At about 4:30 on Wednesday Annette Lotusorder sat in her Hufflepuff dorm room, sprawled out on her bed, books and matches surrounding her. It was pitiful how easy it was to transfigure the small wooden sticks to stainless steel needles.
They popped with each easy flick of her wand, the wood becoming harder and less bendy. Alice had been a little off today and Annette hadn't seen her friends in an hour or so.

Placing a book open on her face, she breathed heavily and balance the binding of Advanced Charms Level 1 on her nose. She let it sit there, trying to see if the text was too close for her to read. The text was blurry and illegible. Shikoba fluttered lazily around the room, the window was open for him to fly in or out if he wanted. She clicked her tongue and he whistled at her, flapping heavily to land on her bet arm.

She stroked the feathers on the top of his round head, purring. "Who's a good boy?" Nette was gentile with him and enjoyed his company. He nibbled affectionately on her finger then in one fluid motion, spread his wigs and swooped gracefully to the window sill. He paused, looking back at the young girl. She nodded, and as if he understood, he glided out of the window.

The letter he had deli evered still laid rolled up, unopened from home. Her hands shakily reached for the scroll. Ripping the wax seal of her father's name. The neat scrawl of Brenda Lotusorder's writing filed neatly across the page. It was covered in multi-colored splotches of oil paint. Her mother's paintings were getting more and more colorful by the day. Anni Dear,

I hope you are having fun at your new school honey. I miss you so much, the house is so quite without you there. It's sometimes frightening to sit down at dinner with only your father. I keep forgetting how grown up you are. You and your brother don't need rely on us as much anymore. You are both mature young adult and I' especially proud of you Annette. You are so brave and kind. You probably got sorted into Gryfindor like James. It wouldn't surprise me. You embrace everything so whole-heartedly, you are a beautiful independent young woman and I miss you so  very much dear.

Love, Mum

P.S. Remember to send your father a birthday letter/card. Its October 26th, remember.

Leave it to Brenda to choke up her daughter. Did she really miss her child that much? But, still, if Nette was so mature and independent, was she still a child? Were her parents going to treat her older? She hoped so, maybe they would have mature conversations with her? Who was she kidding, her parents would push her aside like a puppy who had been kicked too may times. Annette pulled out a quill, she loved hers. Quail quills were thin and the ones she had used to learn calligraphy.

Dipping the nib into black ink, Annette stared at a blank piece of parchment, how would she explain to her mother and father that she was not what they wanted her to be? She was a Hufflepuff, not a Gryffindor. She was a damn good Puff aswell. Pressing down hard, she started printing her script quickly on the thin paper.

Alice sauntered into the room, before plopping down on to her bed. Ignatius scrambled out from under her sheets. She ran her fingers over the top of his head, something clearly had her thought process. Look at her. Acting all innocent. I can't believe she would do such a thing.

Alice crossed her arm, shooing Ignatus off of her bed.
Looking up from her letter Annette's full attention was on Alice. Her friend, her neighbor, her roommate. Ignatus yowled at Alice from the bottom of the bed and came to Annette's shoulder and started rubbing his fur on Annette's shoulder. She scratched under his chin "Aw... Is Alice in a narc?" Annette asked the cat absently.

Alice's face was twisted in a sort of smoosh. "Hey why the pussface? Did someone bother you?" Annette put down her pen her letter almost finished. "Alice what's bothering you?" Her friends eyes were starring daggers. At her. "Did I do something?"
"Look Annette. I don't like to fight, but I really don't like liars. Just give my notebook back, okay?" She looked down at her feet.

"I mean, I'd never think you would do such a thing like that."
Annette's eyes bugged "WHAT the HELL are you talking about? I never stole any notebook, I don't think I've ever stolen anything!" It shocked Annette completely that her friend was making such a bold accusation.

Annette pulled herself off her bed and took a few steps over to Alice's. "Alice I would never do something like that." Anni plopped down next to her friend, the springs bending slightly. "What would make you think that?"
"WELL ANNETTE! IT WAS HERE LAST NIGHT, AND GONE THIS MORNING!" She yelled.  Alice closed her eyes and took a deep breath. " I know you've wanted to look inside it. I get it, but really? Lying about it?" She got up.

"I'm just as shocked as you are. I thought you were a good guy too, but clearly, not."  She exhaled through her nose, crossing her arms.
Well Annette could shout too. She leaped off the bed and shouted right back at Alice. "I AM THE GOOD GUY! IT'S NOT MY BLOODY FAULT YOU LOST YOUR SILLY NOTEBOOK IN THE FIRST PLACE!" She toned down but her head was getting more full of steam by the second. "If you think that for one second that you are going to accuse me of stealing and lying,YOU THOUGHT WRONG, HUNTER!" Annette stormed away from Alice and plopped down on her bed, pulling the curtains closed.

Nette had half a mind to levitate her needles into Alice's bed while she was sleeping, but didn't want anymore trouble. It was a really good thing Anni had some self control, or else Alice would be crying in her sleep for the rest of the year. When this girl got riled up, she brought down the rain, hard.

