Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #15 on August 19, 2012, 08:35:30 PM Blake returned Naomi's look. "Dont 'huh?' me. I'm sure you know exactly what I am suggesting, Naomi. You girls say we guys are crazy and we guys say the same about you." As he spoke, Blake indicated the space between them. "It's time to put all these....shennanigans to rest. Or to a test."It had been a rediculous sounding suggestion at first but given his Slytherin friend's response, he was more adament about pursuing it. Merlin's Beard, if fourth year girls were going to steal kisses and drive him crazy, he mightvas well have it be for the betterment of girl-boy relations. Besides, after candid conversations with Callum about the birds and the bees, he was a little anxious to test them out. Anxious and scared out of his mind. But that was puberty, right?Blake pushed those feelings down and his lips formed a determined line. Then he declared, "Consider it a challenge. Bring this back to the girls, Naomi, that this is a dare." She really didn't have any idea how to wrap her mind around what he was saying--or acting. Somewhere in the back of her mind she just hoped he was possessed, but a chill in her chest perished the thought. He was just determined. Determined to kiss people.A platinum blond hue began to bleed into the ends of her hair as she looked away from him and sourly pursed her lips together, considering his demand. 'No' seemed like the right answer but she couldn't find a reason for it, and so the words weren't forming on her lips. Rather than refrain from saying something stupid she just accepted his 'challenge', "Fine," she swallowed before looking back at Blake with eyebrows eye on her head, "But I'm not going to test anyt'ing." He didn't say anything about her in the challenge after all. The bane of word choice--and she turned away and hopped up from the tree before he could try and make another demand. She hopped up from the tree and began to survey all her surroundings, except Blake. She snaked her arms together as she kept her back to her friend, "I'm fine being crazy," her voice seemed to hum on the verge of strained disbelief, "Making fish lips at people won't change 'dat." Maybe a jarvey would suddenly appear and make a more convincing and harsher argument to her friend's ridiculous idea. Or maybe it was time for their next class--Ancient Runes with Aileen Reid sounded like a welcome break from talk of crazy people and kissing. And though there was still much for him to learn about his Slytherin friend's moods and what made her tick as a person, Blake felt he had a pretty decent enough grasp of the basics. And he was sensing a unique response from his usually cool, calm and confident classmate -- uncertainty perhaps? The Ravenclaw narrowed his eyes as she gave her input on his idea, particularly the declaration that she wasn't going to do anything. And then she abruptly stood. Blake felt awkward looking up at her, so he unfolded himself from his seated position and stood as well, crossing his arms in front of him as he regarded her with amusement."Fine," he returned agreeably. "Enjoy being crazy then."Blake then started to walk towards the castle with a little skip in his step and then turned back to face her. He slowly continued to back away from her. With a quirky half grin, he offered her a shrug, as if he wasn't sure what else could help her with her ailment. Then he smirked when he thought of the fish lips that she was so adverse to.He was tempted to stick his tongue out at her, but instead, he twisted his lips as best as he knew how and made a kissy face at her. After feeling silly for a moment, he quipped, "I'll just go find someone else to practice with...." He seemed to understand where she was coming from, but clearly decided to go the other way. It wasn't what she wanted to do and wasn't what she hoped he do, but she wasn't about to turn around and commit to kissing people to keep her friend's company. She snaked her hands down to her hips as she looked away again and with her lazy half-lidded stare and calmly declared, "I will."Her green gaze slid back towards Blake to see if he was really going all the way back to the castle, and sure enough the boy was, but not without puckering his lips up to make the face of a sucker fish. Her hair flared orange as Naomi arched a brow and narrowed a suspicious stare at the boy until he finally spoke. Then she let her gaze wander away again as she breathed a short huff of air and glared off at some rotting tree. She turned her head back towards her friend as the rest of her body turned and walked to the side, "And I'm going 'dis way and--" she abruptly halted as a large vine got caught on her boot. Quickly, she slipped her foot out from beneath it and continued walking and talking in whatever direction it was she was going, "--and find somet'ing else to spend my time wit'." She marched over a large patch of leaves and dove under a tree trunk until she looked over to see her friend wasn't really anything other than an infuriating blotch of color walking off towards the castle. Naomi gave a slow sigh and slumped onto the grass while letting her curls melt into straight raven hair as if someone dumped a bucket of water on her--but some of her hair seemed to give a light tug upwards. She lifted her gaze up and saw a young golden orb weaver spider knitting a wide white web--complete with random strands of her long black hair zig-zagging into the web--but, once it realized Naomi was watching, it froze. She glared at the little thing, before she sighed stuck her legs out in front of her, and looked at something that just completed making her day feel as weird as possible. Up a few stone steps that led to the large trunk of an old oak tree there was something strange. Two big. Red. Doors. As the witch felt the spider tug at her hair again she glared at the large dutch doors, knowing the minute she got up to knock on them, that her day might get exasperatingly longer. End.
