Love & Hate: Werewolves in Britain

on March 29, 2012, 12:32:43 PM

Knox Greyfriar and Hannah Bombay are in the middle of a scandal that paints them as dangerous or irresponsible werewolves because of a grave miscalculation and an accident of fate.  As a result, the wound of werewolf issues in Britain has come to a head again.  Greyfriar, Bombay, the Ministry of Magic, and the Daily Prophet must cope daily with letters and Howlers decrying the two werewolves, the system and society at large for allowing this to happen.  The hate mail varies in intensity.  But every so often, there are notes of support.

Please post here with letters to or about Knox, Hannah, or werewolves in Britain in general.  If you prefer, name an NPC to have sent the letter, or write 'ANONYMOUS' at the top to show that it's not a letter coming from your character.  (Unless of course, your character is the one writing the letter.)

I am writing to the Prophet to express my disgust at an article in your paper last month about the rogue werewolves and the fact they should be put down.

They say the werewolf curse is caused by being bitten by another of the unsightly rogue creatures but I am convinced it’s inherent. Even years before Knox Greyfriar claimed to be bitten by a werewolf I had the displeasure of knowing him and he was a hairy, angry and vile beast back then as well. Whoever left him in charge of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was a moron and the public for supporting such a dangerous beast. The fact that the ministry still let him preside over trials and keep a job with any manner of responsibility or respect is outrageous.

Werewolves like Knox Greyfriar should be confined to the cages of magical zoos or Azkaban. Giving these monsters just a fine for endangering the innocent public shows the ministry’s incompetence and inability to protect us. I know if I ever see this beast again I will tell him just what I think of him.

A howler arrives for Hannah Bombay at her work at St. Mungo's...

Bombay - what business do you have working at St. Mungo's!  You're meant to protect and Heal those poor people and instead you flaunt your curse in front of them, putting them in danger EVERY DAY!  You should be ashamed! Any witch with any shred of decency would remove herself from her post the second she became a werewolf FOR THE GOOD OF US ALL.  I'm appalled you haven't been fired.  I'd as soon loose a leg than set foot in St. Mungo's while you still work there.

GO HOME, MISS WEREWOLF.  Before you hurt someone!

The letter is not signed.