"I also didn't think you were one accusations without investigating your problem through enough. Cause I certainly did not take your prissy notebook. Why don't you go cry to Lexi?"
Alice was steaming. "YOU WANT TO GO LOTUSORDER? BECAUSE I WILL FIGHT YOU!" She sat down on her bed, pulling her curtain around her bed. She grabbed the quill Annette had once made for her, and marched over to Annette's bed.

"I also didn't think you were one accusations without investigating your problem through enough. Cause I certainly did not take your prissy notebook. Why don't you go cry to Lexi?"

That was the last straw. She tore open Annette's curtain. "No, no. You just crossed the line. You will leave my BEST FRIEND out of it, got it? 'Cause no one messes with my friends. NO ONE!"

She took the quill in two hands snapping it forcefully. "I am so done with you Lotusorder. Forget about us, because I have others. I have tons of other friends. AND I. DON'T. NEED. YOU!" She yelled, storming to her bed and pulling her shade.
The sound of the thin quill of the father snapping and pieces falling to the floor was like Annette's heart. Broken. But her heart wanted revenge. "You are pitiful! and YOU don't need ME?!?!?!" Annette pulled her curtains all the way open and swung her socked feet over the side.

"I think not! You need me more than I need you! YOU are the only reason Lexi's a werewolf! YOU were afraid of her! I was there when she needed someone! I was there not YOU! You were hiding in a corner, cowering from your so called" best friend" "  She was fuming, no not fuming, boiling wasn't even a good enough word!

She was erupting molten hot liquid rock from her mouth! "You are a fraud! You are a jerk and a coward!"  She stromed across the room and literally torn the curtains from the rods, splintering the wood. "Believe me, you would last 5 minutes without my help! I was there to save your whiny ass when fell off that bloody broom. You are pathetic" She stared into Alice's eyes, just behind her glasses wondering what she was thinking.

"Annette, you have taken it over the edge. You don't get her, and you will never get her!" She laughed manically. "Do you honestly think I, me! As in Alice Hunter was afraid of my cousin?" She remarked. Eyes were wide. "IT'S NOT MY FAULT SHE'S A WEREWOLF! She was being nice, saving me, risking her.

"And what did you do to help me? OH! LET ME YELL, CAUSE I'M SO COOL! Puh-lease. Without me, you would have no one. Who introduced you to Lexi in the first place? Oh, me. Who had been nice to you for all this time? Oh! That's me. WHO HAS PUT UP WITH ALL OF YOUR WINING, AND CRYING, AND CONSTANT ATTENTION NEEDING SELF? Me."

"You swoop in, take credit, and act like you're amazing. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROSES! YOU'RE NOT!" She was scary looking. "With Dee? Yeah, I had the covered. But oh wait! Little miss Attention Hog needed some attention! She'll just jump in and steal her away! But I was nice. I let you do that, because I recognized that you needed friends, because you can't make them on your own!"

She grabbed her backpack full of her class things, stuffed a pair of jeans in, a few tee-shirts, and grabbed her shoes from under her bed, where she felt her notebook. Looks like I did lose it. Well. Now I know what she really thinks of me.

She held it up for Annette to see. "Oh look, someone isn't a thief." She grabbed her quilt, her pillow, and a few hats. "BUT SHE STILL IS A BITCH!" Alice yelled as she ran out of the room, and out of the common room.

She just needed her Gryffindoors.

((OCC): HOLY SH*T!!!)

Alice's words where harse, true, but Annette had taken worse. Alice had pulled her notebook out from under her bed. Screaming and ranting as she packed up her things in a backpack. Storming out, Nette was in hot pursuit, pulled her trainers on as she went.

"I'm the bitch!? You had the god-damn notebook the ENTIRE TIME! and you have the bloody balls to accuse me!? I seriously underestimated you." She huffed as she hopped on one foot tying her laces. "And you know the only reason I am such an 'attention hog' is because I wasn't raised in a house where everbody loves each other! I lived in an effing classroom my entire life! I ENVY you! What the hell don't you get! You're smart, you're nice, everybody loves Alice! Alice grew up like a freaking princess! Surrounded by people who LOVE her!"

Her tear ducts were stinging now, she didn't care and went on insulting Alice with compliments. "You are an idol to a little brother! An amazing daughter and YOUR older brother fraaking ADORES you! She caught up to Alice and clamped onto her shoulder and whipped her around to face her. Nette brought her face closer to the girl with the specs. In barely audible whisper she hissed in Alice's ear. "You have everything..." Anni blinked once and shoved Alice away from her. "Except me" Annette proceeded to leave her now ex-friend on the staircase leading up into the main hallways.

Well now she had nothing. No love or friends. Just an owl. She finished her letter, signing her name neatly. Then tore it to shreds, wailing and cursing the words written on the parchment. Pushing herself off the bed she ripped open her trunk and started trowing things out of it, she was trying to empty out her trunk so she could hide herself in it.
