Wand: Thane's wand is made of yew wood, its length slightly below 10 inches. Its core is made of Runespoor fang, which he had acquired from a family friend, and its shaft is decorated with carved vines. It's a wand meant for one with ambitions in mind, which describes Thane quite graciously.

Physical Description: Thane is a rather goofy looking teenager. As he's still growing, he's a bit pudgy and moves awkwardly with his size. Broad shoulders, big feet, long fingers, Thane grew immensely over the summer of before his fourth year, and he is still growing. He stands at 5'8", but his body is ready to grow another four or five inches. Aside from his sudden growth spurt, he holds himself lazily. Thane has an awful slump and tends to walk in a slow trot. His mother is always on his case to straighten up, and he is slowly working on his posture, but it simply isn't something he can fix over night. His parents mostly blamed the crowd he hung around school, not exactly knowing that Thane was virtually friendless, but Thane never really explained that to them and merely let them go on with their own assumptions. It was mainly a habit he developed out of laziness and from slouching over his studies. Normally, when he speaks to a superior, he'll automatically straighten his back out of habit of talking to his parents.

For that exact reason, Thane also manages to don rather proper, if not high-end clothes, that are mostly made by his oldest brother, Darian. His parents would never allow Thane to come off as hoodlum, nor did they want people to believe he didn't come from a proper family. Not only did they force manners into him, but they forced him to dress posh. While Thane never really developed the same taste in fashion as his brother did, Thane has literally no taste in fashion and doesn't care either way. His brother could dress him in a bright pink, polka-dotted sweater vest with denim pockets, and Thane would understand what was wrong with it and would simply wear it because Darian said so. He dresses and looks how his family wants him to, and that was simply his thought process with clothes. Normally, Thane simply wears his school uniform out of pure indifference about clothes. If not his uniform, he wears white, collared shirts and neatly pressed, black pants. Maybe a sweater if he's feeling wild. Thane never ventures into wearing t-shirts with his personal opinions or interests on them, as he makes it a conscious effort for his parents to know nothing about his true feelings or pastimes. Just out of fear of being ridiculed.

Thane's hair is his most tamable aspect, despite the fact that it's hardly ever tamed while in school. Naturally wavy and thick, it tends to stick up and tangle whenever he sleeps or goes without showering for a few days (and face it, he's a teenager, that happens). Thane is a natural, golden blonde, although it loses its appeal when he doesn't go outside for a while; without sunlight, Thane's hair falls into a drab, dirty blonde. However, with his love for nature and casual Quidditch, he can be seen outdoors quite often. However, the grey skies of Wales don't do much justice for the boy's precious curls. It's typical for his hair to become frizzy, which annoys his mother to no end. Thane attempts to keep his hair in a relatively proper condition, but overall it's a mess when he doesn't have his mother harping on him to brush it.

There is no doubt that Thane is, indeed, a Morgan. He has the cliche blonde hair, obviously. Which he tends to wear shaggy, as do his brothers. But Thane also has the high cheeks bones and sunken in eyes. His sockets are permanently purple and dark due to his thin, sunken skin, giving him a rather unsettling expression of contempt, boredom, and exhaustion all at once, even when he doesn't mean for it to be. This is what mostly puts people off from Thane, along with his quiet demeanor, as he comes off creepy and eternally frustrated. Contrary to his brothers, Thane has deep, dark, brown eyes that practically come off black. He does, however, share the same jaw shape as his brothers. While they share a striking resemblance to each other, Thane, being the youngest, has no sex appeal and has quite a bit of a baby face. His cheeks are still round with baby fat and he has dimples that distract anyone from any possible ill intention. He generally doesn't show his teeth when he smiles, as he has bucked teeth he hasn't "grown into yet" and believes he looks goofy. He wishes to get his teeth fixed, but hasn't exactly voiced that to his parents yet.

Personality Description: The most favorable attribute of Thane is that he's the definition of "sweetheart." The boy manages to woo his professors and parents and sometimes even his peers with his blatant chivalry and kindness. It's mostly due to manners being shoved down his throat, but Thane had kept up his nice guy act simply because he has no reason to not be sweet to people. He holds his tongue well and he compliments whomever whenever he feels the need to. If he sees that someone is feeling down, he'll cheer them up. He's known for being very thoughtful of people's interests and he tends to overdo his gift giving. Despite his ambiguous nature, Thane is friendly and welcoming to anyone who speaks to him. Of course, he's very quiet and shy, but that simply adds to the nature of his innocence. If it weren't for Thane's blank expression and unsettling quiet demeanor, Thane could probably manage a few friends. The boy has proper social skills and he thrives to be selfless. Or, at least, he seems to be selfless.

