, international network makes up for some of that," she smiled, a bit of mystery, "Never being in one place for too long certainly helps." Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #12 on May 07, 2012, 09:30:23 AM As she continued to talk about her work place, culture shock… purely primitive, Alfonz took a mental step back and furrowed his brows. Why would a bank be a culture shock? The muggle banks around London were all pretty much the same, and British. Something was starting to add up. Pieces started falling from the conversation that started to intricately put themselves together in Aflonz’s mind. He brushed them away. Even if she were any different than a muggle, at this point it still would not matter. Their encounter would be fun, and then again, they’d probably never see each other again. Alfonz thought about being the ‘bad guy’. “It’s a role that comes natural.” Alfonz restated her comment. “When dealing with celebrities who think their way is gold, colleagues whom think they always are a step ahead of me when they’re really five steps behind, and of course,” Alfonz paused again, lowered his voice and tried to look into Josephine’s eyes, “The feeling of neglect when every beautiful lady believes my heart is three times too small.” Alfonz snorted and had to look away from Josephine. Starting to crack up, not even he could bring himself to keep his normal cold, straight face. Sighing and actually feeling a pang of guilt and sadness. Celina had always told him that if he were nicer he’d get further in life. Alfonz in return would tell her that if she actually put some effort into anything she did she’d be anywhere in life. His hard ‘bad guy’ image had even pushed her away, and Alfonz regretted it. However, as much regret as could be felt, Alfonz knew he’d never fully change. “There are roles to every game,” Alfonz started slowly, shaking away any images of his sister. He was having a good time and didn’t want to ruin it. There was nothing he could do for her by feeling sorry for himself and sitting on a muggle bus. “Two teams to every side,” He turned his head toward the muggle and smirked. “And there are fans to every side. It’s a matter of who is actually strong enough to play the side that doesn't need to be glorified and beloved role model.” He laughed knowing that someday this would all get the better of him. But for today, it worked just fine.“So, you travel?” Alfonz interest peaked. Why would one have to travel for a bank? Alfonz didn’t know too much about banks or how they worked, but he never would have guessed that positions within banks allowed for traveling women. Questionably, Alfonz would have thought that as a man’s profession. Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #13 on May 07, 2012, 04:24:34 PM A peal of laughter escaped Josephine as he described the people he worked with. She knew the types. They came in all forms at Gringotts, those that dripped in gold, just wanting to appraise their stock, the desperate, and then the upstarts who thought they knew everything on the first day of the job, along with the older colleagues who thought they outpaced everyone. Josephine was probably closer to the last category than any of the others, but it certainly didn't stop her. She had no interest in following directions by anyone but herself, her way had worked thus far, after all. "If you're going to frame it in those terms," Josephine quirked one eyebrow at him, her green eyes trained on him, trying to read his expression before she practically purred out, "I must be bad as well." And she dissolved into a fit of quiet laughter, turning her head to look out the window and onto the street once again. She didn't laugh much, and when she did, it was seldom out of... good nature. She laughed at people, not typically with them, and definitely not at herself. She didn't take herself too seriously, but she didn't allow others to have the opportunity to laugh at her either. So it was best to keep in any laughter at her own expense. She listened though, even with her eyes traveling over the passing sidewalk and walking muggles, going about their days in a little bubble of their own. How simple it probably was. If their methods of transportation indicated anything, their lives did not involve too much mystery, not a lot of unanswered questions in the way of how things worked - and probably no linger "whys" when considering. Josephine didn't imagine her mind would ever be truly fulfilled if that were the case in her life. "Sports metaphors?" she turned her gaze back toward him, appraising his analysis. "How masculine." There was neither a judgment nor a celebration of it, just the fact. At his next question, Josephine let a slow smile spread across her face. The bus was approaching its next stop, and she glanced up at the route. Still three more before she was getting off. "Often," she answered easily, "When you work in insuring antiques and artifacts, sometimes you have to travel to ensure the best service." It was something like that, at least. "And we have a number of international patrons, who sometimes require appraisals." She shook her head as the bus slowed to a stop, "I won't bore you with the little details," she smiled, "I can't imagine that being something a bad man such as yourself might be interested in, unless you intend to embark on a new career in robbery?" Skip to next post Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #14 on May 07, 2012, 05:17:02 PM Alfonz smirked, his laughing only continuing when hers did. “You might be bad?” Alfonz restated her response as a question making a subtle sound and shaking his head as he did so. He rested his left arm on the arm rest and nodded. “Well, that is what we might have to determine. However, I must make a note…” Alfonz stated, his right hand now scratching his chin as if he were thinking. “Good and bad don’t nearly play as well together.” Alfonz nodded his head and crossed his arms.Alfonz had almost not noticed the bus stop before it had started back up again. Scolding himself to pay attention, Alfonz dreaded the idea of having to stay on the bus until it made the route back. By that time, Tom’s place would be closed for the evening and Alfonz would be stuck looking like a homeless muggle. That would not be a good start to tomorrow morning at all.Keeping his mind in both worlds, he smirked at her comment. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” Alfonz scoffed slightly. “Unfortunately, ever since gradeschool sports have been a determining factor of my life. So, I tend to see the world the same way.” Alfonz shrugged. Quidditch was everywhere in his head twenty four, seven. He may not have been able to play it anymore because of his leg, which his hand had instinctively rested on after he had talked about sports, but even now it was a part of his life. Though, as of recent the Tetrawizarding tournament had his manly hood in its death grip of a grasp. Insurance of old and artifact kinds of items and appraisals; Alfonz could now see clearly why that would in fact being a woman’s job. No man would be able to sit still long enough for that to be anywhere near interesting, or at least all the men that Alfonz knew. Alfonz nodded his head taking every detail that she did give to him in, and then was very relieved when she said she didn’t want to bore him anymore. Interesting… he thought to himself keeping his face as straight as he could hold it. “Well, as fun as robbery sounds,” Alfonz joked openly, “I don’t like to get my hands dirty. I might be the bad guy, but I’d at least like to argue that everything I do to a degree is law abiding.”Alfonz smirked, leaned his head back on the seat and closed his eyes. The bus was slowing down once more, only two stops left.“After all, no one got anywhere quickly sitting in a cell block, counting down the days till death." Skip to next post
Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #1 on May 06, 2012, 07:58:01 PM It wasn't as though Josephine needed to use the public transit. Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #2 on May 06, 2012, 08:24:05 PM If she were a snake, she would have been an anaconda and eaten him alive. “I guess it could be worse,” Aflonz snorted, “you could be ugly.” Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #3 on May 06, 2012, 09:18:25 PM Josephine did not worry about what people thought of her. Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #4 on May 06, 2012, 09:34:48 PM At first, Alfonz did not know if he was about to get slapped or spat at. Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #5 on May 06, 2012, 09:49:47 PM Oh this was too precious. "I prefer, of course, lady to creature," she corrected: never one to let something like that slide, "and my name is Josephine." Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #6 on May 06, 2012, 10:16:33 PM Her hand reached for his, and as she did so Alfonz followed the movement of her eyes at first rather than her hand. Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #7 on May 06, 2012, 10:34:39 PM "I'm sure it is," she allowed with just a slight raise of her own eyebrows, accompanying a brief flash of teeth. Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #8 on May 06, 2012, 10:51:24 PM Alfonz laughed at her remark about his own name. Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #9 on May 06, 2012, 11:29:08 PM Josephine might have made a quip about Polish men, but she thought it in ill form to make that sort of assumption, and they were on a crowded bus. At the bank," she couldn't help but smile, if only the next statement would make sense to him, she'd just have to keep herself from laughing, "they're positively primitive." Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #10 on May 07, 2012, 12:01:12 AM There was something in her tone as she explained what her name meant, something that caught Alfonz’s attention. Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #11 on May 07, 2012, 12:27:42 AM A good game of chess was always fun, but Josephine had always been more partial to Quidditch. "But I suppose an extended, international network makes up for some of that," she smiled, a bit of mystery, "Never being in one place for too long certainly helps." Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #12 on May 07, 2012, 09:30:23 AM As she continued to talk about her work place, culture shock… purely primitive, Alfonz took a mental step back and furrowed his brows. Skip to next post
Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #13 on May 07, 2012, 04:24:34 PM A peal of laughter escaped Josephine as he described the people he worked with. "And we have a number of international patrons, who sometimes require appraisals." She shook her head as the bus slowed to a stop, "I won't bore you with the little details," she smiled, "I can't imagine that being something a bad man such as yourself might be interested in, unless you intend to embark on a new career in robbery?" Re: [Oct 16] Magical Bus Rides (Josephine/Open) Reply #14 on May 07, 2012, 05:17:02 PM Alfonz smirked, his laughing only continuing when hers did.
