[Sept 5] Tour [Etienne Miroux]

on February 10, 2012, 06:46:59 PM

Evelyn stood in the Entrance Hall, glancing around. She had been asked by her head of house to make one of the visiting guests for the tournament feel welcome, and to make sure she gave them a tour. Evelyn had reluctantly agreed; she'd wanted this weekend to herself, time to get settled in and relax. But she had no such luck, and so here she was, waiting for a Beauxbatons student named Etienne Miroux. She didn't know much about him, other than the fact that he was a 7th year like her.

She didn't know how she was supposed to make him feel welcome, she wasn't the most outgoing of people. But she knew better than to argue with Professor Trishna. Now she stood waiting, trying to not feel aggravated and impatient.

Etienne knew a little more about his tour guide than she did about him. For starters, he was familiar with the name Kelly; a prominent pureblood family in Ireland, if memory served. And Evelyn herself, from what he had picked up, was both a prefect and the president of the Astronomy Club. Now, Etienne didn't hold much regard for Astronomy, but that Evelyn was in a position of that authority, not to mention among the ranks of the prefects, made her a Person Worth Knowing. Not that he intended to let on that he'd done his research; he liked to let people underestimate him wherever possible.

As he strode down the stairway into the Entrance Hall, he caught sight of the seventh-year girl without too much trouble, and walked briskly over to her. He slowed down as he reached her; he liked to appear just a little nervous when officially meeting new people, though in his mind he had each and every situation entirely under control. 'Good day,' he said quietly, in his barely accented English. 'Miss... Kelly? I am Etienne Miroux. Thank you for offering to show me around.' He gave a small smile, though it didn't look entirely natural on his thin face. 'I very much appreciate the opportunity to become better acquainted with the school.' That much was actually true; there was only so much Etienne could learn about a castle this size without help from a local denizen.