Beneath Thane's pleasant smiles and innocent quirks, he's the definition of a Slytherin. It's not exactly that Thane deceives people, he more so just covers up the truth. His appearance is simply a mirror of the corruption that lies in his core. He is a Morgan, after all. And he is in Slytherin for a reason. Aside from his need to be kind, Thane mostly uses people's trust in him for his own benefit. Say, the smart girl in class is bullied often. Thane will stick up for her and treat her like a fair maiden in order to, in return, get her to tutor him. It's not the evilest way of getting what he wants, because there's always a fair amount of truth behind his kindness. But in honesty, Thane is rather used to having no friends and has learned to not exactly care if he has them. Of course, he cares about the friends he does have. But he won't try to make more.

Along with his need to use people, Thane is actually quite irrational. While his temper isn't fiery, per se, when Thane is irritated, he turns into a completely different person. Thane is vicious, an excellent debater, and, at times, sports quite the foul mouth. It takes quite a bit for him to finally snap, and when he does, he holds a terrible grudge. He will go out of his way to emotionally degrade and harm people when he's angry, which leads to him being quite the terrible friend when he's upset. However, Thane is accustomed to biting his tongue and controlling himself. But there are times where he will simply burst and wreak havoc with no sense of consequence. Thane is every emotionally detached with people, as he can't ever seem to connect with their feelings. He has a hard time understanding how other people feel, and may get frustrated with people who aren't point blank with their emotions or respond to something in a way he wouldn't. Thane is a very logical being and is very realistic, even if he has his irrational moments. He's not a very creative person, as he thinks more like a robot, but he respects creativity nonetheless.

Thane's irrationality and kindness go hand in hand, too. He has a bit of a white knight syndrome where he'll stand up for people who are being wronged and is very prone to getting into fights because of it. Thane has had many black eyes and split lips, yet he never learns his lesson to simply back down. Of course, his parents have been told about his habits of fighting, but have a hard time believing their youngest child would act like a hoodlum. He was reprimanded and warned to stay away from such vile behavior, which in turn simply made Thane more secretive. Thane never tells his parents about himself or what he likes to do. In fact, he takes his time opening up to people in fear of them scolding him. Thane has a fear of being reprimanded due to his parents, so his secrecy developed over time in order to spare himself. Thane has a bit of a crying problem when he's angry, too. People who laugh at him will coincidentally, mysteriously be hexed within the following day.

His biggest flaw, however, is that he's a bit of a traditionalist. Or, really, he's sexist. He believes men should be manly and women should be feminine. He tends to keep these thoughts to himself, but he refuses to admire a woman who doesn't dress like her gender. His girlfriends will always be precious and petite, if he can even manage to land one. Being a pureblood, he's more likely to date other purebloods. Thane is quite judgmental and pretentious with his views, but he won't be completely open about them. While he believes women should be feminine, he's also rather perverted with him. Mostly in secret, but if a girl grows close enough, inappropriate comments will be made about them. Whether to their face or "accidentally" in front of them. In other words, Thane can be a bit of a tool.

Mostly, Thane is a kind boy. He simply has his irrational, horrible moments.

History: Thane's birth had been an iffy one. Of course, he was fully planned and intended, but his parents, perhaps, didn't think about the age difference between him and his brothers. They mostly just wanted to have a son and raise him properly, as they clearly didn't have such a swell time with Darian. When Thane was born, his older brothers were nine and fourteen. A huge age difference between them was apparently nothing to his parents, as they simply wanted to try again with making the perfect son. Ironically, it would turn out that Rhys was their proper son after all, and Darian and Thane turned out to be messed up. However, Darian was simply more open about his rebelliousness, as he was the oldest and the less controlled. Due to Thane's youth, he didn't have many memories of his brother before he had moved out of their house. He recalled a few moments of Darian arguing spats with their father, but nothing he could truly consider a solid memory. Artur and Evie Morgan had developed quite the stern demeanor with their youngest son, as they believed that was the best way to approach it. Thane was dressed in pressed, clean clothes, he received lessons in manners and piano, and they managed to excel him in certain magics before he went on to school. In particular, he was rather fond of defense against the dark arts, but he tended to remember a lot more about transfiguration and history. Because of his parents, Thane actually developed quite the talent at piano, along with tonality and rhythm. He actually found himself rather fond of music, rather than bitter and disgruntled from the fact that his parents forced it upon him.

