Laying back upon the grass Kirby Gracean could not help but think about what the year had ahead for her. Beside her she placed her class books and a notebook planning to begin a little and she did not know how possible that may had been when she had the upcoming club day on the 19th in the great hall.

Kirby had been made president of one of the favourite clubs the orchestra and choir. She had always been passionate about music since she was a little girl. Being brought up surrounded by a Muggle family and community influenced it a lot. She sat up as she pulled her perfectly curled hair of blonde behind her shoulders. She grabbed a pen and began to plan the schedules and sign up sheets for her club day so she did not have to worry about rushing nearer the time.
The sable german shepherd trotted a few paces ahead of Sasha as the Ravenclaw carried his books out onto the lawns.  The full moon had come and gone as uneventfully as one could hope, aside from a fairly restless and uneasy night of sleep.  It was Baldur, the shepherd, that decided their study spot.  For whatever inexplicable reason, the dog narrowed in on one patch of grass a short distance from a fellow sixth year and flopped down on his back to roll.

Sasha offered the Gryffindor an apologetic grin as he set his bag on the ground and sat down, himself.  He unzipped his bag and tugged out a handful of textbooks and several rolls of parchment and a couple spiral bound notebooks.  He flipped open his Arithmancy textbook and found the week's exercises.

"I heard you're the new Orchestra and Choir president," he offered Kirby, glancing up from his page.  The lists of clubs and appointed student leaders had been posted in the common rooms and Sasha had noticed Kirby's name as he checked the list for his own.  "Congratulations."
Kirby was doodling more then writing thinking about the time that was close to starting. She knew she would be a great leader of the orchestra and Choir as she had the knowledge and experience behind her. Not only was she an extremely pretty face as she had been told by other muggles well who thought she wad one in her local community bit she was a keen singer. She had been singing since she could remember and had made herself that confident with her voice that three years previous she had gained a place at the Royal Academy Of Opera for her professional training which she was still doing now with two years to go.

She noticed a beautiful German shepherd dog heading her way followed closely behind by a familiar face. A fellow sixth year even though she couldn't remember his name. Sarta? No that wasn't right. But when the dog sat just a short distance away and he exchanged an apologetic look in her direction she couldn't help but smile. Sasha! That was his name she remebered from the list of club leaders so when he asked her about her position she eagerly replied to him. "Yes you got Muggle didn't you? And thanks" she replied happily as her voice chimed with her usual velvet tone.
"I did," Sasha confirmed.  "I took it up last year.  It was our first year, though, so it wasn't a very big club."  Not to mention, he'd hit complications over the year that had severely effected his ability to participate in the club.  "Guess the easy part's done.  Now, we move on to planning and organizing."

He glanced towards Kirby and, in doing so, caught a glimpse of her notes and doodle-adorned plans.  "You're already getting started?" he asked, understandably impressed.  They'd only known about their appointments for a day or so and, already, she was launching herself full speed into the project.  "Hogwarts doesn't really have music classes, though, does it?  Does that mean you're the president as well as the conductor and such?"
Kirby smiled as she listened to sasha about his club. She admired him dreadfully for such a club as muggle appreciation. Being muggle born was a huge part of that she supposed. "Yes. Its so i have less to do as i have a bad habit of waiting until the last minute. And yes i will be running singing lesions as well as conducting. I am hoping to also teach those interested into being able to read sheet music" she explained.
"Oh," Sasha said simply at first.  He, himself, wasn't one to procrastinate if he had any choice.  Sasha was more the type to spend every waking moment pondering any remaining bullet point on the to-do list in his head.  "Well, that's good then.  Getting a head start.  It sounds it'll keep you busy."  Not only managing the club but teaching all the participants how to sing and conducting the productions.  It sounded like fun but, "so what happens when someone tries to join the group who really can't sing."  Like himself.  "Do you try to, you know, salvage them or tell them to find something else?"
Kirbys mind was drifting back.and forth through different topics. Her upcoming NEWT exams, leading one of the longest running clubs in hogwarts history. The tetra wizard tournament and most of all studying. "No time but the present i say. And i suppose that would depend on the person." she replied truthfully to him.
Sasha opened his mouth but closed it quickly, again.  It didn't happen often, but Sasha had managed to realize ahead of time that Kirby probably wasn't interested in a discussion about how peculiar a saying 'no time but the present' was.  Even if that very question had popped into his head before.

