Physical Description:
Her mother was adopted from Iraq as a baby and raised by two Scottish parents.  Juni’s father is Portuguese. As far as looks go, she takes after her father in many ways. Her hair is dark, thick, and wavy. The amount of curl in her hair depends on the humidity, the length of her hair, and whether or not she has brushed it recently. Her eyes are large, dark brown and framed by black lashes.

Like her father, Juni has a round, soft face and fair complexion (with olive influences from her mother). Like her mother, she has full lips, freckles, and a small, rounded nose. She stands at about 5’5 in height, which is tall for a female her age. However, it is not likely that she will grow any taller—both parents reached their full height by the time they were 15. Everything about her build is soft. She has gentle curves, and wide hips, giving her a stereotypical pear shape. She has a little bit of lower stomach fat that she finds quite amusing to poke and make 'talk.' Her palms are wide, but her fingers are slender and long. Her fingers are heavily calloused from years of playing the harp.

As far as clothing goes,  Juni is very partial to orange and yellow clothing, and she wears it well. She doesn’t care about the style, as long as it fits her mood, and as long as it isn’t uncomfortable. She is far from picky when it comes to clothing.


Personality Description:
 Stubborn to a fault, Juni will often hold on to her beliefs firmly, even when she knows that she has lost an argument or that her belief is irrational. She refuses to publically acknowledge she is wrong, not wanting to sacrifice her pride. She is a bluntly honest person, and will only lie if it is to keep someone else’s secret. Juni often knows what she wants, though she does not always know why she wants what she wants. She also has some difficulty differentiating between what she wants, and what she actually needs.

Once she is committed to doing something, she puts all her effort into it and does her best to complete the action, no matter how difficult it is, or how long it takes. Juni hates the idea of failure. She does not want to associate herself with the idea of failing. This shines through in her schoolwork—Juni very rarely gets low marks. She studies hard, and does her best to get her work done early or on time. She loves to learn—but she is far from being an auditory learner. She often learns best if there is text to read, if she takes notes, or if the professor teaches with a hands-on approach.

Juni is a resilient and reliable person—if she says she will get something done, she will do it. When unfortunate circumstances arise for her, she tends to recover quickly. When hurt, she does not allow herself to feel hurt for an extended period of time. It is not because she views being hurt as being weak, but because she does not see how it would be beneficial for herself to feel this way. This makes it a little difficult for her to understand what to do when somebody else is sad. Part of her wants to tell them to suck it up and deal with it, while the other part feels like she should just give them a hug, and deal with the fact that other people will get upset.

Despite all these traits, she is not a cold-hearted person. Juni likes to be around people, and she loves to socialize. It is difficult for her to make close friends, but it is very easy for her to feel comfortable around others. She is generous person. Juni loves to share her personal possessions with others—she loves to help people in need in any way she could without pissing them off. Although she likes small children and babies, she is not comfortable being around them. They seem too breakable and fragile, and the fact that they are so dependent on adult figures makes her feel uncomfortable.

Juni is always willing to try something new, and is always looking for new things to do. She would love to travel the world one day, and look at all of the different cultures. She wants to try all kinds of different food, and she wants to experience all the music of different countries.


History:
Juni was an accident—a result of a simple fling. Her mother, a Journalist named Lovise Dùghlas had been travelling in Portugal in the 90’s for work. She met Mihai Zamperia, and the two hit it off. For two months, they were inseparable. They stayed in contact, though neither one of them felt like they needed to be committed. Neither of them were in love; their relationship had been based purely on physical attraction. Eight months later, Juni was born. Although Mihai did not move to be closer to his daughter, he visited her quite often. The last weekend of every month was reserved for him, and she spent a week every year in Portugal with him and his parents.

When she was about five years old, she started exhibiting signs of being magical. She would always figure out how to get the cookie jar down from the top of the refrigerator, and she was particularly good at getting what she wanted from her peers and from adults in her life. Her mother was oblivious to this, while her father knew which signs to look out for. Her dad never revealed his suspicions to her mom. She grew up fairly happily—though she always secretly wished that her parents would fall in love and get married, so that she could see her father more often. Although he was very supportive of her when he was around, Juni missed him when she couldn’t see him. Unknown to her, she has several half-siblings from her father (he used to be fairly promiscuous, and he loves to travel).

Around the age of seven, Juni started learning how to play the harp. Her mother was particularly passionate about playing the harp, but she developed chronic paresthesia in her hands after a skiing accident a couple years before Juni was born. She inherited her mother’s passion for playing the harp, and spends most of her summers trying to learn new pieces of music.

Growing up, she never had difficulty getting along with her classmates. She always made friends, though she never had particularly close friends. Juni does not recall ever having someone that she considered to be a best friend, and she is very content with that thought. Growing up, she had several imaginary friends that she enjoyed spending time with, often more than spending time with her ‘real’ friends. When she was in muggle school, she found that the subject that she enjoyed the most was History. She was particularly fascinated with the World Wars, and the issues surrounding them.

When Juni received her Hogwarts letter, she and her mother were quite surprised—but at the same time, many little things that had happened over the years were acknowledged and understood, without being ignored or denied.  Lovise was upset at herself for not recognizing the signs-- her own sister, Coira, had been a witch when she was alive. Her father was incredibly proud, and told Juni that he was a wizard, and that she likely got it from him. Lovise suspected that Mihai was also magical, but he denied it. In the end, she figured that Juni must've gotten it from her side: Her own sister was a witch, though the family didn't talk about it much.

As she has gone through school, she’s realized that she is not at all talented when it comes to Divination. She despises the subject, and does not ever want to take it again. She views it as completely useless (when she's divining), and would much rather be spending her time learning something practical, or at the very least, something fun.

In November of 2009, her mother was killed by a werewolf-- other details have yet to be discovered. Juni's grief manifests itself in being a bit more short-tempered with people, and in a heightened prejudice against werewolves and even werewolf-supporters.