During his childhood, Thane partook in reading quite often, and generally played Quidditch with Rhys for fun. While Thane's parents weren't the most brilliant people when it came to treating him with love and care, Rhys made up for all of the lost feelings. It wasn't that his parents hated him or neglected him, they were simply much more harsh with him. Thane received plenty of love and care from his parents, but only if he deserved it. He was taught to be a bit of a perfectionist. To be orderly and rule abiding and to do as he was told. If he performed a dainty piece on the piano that was normally played by people twice his age, he would get rewarded with a day of unconditional bliss with his parents. If he got into a fight with one of his cousins, he would be forced to do chores around the house he wouldn't normally need to do (because of magic), such as dishes or dusting. Or, sometimes, he would be forced to sit in with one of his mother's get-togethers with her friends and he would have to sip tea and listen to boring, adult conversation. This, in turn, made Thane into a very boring person, as he had to make himself interested in their conversation in order to keep his sanity intake. His punishments weren't exactly horrid, but they were enough to create him into a mind numbingly boring person. At least he had proper manners.

Aside from Rhys, Thane's only friends were his cousins, as they would visit along with their parents whenever his mother and father hosted a dinner or a simple get-together (as they were middle class, these were never anything extraordinary). In particular, he was mostly friendly with his distant cousin, Ole. Mostly, Ole and Thane would run around outside, through forests and thickets, and they shared the same interests and secrets. Ole enjoyed muggle objects such as digital watches and what he called "microwaves." Ole said he had met some muggle boys once when he was out playing in his yard. He lived near muggles, but not close enough for them to be neighbors, really. But the boys had gone out traveling, just as Ole and Thane did every time they were together, and they simply believed Ole to be poor or simply lived in a minimalist household (although, being young, they just called him "Amish"). Ole also enjoyed furry animals, even when they could be considered ugly; mostly possums. Thane always enjoyed when Ole talked to him, simply because he was so different from the rest of his family. Ole was like Thane. He didn't care much about looking presentable or trying to impress his superiors. He liked reading books and he, too, lacked a proper sense of humor. They were exactly alike, almost as if they were brothers. Ole didn't visit often, but when he did, Thane would dedicate his time to entertaining him. The Morgans had a habit of staying in touch with each other, whether it be visiting each other or sending owls. Owls were usually how Thane and Ole spoke.

But Thane always had terrible luck. By bad luck, I mostly mean, he was practically cursed. The boy had an aura of ominous, lingering dread and seemingly reeked of death. It mostly started with pets. Thane would be given a kitten and within a few days or weeks, the poor thing would sudden drop dead. No one was certain how it happened. It was always an accident or a tragic complication. Of course, his family considered whether it was his magic acting up, and if he was simply a horrid kid. But there would never be a direct connection with Thane and the deaths besides his presence. It was a phenomenon. A concerning, tragic flaw in logic that Thane constantly disregarded out of pure improbability. It was impossible. They were merely coincidences. At such a young age, Thane was horrified of how often his pets died. It wasn't until he was older than he pushed the thoughts away and deemed them as nothing. His parents didn't given any pets to Thane for years, just to spare him the torture of losing another animal. And, of course, because they were equally concerned.

It wasn't until the cursed moved on from pets that Thane truly began to blame himself. It began when Thane had a piano recital, where his parents had invited a few friends and relatives to watch him. He played the piece incredibly well, being only nine years old. His parents rewarded him with time to himself to read or play with the other children, although Thane didn't know them all too well. He stuck around the setup of food they had prepared, munching aimlessly at hors d'oeuvres. A friend of his parents waltzed up to grab a cracker when she had noticed the petite pianist that had just been playing so marvelously not too long before. She had greeted him with a smile and complimented him on his playing, on how well he was dressed, on how much he looked like his father and his brothers. Thane had noticed she was pregnant, and took special care in ignoring her stomach. It was rude to stare, it was none of his business. His parents had always pounded that into his head, "It's rude to stare at someone who's different from you." Of course, he could fully well note those differences and judge them. But being so young, pregnancy was foreign and unknown to him. He hardly knew where babies even spawned from. She noticed his glances, however, and with a pleasant grin, said, "You can feel it, if you want. It won't hurt you." Her stomach was smooth and warm, and honestly interested Thane. However, after such a harmless touch, the woman's husband died the next day under unexplained occurrences. Just as his animals had passed, there was no rhyme or reason. The woman was widowed and Thane couldn't help but wonder whether he was to blame. Childlike logic forced him into believing there was something wrong with him.