"As if the person was beyond hope or not?" Sasha asked.  "I guess you have to figure out if they can be salvaged or not."  Sasha suspected he was beyond help.  He could probably remember a little bit from his piano lesson days but it had been at least eight years since he'd sat on a piano bench.  And him - sing?  In front of other people?  Not likely.   "Do you ever have to tell someone they're just flat out hopeless?"
Kirby smiled lightly at the boy. "I have never actually been in that situation so far. I never really have had to judge before and i certainly know what it is like to be judged for your talent. Trust me being a student at royal isn't easy in the muggle world. People tend to how to put it mock me not that i am that bothered." she sighed slightly rambling about it and suddenly she was silent.
"They mock you for being bothered with trying to be the best you can be?"  He shook his head slightly.  If they'd been doing so to her, chances seemed good they'd been doing it to him, too.  He was just usually too busy to notice.

Sasha grinned slightly, nodding his head.  He knew very well the pressures of intense study and competition.  Not in singing or music, of course.  He'd abandoned piano lessons years ago.  "Yeah," Sasha sympathized, nodding his head.  "I think a lot of us know the feeling.  Especially if we compete in something."  After all, that's what competitions were for, right?  If one wasn't looking to have their skills judged against someone else's then, well, they'd participate in exhibitions, not competitions.

Even then, there was going to be a critic or two amongst the spectators.

"My mother and stepfather had pretty high expectations so there was always a lot at stake at my games and competitions.  But, I've never had to judge other people, either.  It has got to be tough.  It's counter-intuitive but I think it's easier to be told you're no good than to tell someone else they're no good.  Or, maybe that depends on the person."
Kirby smiled as she slid closer towards him as she listened. Finally someone who seemed to have similar knowledge of the muggle world and way of living as she had. Her parents had always been supportive luckily even though they were the only members of the Gracean family that did. She was far to different for the others to comprehend and support her fully. "Well being the only musician in the family with a natural gift can be hard as you may imagine but it will all work out. I only have two years at royal left then i am out off" she explained thoroughly.
"So, you study at Royal during the summer?"  Sasha asked.  That, obviously, made sense since getting to another school during the year wasn't possible.  Sasha already knew that.  "Is that what you're planning on doing after Hogwarts?  Music?"  It wasn't a very magical path but Sasha was more likely than most to understand taking a non-magically-steeped career path.  "Well, I don't have any musical gift.  I'd probably be the kid you kick out of the choir,"  Sasha admitted with a slight grin.  "But, that's why my father had me give up on piano lessons when I was eight.  He wanted me to focus on what I was actually good at."
Kirby smiled slightly amused as a giggle escaped quietly through her teeth. She had once wished to have a professional career in music but that faded once the magical world came into question. Sure she would continue as a hobby plus it would make a great back up but she really planned to become a professional quidditch player or a teacher at hogwarts in rather magical creatures or muggle studies . "Actually i want to teach or play quidditch for a living" she replied happily.
Teaching or quidditch.  "What would you want to teach?" he asked.  He supposed neither of those were really mutually exclusive, either.  Athletes tended to age faster and he was sure most pro-Quidditch players embarked upon some sort of second career after they've had as many skull-crushing collisions as their Healer will allow.  "I went through a pro-Quidditch phase my third year," Sasha admitted.  "It had come right after my diplomatic ambassador phase."  And, right before Sasha had matured enough to realize he hadn't had the foggiest idea what he wanted to do.  "If I did any sport professionally, now, it'd probably be riding.  Professionally or as a hobby."
Kirby smiled at him as she listened to what he was thinking and wanted to do both in the past and present times. She heard about his pro-quidditch phase as he called it. "I want to teach rather Muggle studies or Magical Creatures obviously because of my blood status for Muggle studies but i love magical creatures i used to read about them as a young girl when i was well normal as people class it back home" she answered him truthfully as she smiled at him kindly. She seemed to be slightly attached to this boy which was certainly bizarre for her. She was never one to get along with others usually so why was it so different now? She didn't understand at all.
