May 4 at 10 am

With the Remembering Day Celebrations slowly coming to an end, most of the events at Hogwarts have already passed. The celebrations were about to end, since it was the last day of the events. Later in the day, the closing ceremonies, and the charity ball were both taking place. Naturally, Meg did have every intention to attend both events. Just because she was a muggle-born, that did not mean that she could not attend the Remembering Day celebrations at the very least.

Oh, sure, Meg clearly did not have really anything to celebrate during the holiday. She was only about five years old when the war was coming to an end, and she was the only magical individual in her whole family. As far as she knew, no one in her family was not effected by the magical war that ended ten years ago. Thus, she felt as if she really had nothing to celebrate or mourn during the holiday. Of course, she was generally thankful to have the opportunity and the chance to attend Hogwarts. If Voldemort had his way, she would currently not be at Hogwarts, and she would've probably been enslaved, or sent to Azkaban. Both, of which, were naturally bad.

Meg was thinking about all of these things, as she was running about the outer perimeter of Hogwarts' grounds. It had been a while before she flew in the air, and thus decided to take a jog. Besides, it was less harmful for her to clear her own thoughts if she was jogging rather than flying. There were a few times that she actually flew into a tree, or into one of the stands while not paying attention. Thus, she would end up in the hospital wing. Naturally, she owed it to her team mates to be alert while flying, so they would have their full team assembled for their Qudditch games. Therefore, she did not see anything wrong with her clearing her mind while she was jogging. Besides, it did give her another thing to do while at Hogwarts anyway.

Meg sighed lightly, and slowed down as she approached the Qudditch Pitch. The young Ravenclaw stopped right at the Qudditch Pitch, after running ten laps around the grounds of Hogwarts. Since she played a Chaser on her house's Qudditch Team, she knew that she needed to stay in shape, and to practice Qudditch when possible. She did not plan on practicing Qudditch just yet. She would really rather to wait until Remembering Day was over, so she did not have anything to distract her from her flying. After all, it was only one more day of the celebrations.

Meg was dressed in a black tank top, and purple shorts, which were perfect for her to exercise in. On her feet, she wore a pair of sandals. As usual, she was carrying her bag with her. In her bag, she always kept her sketch pad with her, just in case she ever wanted to draw something. She entered the Qudditch Pitch, and sat down on one of the benches in the stands. She sighed lightly again, and looked around the pitch for a few moments. She got up from her spot, and started to walk around the pitch a little bit, getting a better feel for the pitch.

The sooner remembering day was over all the better for her. Arielle hated feeling this way. The moping about wasn't going to do her any good and quite frankly she didn't like the feeling either. So she tried as always to find something to occupy her time and keep her mind off the reason for remembering day's actual purpose.

The loss of her mum weighed heavily on her mind, between her constant conversations with friends on who they lost here and there and a class not too long past still vivid in the back of her mind. It was everything she could do not to feel pissy and throw a tantrum to get people to stop talking about it. Maybe it was a sign to her that she really wasn't over it. In fact she wouldn't be surprised if that was the case but she didn't need a holiday to tell her that she was still hurting.

Arielle had stood around the owlery thinking about sending a long winded note to her father but she left the owls without a package shoving it back in her shorts pocket. Dashing down the tower stairs she just tried not to dwell about the actions she had failed once more to muster the courage to complete. Arielle wanted to talk to him about her mother, she had known only what she really remembered from back then and he shut down on her. For a while she felt like she lost her father too when her mum was murdered so since then, she has tried to bounce back and kept her father from growing too dark on the subject.

However that would not last forever since the girl was curious. She could remember a lot but not everything. Maybe she wasn't meant to know everything, but she would try soon. Figuring she could wait till summer to bother him, Arielle headed towards the pitch for some fresh aire and to clean out the cobwebs in her thoughts.

The aire smelt clean as the pitch came into view. It was home there, a place where she could fly and forget everything. Looking at the grassy patch she saw her home had been invaded. About to protest she sighed and realized she had to share there was no sign that said Arielle Snark's property. Giving herself a little motive to jog she trotted up to the girl who looked to be in her own little world, "Ello fine day for a walk?"

