So coordinating wacky pink outfits with Saffron might have been a tad bit juvenile, but Fauna didn’t care. It just made the experience of Signature all the more memorable. She got the impression that the club was very sophisticated and probably catered to expensive tastes too, but tonight, the Hogwarts students were invited to come and party and for that Fauna was grateful.

Fauna swung her feet a little as she sat on the barstool. “We could be twins,” she agreed with a grin, twirling her wand in her hands and watching with interest as the bartender prepared her alcoholic drink. Her grin kept popping up again as she glanced over at the fourth year girls, Jordyn and Neely, who would undoubtedly be stuck with butterbeers and… was that cocoa? Yes, of course cocoa. The high maintenance Wolfolk girl had attempted to order a hot cocoa from Fauna a few times during rehearsals, and Fauna had not taken too kindly to that.

"This is so fun!" she gushed to Fauna as she waited. "And it's barely even started!"

“I know!” her voice rose in excitement. “I forgot about the masks though. I didn’t realize everyone was going to wear a mask,” she confessed to Saffron in a low whisper. In comparison to the rest of the club goers her face felt strangely exposed without a mask covering it. She shrugged and focused her attention on her drink when it was put in front of her.

“It’s green…” she stated the obvious with a sense of wonder and glanced at Saffron. Then she leaned forward and picked out a leafy thing that was draped over the rim of her glass like a garnish.

“Is this seaweed?!” She stared at it and tried not to laugh. That’s what she got for ordering a Selkie’s Shriek and not knowing its components.

“Well, here goes…” Fauna took a sip of what looked like some failed experiment she’d brewed in potions. There was a reason she avoided being near cauldrons. As soon as she’d swallowed it her eyes popped open and she started coughing. The bartender threw a glance at her that said ‘amateur’.

And then the giggles began. “Well, um… wow. That was… a stronger drink than I’d expected.”

Fauna glanced around the room to see if anyone had noticed her fit of coughing, and in doing so, she spotted Ava and Atticus. She waved at them. While poor Saffron was in the process of sipping her butterbeer, she grabbed her arm and pulled her off the seat.

“Look! Two Slytherins I actually like! Let’s go talk to them,” Fauna suggested, chancing another sip of her drink and managing not to cough so much this time.
"You might call that get up stunning however I think it may have shocked people into blindness anyone who looked at it, mind numbing really," Atticus put up his arms in an attempt to shield his eyes from what he claimed was a bright glistening outfit. It was rather silver and perhaps he was playing but she did stick out like a sore thumb. "Never thought you could look even better? Surely you have lost your bloody mind," he mock scoffed and pretended to yawn.

"I have seen some girls in here who might give that tin foil outfit of yours a run for it's money," once more he was teasing. If she was going to rib at him he would do it right back without regret.

Sticking out his tongue he leaned a little rolling his eyes, "Obviously you have had your mind befuddled because we both know my hygiene is not the problem. You however could knock someone off their broom thinking a comet is colliding with them if you ran too fast tonight," Atticus looked about the rather full room. "Now I am not denying my lack of social savvy, it isn't hard to see from even the least observant party guest..."

Taking up one of the drinks being passed out he took a sip and made a face. "Too much ruddy fruit," he muttered and put it down asking for a nice safe butter beer instead. Looking up from the drink he saw Fauna Blake waving at him and he found his right hand moving up to wave awkwardly back.
“We could be twins,” Fauna confirmed. Saffron's lips rose in a smile and she peered at Fauna's drink, elegantly (or so Saffron felt) sipping from her own glass. Ew, she wrinkled her nose, Fauna's actually going to drink that sludge? But before Saffron got up the nerve to say anything, the bartender had finished.

“I forgot about the masks though. I didn’t realize everyone was going to wear a mask,” Fauna whispered and Saffron grimaced, her face growing red . Luckily, Saffron figured, it was invisible under her extensive pink makeup. She rubbed her temple, her face feeling horribly naked as compared to everyone else's.

"Do y'know any, um, mask-conjuring spells?" she whispered back. "They don't teach that in fourth year. And I didn't bother to look it up."  she shook her head sadly, "What kind of Ravenclaw am I?"

She sighed, but her good mood resumed almost immediately as Fauna attempted to drink her Selkie's shriek. The alchohol kicked in almost immediately, Saffron observed, sipping her butterbeer, as Fauna giggled madly. "Faun, Fauna," she muttered, slightly embarrassed at the scene. This wasn't typical Fauna. Oh, well, Saffron thought hopelessly, Maybe she knows the mask spell and nobody'll recognize me and I can act like some crazy witch.

Saffron sipped her glass again as Fauna waved at a pair of upper years Saffron recognized vaguely as the girl who played Voldemort and....some guy. Without warning, Fauna seized Saffron's hand and yanked her off the barstool. Startled, Saffron spilled her butterbeer down her dress.