When Thane was ten, Ole came to visit after a few months of silence between them. Their parents were setting them up for school, readying them for their future studies. Having a break from reading about subjects Thane had no interest in was a quaint relief. He and Ole went out to play, as usual, and catch up on each other's lives. Thane spoke of his studies and his piano playing and Ole spoke of the friends he had been making and the books he had been reading. Ole had developed a sense of humor since they had last met, subtly teasing Thane or making crude jokes he didn't understand. Ole had grown taller than him, his shoulders were broader and his face was maturing. Thane was a tad depressed by his new, shiny growth and maturity. But he still loved Ole like a brother. Even if they were slowly loosing touch... Even if they weren't the same anymore. Thane was still Thane, Ole was still Ole... just with tiny glimpses of adulthood. Or, well, puberty.

Ole had insisted that they would go for a swim in a murky lake. Thane wasn't very fond of swimming, mostly because he was terrible at it, and he agreed to simply placing his feet into the water. Ole had laughed at him, insisted he was a sissy, joked about how he was a nancy boy. Thane had stood there, disgruntled and blushing and annoyed. Ole bounced right into the water with his clothes tossed to the side. Ole was a better swimmer than Thane and he never panicked once. Thane was envious of his friend. A bitter, resentful envy. He was angry, but he simply bit his tongue and spoke innocently with Ole as he swam around. After a moment of silence, Ole decided to dive down into the water, despite it being hard to see through. He disappeared beneath the surface, his feet broke through the surface before submerging once more. Thane waited, patiently, for him to appear once more and tell Thane more about his friends or his studies. But... Ole wasn't popping back up. There were ripples in the water, but there was no body. Thane darted forward, but he realized he couldn't swim. "Ole?" He cried out, but there was no answer. The rippling stopped. Thane's heart bounced against his sternum, threatening to burst through. He immediately turned around, grabbed his shoes, and ran for home. He had to tell someone, anybody... His feet must have been tangled in vines or maybe he hit his head... He burst through his door, calling for his mother and father.

When they saw him, wet and breathing heavy, they were immediately irritated. "Why are you such a mess?" His mother demanded, grabbing him by the ear. He had attempted to explain to them what happened to Ole, "I was out by the lake when--" But he was interrupted and ordered to take a bath. He did as he was told. He realized they wouldn't reason with him and he had to listen to them. It wasn't until he had emerged from his room, after combing his hair and getting dressed that his mother inquired where Ole was off to.

"He's..." Of course, this drove tears into Thane's eyes, as he could never stop himself from crying, "He's in the lake... And, and... He didn't appear back at the surface... And..."

Thane wasn't blamed for Ole's death, directly. However, they did point their fingers at him, insisting he should have told them when he came inside, that it should have been the first thing he said to them. He was punished, driven into hard work of studies and he was neglected. Thane was beginning to get a name for himself, being cursed and an outcast. However, he was young. The calamity had nothing to do with him. Members of the family had their doubts, and some still blame him for the death of Ole. Thane had the memory engraved in his head, haunting him and making him believe there was something wrong. He insisted on being a good person for this reason. He had no reason to be bitter or hateful. He should have been happy Ole was with him, not jealous. He regretted that most of all about himself. He was angry with Ole when he died. He was upset at his own best friend and he couldn't fix it. It was done, he was gone, and Thane was alone once more.

When he was sent to Hogwarts, he was finally given his final pet. His parents didn't exactly acknowledge the idea the cat could have died, they simply gave him a pet as insisted by the school. However, upon receiving the animal, the calamity suddenly jolted to a halt. The cat, a grey Scottish Fold, was still standing after a month of being Thane's pet. The cat had quickly become Thane's most precious belonging. He named it "Kitty," as he hadn't expected it to stick with him long. However, now in his third year, the cat remains healthy and the whole "phenomenon" was set aside as a joke. Thane had nothing to do with those deaths, just as his parents insisted and had successfully ignored. Thane was sorted into Slytherin, as do most Morgans. It was an instantaneous response, almost, being immediately sorted into Slytherin. No thought process needed, Thane was meant to apart of the house as much as any other member of his family. Not to mention, with his high ambitions to be the best student and cunning ways to go about it, he would fit in quite nicely.

