Physical Description: Shelby is a petit girl, she stands about three inches shorter than her usual classmate and is often timed confused with a little first year.  She has long wavy, often out of control, blonde hair. For the meantime though she decided that she was going to put color streaks in  it, experimenting with it trying to make herself look a little older being a preteen and all. She has blue-ish green eyes that she gets from her mother. She has freckles that dance across her nose and her ears are slightly pointed, many people used to make fun of them because they thought of her as a little leprechaun.

Personality Description: Don’t let the green robes fool you, Shelby is fun loving girl that enjoys many simple games. She tends to find amusement in little things that others may not find all that interesting like counting how many stairs she walks up in a day. Her ambitious drive is what landed her into Slytherin. She has a way of always trying to prove her worth to the people she knows and there is no point in education if she isn’t the top in her class and if that means beating out those silly Ravenclaw know-it-alls… then so be it. She is quite determined when it comes to that and anything else that she puts her mind to. If she decides that she needs to fit all of her wardrobe into one trunk… even if she has to find an elephant to put on her trunk she will! She has enough downfalls to balance her out, like her stubborn attitude that goes side-by-side with her determination… some cannot tell the difference between the two. Think headedness is something that she needed when growing up, she needed to be able to convince herself of things that may or may not be true. Like she refuses to think that her father is alive, why would her father leave her and her mother and not let Shelby know that she was magical? That is just a silly concept. Ignorance is something that Shelby doesn’t quite understand about herself but when the rumors about Slytherins being mean and unruly people pop up she is quite confused by it. She is also confused as to why it is such a bad thing for her to be raised by a muggle; she has managed to learn how to keep that little fact to herself. She also doesn’t realize that when she is being blunt that people may not necessarily take it as a good thing. Lastly, her short temper, she may have a younger brother at home, but she was the princess in the family who grew up around boys who constantly picked on her. So if she decides that something is wrong or obnoxious she will scream. Quite loud. Maybe high pitched.

History: Shelby Marie grew up in a small town outside of Bangor, Ireland with her muggle mother. She enjoyed the little game of hopscotch and football. She was a wondrous child full of curiosity. When she reached 11 years of age she received her Hogwarts letter. Her mother had to sit down with her and simply explain that it was a boarding school for special children such as her and that her father, whom they really speak of, also had the wonderful opportunity to attend as well.

Growing up in a small town surrounded by neighbors full of muggle boys she learned quite a bit about not letting others push her down without proper revenge. She gained quite a mouth and being the weird little Irish witch girl she had developed a way of mouthing off to people who she felt deserved it.

Her first year of Hogwarts proved to be interesting, growing up basically a muggleborn and being in a house that were mostly pure-bloods led her to realizing that no matter what world you live in boys still are gross and have cooties. She passed her classes with mostly Os except for flying, she had developed a terrible fear of heights. She passed but barely.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Shelby is a Slytherin through-and-through. She has a strong ambition to prove herself to everyone around her. She is a very proud girl and isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in, whether it is right or wrong. She is a very soulful person, full of happy personality, but make her annoyed and she will yell at you till the end of time, making valid, blunt points.

Writing Sample: Shelby tugged at her skirt as she got off the train for the first time. Looking up at the castle she realized that it was a little cliché for what she was used to, after all there is no such things as fairy tales, her mother had always made that clear. She stumbled along with all of the other first years. All of them quite odd, some of them mumbling about the houses that their parents were sorted into, Shelby couldn’t help but to feel that was a pointless thing to talk about after all it wasn’t their parents that decided where they would end up, it was themselves.

She took in the stunning sites as they crossed the lake. One particularly annoying boy seemed to think that it was funny to splash the poor girl. “Excuse me, but did your mother teach you manners or do they not care in London?” she said in her think Irish accent. She felt like this was going to be a very long school experiment if the boys were still as annoying as they were back home.