"Shit!" she swore. Saffron wasn't a big fan of cussing, especially of the muggle persuasion, but she rationalized mentally that ocasion was appropriate. "Fauna!" her voice rose in a whine. "Terego!" she grumbled, pointing her wand at the offending butterbeer spill. The stain vanished, thankfully, but her skin felt sticky and Saffron scrunched up her nose. "Yuck."

“Look! Two Slytherins I actually like! Let’s go talk to them,” Fauna suggested, chancing another sip of her drink and managing not to cough so much this time.

Well, there's nothing better to do, Saffron thought, her mood slightly soured. But she tried to smile and act as if everything was alright. She'd been acting for weeks - this was nothing...right?

"Okay," Saffron muttered, placing her drink down precariously. She grabbed Fauna's arm lightly but steadily, intent on making sure the sixth year didn't maul someone else on the way over to the 'two Slytherins she actually liked'. How fast does alcohol kick in, anyway? she wondered, Fauna's only had a sip or two...

"Hi." she said brightly to the Slytherin pair, hoping they didn't notice how she was the youngest of the four of them. "I'm Saffron." She smiled, still hoping they didn't think she was fake. Who knew how Slytherins acted or judged people? Saffron certainly didn't hang out with any. Granted, her opinion of Slytherins was mainly based on Jordyn and Neely and maybe Slytherins who weren't in her year were just the nicest, misunderstood souls who ever existed - but, somehow, she doubted it. "I, um, I know you," she said to the girl, the one who'd played Voldemort, trying to break what she felt was an awkward silence, "You're-" Voldemort. she continued mentally. But no, that wasn't very polite, was it?

"Um, nevermind." she blushed, stupid lack of social skills...
Swearing under her breath, Meg had almost forgotten about the party at the Signature in Hogsmeade. Now, it was not exactly apart of the Remembering Day activities, but it seemed like an exciting thing to go to. Thus, she had the intent to go to the party. Yet, she had managed to forget to appear at the party early enough. The young Ravenclaw was reading up a bit before the party in the library. Certainly, that was not the smartest move on her part. When she read, she consistently forgot about the time. During her very first year at Hogwarts, she arrived a few minutes late to one of her classes due to that same issue. Four years later, and she still had that same effect while reading. Yes, that was simply not that good.

After finally realizing what time it actually was, Meg had managed to go up to her dorm room, and got dressed. She decided for a simple green top and a black skirt. She added on a pair of drop green earrings, and a pair of smaller black earrings as well. She slipped her feet into a pair of black heeled sandals. The young girl pulled her hair back into a simple ponytail. With a small nod, she excited her dorm room, and headed down to the Signature.

After a bit of walking, Meg entered Hogsmeade, and headed over to the Signature. She looked around the place, and smiled at how nice the decorations looked. It appeared as if they went all out to decorate the place to look great. Naturally, she knew that the older party would start after this one was finished, and after the fireworks. So far, the party was clearly not finished yet, which would clearly be a good thing.

Meg's eyes swept around a bit, looking for anyone that she could possibly know. She quickly noticed Saffron and Fauna together, talking to another girl and a boy. She walked over to where they were, and smiled to them. "Hey Saffie, Fauna," she greeted both girls. She took a glance at who they were talking to, and noticed that she knew one of them. "Hi Atticus," she greeted the Slytherin that was with them. "Hi," she said to the girl that was with Atticus, whom she did not know.

Meg pushed a piece of her brunette hair out of her eyes, and looked around again, this time a bit better. She spotted Arielle a bit further back, and waved to her fellow fourth year. Otherwise, she did not think that she knew anyone else that managed to come to this party.

Atticus made some more rude remarks, then said something about his drink being too fruity. Ava's attention span was small, and she was now focussed on Fauna Blake with the Padmore, making their way over to Ava and Atticus. Well, Fauna was making her way over. Padmore was being dragged, much to her disappointment so it seemed.

The Padmore girl who had came over with Fauna blinked at Ava stupidly while muttering something about knowing who Ava was. Ava just stared at her, waiting for her to come out with something totally appalling about recognising her even with her hair...or being able to tell that she played tha bald-headed mass-murderer in the re-enactment. Ava waited. Saffron decided it was probably better not to carry on, and instead let her cheeks flush a deep shade of pink.

"Hm..." Ava cocked an eyebrow at her - she was very odd, that girl. Probably why Fauna got on with her so well. Ava turned to Fauna and smiled. "There's someone I'd like you to meet." She took hold of Fauna's hand and headed towards where her brother was, flashing a 'you can come if you want' glance towards Atticus. Obviously, Atticus didn't need to be formally introduced to Finn, since they had all known each other since they were children, but Ava didn't think Atticus wanted to look like a lone stuck up prick at the edge of the dance floor - he had a habit of looking pretty shifty at times, and it scared people.