Or, so it would seem. Thane actually didn't make many friends as the years went on. Thane was much too unequivocally quiet and ominous to be befriended. Normally, a Slytherin should be rather used to that. But it's hard to make friends with someone who doesn't care whether or not he even has friends, which was exactly how Thane felt about the whole idea. Someone would speak to him, he'd be too shy to speak back, and that would be that. Thane didn't fight it, he didn't try to gain friends, he simply sat back and took it as it was. However, this meant that the more outgoing and persistent students were the ones who grew closer to Thane. He needed someone to force him to speak and interact in order to befriend them. Considering Thane's good nature and controlled tongue, he always had the possibility to make friend. Although the more loud and annoying someone is, the more likely he's going to snap on them. Which was exactly why he didn't have many friends to begin with. He never seemed to acknowledge them on his own, anyhow. Thane had grown quite the reputation for never owling or speaking to friends first. Some grew used to it, some didn't.

As years progressed, Defense Against the Dark Arts was Thane's obvious favorite, along with Transfiguration. Mostly, Thane was interested in Dark Arts. He found a few perplexing books in his house, but his parents insisted on stringing him away from such magic. Mostly, Thane takes to reading about dark magic at school, although he has yet to take the extra step of reading restricted books. While he has a certain disregard for rules, a part of him is afraid that his cousin will spot him amongst the forbidden area. Landis was not only his head of house, but one of the few family members he had to see on a regular basis. Because of Landis' settled career at Hogwarts, Thane's potential rebellious behavior has been subdued, if not halted. He may get into a fight or two, but he takes extra care in making sure Landis hears no word of it. Of course, there are times. And Thane dreads every moment he has to spend with the Slytherin head. Surely, if Landis wasn't apart of Thane's family, he'd enjoy the man a lot more. But since he is, Thane takes no mind to try and speak to him.

In his fourth year of Hogwarts, Thane has settled into being quiet and foreboding quite nicely. He's used to not being approached and is quite content with that fact. He doesn't actually care much at all with the Tetrawizard Tournament, as he's not one for competition, nor is he apart of it. If a family member were to join the tournament, he'd probably think otherwise.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Thane is ambitious, wishing to excel in school and make a name for himself and his family. He's also very cunning, as he manipulates things to his advantage and uses people without them knowing. He's fairly intelligent and resourceful, knowing just who and what to wrap around his finger for his success. While the idea of a kind, sweet Slytherin isn't typical, he manages to fit the house perfectly, to a T. He's also a pureblooded traditionalist, which is very common in Slytherin, and he's determined in his studies and abilities. He does as he's told, but he has a small disregard for rules, as some just don't seem logical to him.

    Writing Sample: lol

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Thane is a typical Morgan and a typical Slytherin; sly and resourceful. He comes off as brooding and foreboding, although he's a very sweet boy with a fine taste for respecting his elders and being chivalrous. Thane's a bit of a sexist and purist, but he never voices his opinions as it's considered rude. He has fine manners, but he doesn't expect others to be, too. He's very serious and quiet; he lacks a sense of humor. He's very intelligent, although he can be a bit lazy in school. He plays the piano due to his parents and he excels in the dark arts. He isn't prone to making friends, he can be a bit irrational, and he can get into a fist fight over nothing. Thane can be a bit selfish, as he uses people to his advantage, but overall is a sweet boy. He enjoys reading a whole lot and studies when he's supposed to. He likes to play Quidditch casually but isn't a fan of the competitive sport. He dresses nicely due to his oldest brother, and he's very ambiguous and secretive about his interests. Thane prefers it when people don't know much about him, as he has a huge fear of getting scolding. He cries under pressure and can be considered a bit of a sissy if it weren't for the fact that he owns an (figuratively) uncrackable backbone.

(Note: I wanted to add here quickly, in case there were any questions. I added the whole "cursed to be surrounded by death" deal to setup Thane to become a necromancer. As he wouldn't exactly have proper reasoning, I thought adding that aspect would help, as he'd feel guilty about deaths that really didn't involve him, along with his need for power).