There was a light gust of wind flowing throughout the grounds at Hogwarts, that blew through Meg's hair. She liked coming out to the grounds to think like this. More specifically, she enjoyed running, or even flying while she thought of her own mental stress. She had never been able to handle her own stress that well, thus it made sense that she was not going to deal with that stress well. Combine that with the fact that she was a muggleborn, it was not surprising that her self-confidence was low at times. The Remembering Day celebrations certainly lowered it.

Meg sighed, and shook her head lightly as she walked down the pitch. She knew that she had odd habits, and she was clearly reflecting that. Her brown eyes looked around at her surroundings. The vast pitch looked so much bigger from the ground. At any rate, she enjoyed playing Qudditch, and she enjoyed flying. Thus, she viewed the pitch as smaller than what it truly was, especially when she took the time to actually look at the pitch.

However, being a chaser, Meg did not always have an opportunity to look down at the ground. Correction, she never had an opportunity to view the ground. It was only during a practice, or while just lazily flying that she could. Odd habits aside, that was just the way that she behaved. It made her unique, and that was all that actually mattered to her.

Turning her attention to the stands that she was passing, she smiled to herself. Yes, it was a wonder to sit at those very stands as a first year, and watch the Qudditch games. She found it so intriguing, especially since she knew nothing about the sport. Over the course of the year, she looked up information about it, and eventually was able to start practicing at Hogwarts. Thus, she was able to try-out at the start of the next school year. And now, her friends that do not play Qudditch would sit in those very stands during her games, along with the current first years. Then, the cycle would go on.

Meg could not stay in her thoughts for too much longer. As she heard a girl's voice, she blinked and looked over at the girl who spoke to her. "Hi. Uh, yes, it is," she responded back to her. Clearly, she did not expect to see anyone any time soon. Now fully looking at the girl that joined her, she quickly recognized the girl from her classes, thus that they shared the same year. Yet, the girl's name currently escaped her mind. "If I remember correctly, I believe that we're in the same year," she commented with a nod. "Anyway, I'm Megan," she greeted herself to the girl. She usually was outgoing, naturally when she was not in her own little world.

To never know Quidditch until you came to Hogwarts would have seemed like a crime to one Arielle Snark. Lucky for her she was raised around Quidditch her entire life. Living, breathing and sleeping Quidditch practically since birth. Maybe if her father hadn't been a professional player, or her mum hadn't died she might have been more keen on studying and going for a career that involved the Ministry of Magic.

Secretly she blamed the Ministry for her mum's death. Though her Aunt worked for them it didn't matter she still felt like she lost her mother too soon. Though she knew in her heart it was a good cause that her mother had been fighting for, and that she did it to protect all of the wizarding world including both her father and herself.

Quidditch was in her blood. Now that her father was a Coach, he had been helping her get to her A-Game. Always with the practicing and listening to her ramble on about plays and future hopes. Arielle hoped with him as a connection she might make it onto a professional team when she got out of school. It would be her fondest wish to move into the same path he had, except she wanted to play for much longer than she did.

The rush of that first game. To feel all eyes on her as she kicked off and soared upward was like nothing she ever experienced before. Arielle could live and die by the cheers as they rose into the aire with her. It was exhilarating as well as intoxicating. Arielle felt the fire burn inside the pit of her stomach each time she left that locker room.

Arielle eyed her as she came into view fully. The face was familiar. Definitely not from her house. "Ello Megan, I'm Arielle Snark..." she said with puffed up pride. The last name Snark rang echoes of both worry and delight. Girls seemed to fancy her cousin and uncle, while boys tended to grumble at the mere mention of them. Arielle found that she liked, for the most part, what the name afforded her. The only downside was the fear males had of fancying her because her uncle and cousin might make them vanish for kicks. They could be so bloody over protective. "You're a fourth year too huh... guess that would explain why you look familiar right?" Couldn't quite place her but she was sure that had to be the case. "So what are you doing around here kicking up dirt?"

At the start of her first year, Meg had to study her heart out just to attempt to fit in. Since she grew up in a muggle family, she had absolutely no knowledge of magic at all. Thus, she spent most of her free time in her first year reading on all sorts of subjects from Herbology, all the way down to Qudditch. During her studies, she was able to grow an appreciation for some of the subjects that she looked at, and now she simply enjoyed them.

Naturally, that was not the only thing on her plate. Not only did she have to study to try to act as if she knew what she was talking about, and what she was doing, but she had to socialize with other people as well. It was stress-filled events like the beginning of her first year that would normally lead to failure. However, it generally led to success. Of course, she still did not know a majority of the spells, but she did know a lot. In addition, she gained a plethora of knowledge as well.