"Finn." She said as she stood behind her brother. "There's someone I want you to meet. This is Fauna." She said, motioning towards the girl she had dragged over like a ragdoll. "And...Saffron..." she added as an afterthought.

It was all too easy for Fauna to be oblivious to her surroundings while she sipped the suspicious cocktail called the Selkie’s Shriek. She didn’t quite pick up on the awkward greeting Saffron gave to Ava, or Ava’s cool reaction to Saffron. Fauna did, however, notice Megan and waved at her cheerfully. She liked her green earrings and complimented her on them before being pulled away by Ava and her steel grip.

Fauna felt very lucky when she saw their destination: Ava’s brother. He was an extremely handsome man with a smile that made all the Azkabait in the room swoon. He’d been the one to greet Fauna and Saffron when they’d first walked in! Fauna glanced at Ava and grinned, thinking this was generous of her. She normally wasn’t boy crazy but she appreciated the introduction and looked forward to telling her dorm mates about it.

When he looked at her, her eyes widened slightly and she immediately felt nervous and shy.

“Uh, hi,” she said awkwardly “This is very interesting,” she raised her glass. “Though I didn’t know… there would be seaweed in it.”

It was probably the lamest conversation topic ever. Fauna realized this quickly, glanced around the room, and took another sip of her cocktail so she wouldn’t embarrass herself further.

Finn groaned as Arius blew him a kiss and made some comment about forgetting his lipstick. "You should know by now, Ari - I don't go for cheap and chatty for mydates, regardless of what your tastes are. I prefer a fresh, clean face to a face caked in make-up." he paused for a moment and tilted his head to the side as though checking Arius out. "You would definitely have to have a face caked in make-up...and for that I would make an exception." He grinned and took a drink from his tumbler. The only friends Finn had time for were those he knew could have a good laugh. Friends who weren't offended by him making fun of them, as more often than not he was ready to be made fun of himself.

Arius mentioned something about new talent, and Finn rolled his eyes. "New talent my arse!" He shouted over the music, just as he felt a tap on the back. He turned and was face to face with his little sister. "Ava!" He exclaimed as he bent to kiss her cheek. "How are you, kid? Sorry, I thought for a moment you might have been someone wanting a feather from the peacock." he flashed a glance at Arius then turned back to his sister and her friend.

"Fauna...Fauna...." he thought. "Ah yes, Fauna Blake." he smiled at the girl and held his hand out to her. "You've been mentioned a few times in Ava's letters. Cooking school meals, eh? that must have been fun." He goaded. "And Saffron. Welcome. I'm glad you could all make it. This is my good friend, Arius Tristisa." He clapped Arius on the back, deliberately trying to spill the man's drink. "So, what do you think?" he asked the girls, motioning to the decorations. "Did I overdo it a bit?"

“This is very interesting, though I didn’t know… there would be seaweed in it.”

Finn chuckled as Fauna held up what was unmistakably a Selkie's Shriek. "Ah yes - gets people every time, that one does. Not many people like it, but I seem to have grown accustomed to the tangy taste."

Me? Cheap and Chatty?” The model faked being indignant before fluffing his hair and puffing out his chest. Chatty, perhaps, but cheap was not a word used to describe Arius Tristisa. He smiled at Finn and took a sip of his drink. “It would take a lot more than makeup to get me to take you home, mate. You are lovely, but not my type sadly enough.” He winked roguishly at the man before him and shook his head. What a pair the two men made. They were certainly interesting at any rate, especially when they set their minds to chasing skirts in pairs.

Finn knew him so well, and so the remark at the new talent comment did not come as any surprise to Arius. True, scouting new talent for Peacock was always a good thing to do, but he knew better than to go after all of the Azkabait in the room until they turned at least seventeen. Until then they were all off limits and not very appealing anyhow. He preferred his women older, slightly taller and more mature than a giggling school girl.

When Finn turned around and greeted his sister, Arius turned with him, smiling at the younger girl before greeting her as well. “Pleasure to see you Ava.” He knew Finn’s sister, though for the other two he could not say the same. Well, one of them looked oddly familiar and he was sure he had heard someone speak of her before, who was it? “The one with the eyes!” Yes, that was what Neely had called her. So her name was actually Fauna it seemed.

When Finn introduced him and clapped him on the back Arius caught himself in time not to spill too much of his drink. He would have to pay Finn back for that one. “A pleasure to meet everyone.” He smiled broadly and took a sip of his drink, waiting to see what they thought of the decorations inside Signature.
