"Are you always this arrogant? Look at you, standing there with your head held high. I mean, I knew Durmies were confident, but you... You're a bit self-important, aren't you? I s'pose I can't let a Durmstrang out...er, would that be out-apathy me? I can't let you beat me in not crying, anyway."

Franz tilted his slightly, honestly considering her words. They didn't sound... insulting in the slightest. Which made him curious for the fact that it was a legitimate question. But the German boy honestly wasn't sure how to answer that. Which was... curious. This had never happened before. "I suppose that's one way to put it," he finally said. And that was really all he could think of easily. "Oh I'm sure I would cry if the right stimuli came up," Franz admitted "But suit yourself, don't let me win," he grinned at her.

He lifted his head slightly as he heard a bell. Must be the end of a class. Interesting. He hadn't realized how long he'd been speaking with this girl. Curious... he didn't expect a Hogwarts student to be that interesting.

"All right, then. Challenge accepted. We'll see who the bigger monster is by the end of the year. We'll be ourselves and whichever has turned out the nastier wins. By the way, I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone I can cry. Only one other person knows--and she's promised she'll never tell. You have to promise, too."

"Is that so?" Franz asked in an oddly playful tone. He wasn't really expecting that sort of a question to come from her. "Fine, I'll keep your secret." It wasn't like it was that big of a deal, anyways.

"After all, why not let them all think you're a monster. For now."

He was being playful. So Durmstrangs did have a sense of humor! She grinned like a silly schoolgirl and kept backing up towards the grand staircase. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Jinx. Darn that cat! He'd got her into this mess. But she'd have to thank him this time. With a final glimpse towards the blonde boy, Bellatrix waved stupidly.

"See you in class, then!"

And away she ran down the stairs after the Turkish-Angora that had yet again/i] brought her into the middle of an awkward sitaution. It brought good luck this time which proved to her that Jinx wasn't pure bad luck. The cat ran off down to the dungeons and was probably headed back to the common room. It was just as well: she needed to get her things for class anyway.

[OOC: And I think that wraps it up. We should thread them again later! <3]