At first, Meg had questioned why she was put in Ravenclaw at first. It was clearly not for her direct intelligence at the moment of the sorting, she knew very little of magic, except for the books that she read before coming to Hogwarts. It took her a while to notice why she was probably sorted into Ravenclaw. It was for her determination, and her study habits. The sorting hat probably realized that she would try her hardest to model her knowledge to that of the magical community.

Meg looked over at Arielle, and smiled to her. "Nice to meet you Arielle," she responded to her. She could have sworn that she heard of Arielle's last name before - Snark. However, she could not remember where. Yes, that was the very problem of integrating into the magical community. While books could give her the basic knowledge, the societal norms and information were not as readily available for her to know. Thus, she really had no idea. Therefore, she showed absolutely no emotion to Arielle's last name.

Pushing a piece of her brunette hair out of her eyes, Meg turned her attention again over at Arielle. Yes, she definitely remembered seeing this girl before in her classes. "Yes, I am. Yeah, it's that you look familiar, yet I know absolutely nothing about you," she responded with a nod. She shrugged to the question proposed to her. "I just finished a quick jog, and just generally thinking. What about you?" she asked.

Arielle never really studied. She just gathered the information and for the most part and just winged her exams. Her essays were mostly lack luster for the first three years of her Hogwarts career. Really nothing stellar glaring at her for her academic career. This would have most likely been her mother's bone of contention if she had lived long enough to see her baby girl make it to school.

Instead, Arielle being very much her father fell in love with sport. To play Quidditch made her feel free, there was nothing like kicking off the dirt and feeling the wind blow through her long strands of hair. Always she tied it up into a tight ponytail to keep it from whipping into her eyes as she shifted through the sky on her broom. That was her usual attitude on flying, all about speed and freedom.

Failures with school work had never seemed like something that weighed heavily on her. However with increasing focus growing on her grades thanks to her Aunt Analiza's interest in her niece's future she found she couldn't skate by any longer. So within the past year she had been putting more effort into the school work and exams. In fact she surprised herself that with a little bit of studying the improvement made had been measurable. She would have told her aunt that however by doing so she would be admitting that as usual her aunt was right and that just would not do.

Couching a little, Arielle gave her a nod, "Backatcha mate," she grinned a little crookedly. "You aren't meant to know everything about me thank Merlin, because if you did this might be awkward," she chuckled and stretched. "I was thinking of flying to get my mind off things. You know avoiding the Holiday's festivities best I can, how about you? You up for a little flight therapy?" Knowing that she couldn't do retail therapy during the school year, flight was a great option.

( hope you two don't mind)

Josh had decided to go down to the Quidditch Pitch, since he had been fairly tense ever since Remembering Day, and thought as little flying might help. Walking onto the pitch, broom in hand, he saw Megan Ruiz and Arielle Snark. Two friends of his who he didn't think knew each other very well. " Hello Meg, Arielle" he called out, walking over.

It had been her fault for being too stubborn to admit she liked fireworks. Unlike a good majority of people who were sensible enough to just go to Hogsmeade and view the fireworks normally, Orlaith Dewar had decided that holding up her reputation as a 'mature little girl' was far more important than enjoying any aspect of the rememberance day activities whatsoever. Someone would have had to have taken a picture of her smiling at the amusing reenactment or been inside her head to see her excitement at the fashion show before she admitted she liked anything.

As for the fireworks, well someone would have just needed to catch her snoozing near the quidditch pitch like she had done that morning.

To be fair, Orlaith didn't plan to fall asleep near the pitch, she was just tired because she had been doing this every night the firework display had been on show. Sitting on the grass, enveloped in a blanket with a few snacks and a hot drink to keep her company. Somehow she preferred viewing the fireworks this way than going to Hogsmeade because it was much less crowded - you couldn't get less crowded than being alone right? And she didn't have to put up with the overly loud bangs and fizzles and pops of that display. They were faint, barely audible sometimes and all Orlaith had to focus on was the pretty lights and colours.

Last night the lack of sleep had got to her though and she fell asleep outside as the fireworks died down. People clearly hadn't passed her since then and for that she had been grateful. Imagine the embarassment if people had noticed her lying there? But now she had a slightly panicked feeling, she could see the daylight and see that she had been outside the entire night. Add to that there was a voice calling out and Orlaith could tell it was pretty close. It was coming from the pitch.

She stood up, kicking the belongings she had taken out with her into a bush. Had the students there seen her? She glanced over to the entrance, they weren't anyone she knew from what she could see but then she wasn't all that close to them. Perhaps she could brush it off as she was simply waiting for someone... waiting for Jethro! Yeah.

"Hello... you three." Orlaith called cheerfully, forcing a smile as she approached the group. "Been here long?"

Of course, Meg's years at Hogwarts have not been centered around Qudditch and studying. True, those things did take up a good portion of her time. But, those were simply not the only things that she did. Along with studying, she liked to read books, deciding to read mostly anything that she could simply get her hands on. That did not just include anything magically related, but muggle related to. To put it simply, she liked books.

With her outgoing nature, Meg managed to make friends after first coming to Hogwarts, devoting a lot of time to fit in with her classmates. She would do anything for her friends, and would help them if they wanted to help. Naturally, that led her to break the rules a few times before. But, it wasn't anything that she couldn't get through, even with the detentions. On that note, she did not mind the countless adventures and the detentions respectively.

In addition, the fourth year Ravenclaw was an artist. Now, this fact she tried to hide as well as she possibly could. She feared criticism, and failed to show anyone else, even her best friend, her artwork. This year, she managed to show a few people from the Student Art Booth meeting, and others. Yet, that did not mean that she would show everyone. Nope, not yet. Yet, those were the happy moments that she had within Remembering Day.

Meg grinned, and tilted her head to one side. "If you don't mind, how would it be awkward?" she questioned. She laughed at the suggestion. "So, I'll take it that I'm not the only one who'd rather the events end sooner rather than later? Flying is always an awesome way to do that. I'm always up for flying," she responded with a nod. Since she played Qudditch, it ways essential that she liked to fly, since she managed to fly so often.

Hearing her name being called, Meg turned and noticed that Josh was joining them. "Hey Josh. How have you been?" she greeted her friend. The two of them were good friends, except for her questions. But, honestly, she needed to find out all of the information that she could, and sometimes that information could get mixed up. Sadly, it was hard for her to keep up with all of it.

Yet another person joined Arielle and her on the pitch. Meg had no idea where the newest one came from, having not seen her walking from when Josh came over. But, of course, it wasn't as if she honestly would've noticed, since she did not particularly pay attention. "Hey. I was jogging around the grounds before, so yes, I've been around for a bit. What about you?" she questioned.

" I've been OK, Meg. you?" Josh replied to Meg. The outgoing Ravenclaw was a good friend, and Josh had spend many enjoyable hours hanging out with her. They both played Quidditch, as did Arielle.

Then, Josh heard another student come up. " Hello Dewar. I juts got here myself. you been here long?" he asked, though looking at Orlaith Dewar, he could see the tell-tale signs that she had been lying down. The odd piece of grass, that sort of thing. Either she had been lying down, or had fallen over.

Arielle chuckled with Megan, "Because mate if you knew all about me we might think you are either A, stalking me or B, a major creep. However  from the looks of you I think you're on the straight and narrow so no worries..." She just laughed as she thought of the whole thing being rather silly. Shaking her head she let out a bit of a sigh, "No can't wait for this nonsense to be over with. I don't want to think anymore about the Battle of Hogwarts then I have to."

Everywhere she looked people were celebrating and she didn't feel much like doing that. What she wanted to do was fly, to go up high in the sky and forget the world. That wasn't asking much, Arielle didn't think so anyway. Her eyes kept darting towards the lockers where brooms were held, and her spare was hidden there. Since her original broom decided she and it belonged plowed into a tree, Arielle was dealing with an out of date Firebolt.

Not too soon after the last sentence left her mouth, two others seemed to appear from out of the wood work. Giving Josh a quick nod, "Hi Josh" she looked at the other more disheveled person who came into view. The blonde looked familiar but having never really interacted with her before her name was failing her. "Can't say we have been here too long..." Arielle blinked a little curious if anyone else was going to be joining them on the pitch. Maybe she wasn't alone in wanting to fly around for kicks. It wasn't the first time she came out here only to be joined by people from other houses during her times of flight.
