[Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] on February 08, 2012, 01:01:23 AM Once Naomi had exited Transfiguration class with Blake, and began to make her way out off the castle, and to the shrouded environs around the Forbidden Forest, she felt worlds better than she had before. But that didn't erase the stern cut of her sage stare, the lazy uninterested looseness of her eyebrows, or the way her hair dangerously flared several shades of red and orange once her and her friend were wandering beneath trees and through tall weeds. Luckily there was no one around to see them except plants and crap.Naomi didn't really care about anything else right now, but having creatures class everyday seemed loads more preferable than dealing with Sandusky, regardless of hair color. She didn't think that Professor Hagrid was smart enough to figure out why her hair was different colors anyway, or that they were suppose to be in Transfiguration.Of course Naomi didn't realize until they were stalking around the Hogwarts grounds that she didn't actually know where Professor Hagrid's office was or where he was staying in Hogwarts. She just assumed he'd be rather easily accessible. She finally let go of Blake and sighed, her hair settling into a darker red as she grumpily looked around at the plant-overrun environment, "Can't put up wit' professors you need to, can't find 'di ones you want--what's with this school?" She'd just about had it with school-related shenanigans this year. And she had a feeling that ignoring it wasn't going to make things easier, but it would work for now. One minute he had been speeding into the Transfiguration classroom and the next he was being dragged by Naomi down the hallways of the castle. In truth, she didn't have to do much dragging at all, as Blake doubted that he would have been able to contribute much to the class anyway.Still, somewhere in the back of his mind he was already recognizing that this was not the most ideal way to begin his school year.Once they were outside, Blake's eyes widened in surprise to see Naomi's hair change colors and his thoughts turned to wondering what had really happened to make her so upset. Delicately tugging for her to slow down, he ventured, "So....d'ya mind telling me what happened?" Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #2 on February 24, 2012, 01:47:13 PM A gentle tug made Naomi draw her pace to an end, stopping as she turned to here friend. She pursed her lips together in consideration of whether or not she should answer his question or how she should do it. She shrugged dismissively, "Nothing," her voice was lilting with the innocence of a poltergeist. Then she raised her eyebrows and as her hair twisted and curled with a deep indigo, "because I left," her tone bit. Naomi wasn't about to sit and shut up and behave in a class with a professor who thrived on being a bully and taking away something important from students to get them to behave. Disrespect could only lead to more disrespect. Finally, strands of hair fell into a wavy texture as she shook her head, "He threatened to take my wand, Blake/ For twirling," she flipped the twisted device through her fingers as an example, "An' said it was why I can't pay attention, because saying I can turn somethin' into a rock is apparently di' same t'ing," she then flicked a spell at a nearby stone and it rolled into a fat black lizard, "as callin' it a rock."She relaxed her shoulders and shrugged again, her hair calmed into darker colors, "'Dere's a lot of t'ings in 'dis school I don't like, or have to like, but it's not goin' to stop me from respecting." she crossed her arms and admired the scenery before she looked back at her friend, "Being deaf in 'di head's something else." Blake's brow was almost in danger of being permanently furrowed now as he bore his crystalline gaze into his Slytherin friend's. Just as she was able to differentiate between his moods and what he needed (most often a kick in the arse to keep him motivated), Blake had been around Naomi enough to know when she was having problems. Being a metamorphagi didn't always help in hiding it either.Smirking, he said, "Well if that was nothing, I wonder what something would be." Blake never doubted the witch's abilities. He even believed that she was one of the most talented in their year, albeit not in the typical, know-it-all kind of way."SO, what are we going to do now that we're skipping class?" He gave her a feigned look of disappointment. "Weren't you the one trying to keep me on the right path here? How am I going to be Head Boy in seventh year if I get a reputation as a trouble maker and a class skipper?" Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #4 on February 25, 2012, 04:16:00 PM Naomi pursed her thick lips again as Blake went on to gloss his response with an egregious amount of optimism and jest. It was fairly annoying, but Blake knew too well how to get Naomi to change her tune, "Well, wit' a professor, the most clever student option would to sit 'dere and constructively criticize him wit' loads of snark," a genuine smile peered from the witch's lips, "But you came in from 'di aftermath of that," she hugged a shoulder to her cheek and she sat down on an overgrowth of tangled roots beneath the dappled shades of a tree. She sighed, and laid back on the trunk of the tree, "I could go like a Jamaican and let karma bite his end, but he's not worth a duel let alone a karma curse," she let her hazel gaze survey the leaves of the overhanging branches above her as she continued, "So I figured 'creatures was a better class to go to," she smiled at Blake again, "Doubt Professor Hagrid knows better 'den anyone else what we should be doing right now. Just can't find him for a dragon's dump, right now."Even if Naomi was always challenging and aggressive, Blake's snark and criticism towards her were a creature comfort, a comfort about truth, even if she disagreed, "'Dere's a different between skipping class to walk a better path and sitting in class to become an slack-jawed inferi," Naomi drawled as he dug her heel into a root, as she looked back at her friend, "Better of two evils, Blake."Then she gave him a hard and analytical stare as she finally added, "Whachyou wanna be Head Boy for anyway?" Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #5 on February 27, 2012, 11:48:31 AM "Yeah, I came in after all the fun, apparently," he responded wryly. "Someone didn't even let me take any notes. How rude..." His lips twisted into a fake pout. "Because you know Transfig is, like, my most favorite-est class ever. As exciting as Divination or...Astronomy, even."Blake was glad that his friend seemed to be calming down. Despite the fact hat it was usually Naomi looking out for him more than he seemed to look out for her, he realized that perhaps it was more equal than he thought. His disposition complimented hers.He moved over to the tree and took a seat at the base of the trunk next to her, his longer legs crinkling awkwardly in front of him. "Karma curse? Wouldn't some voodoo thing be more effective?" he suggested. "You know, someone once told me about this muggle movie about a teenage witch who made a voodoo doll of her teacher who was picking on her in class and all sorts of funny things happened because of it. Like her brother threw the doll into the washing machine and the teacher ended up going through a carwash." Blake grinned mischeviously. "Maybe you can do something like that to Professor Sandusky."Still grinning, Blake waved off the discussion of class skipping and delinquency and ultimately the thought of becoming Head Boy. "Naw, I don't want to be Head Boy. Not really anymore, anyway. I'd have to work really hard for Professor Trishna to even want to submit my name for such a thing down the road....after Straight A's. And I don't know if I want to work that hard for it. Baxter can be Head Boy. I'll be Quidditch Captain after Peyton graduates." He raised his arm and flexed a muscle, cheekily saying, "That's when I'll be all grown and sexy..." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #6 on February 27, 2012, 02:35:07 PM Naomi rolled her lips together, trying to hide the smile that threatened to make her start giggling at Blake's favorite-est class ever comment. Describing a class as exciting could only be drawn from a very subjective experience. Naomi gave a hollow pop of her lips, using the odd sound to correct Blake rather than to be amused."Karma curse is a Voodoo t'ing," she said before biting back a twisted cringe at the thought of voodoo dolls and the muggles' entertainment world's funny way of interpreting them. At least they could be funny. She pursed her lips back together, "'Dere's like so many types of 'dem and not a lot really used to be malicious, and still is a lot of werk to do somet'in wit' it." Not to mention her mother would kill her if she found out. Then Blake mentioned that he'd prefer to be Quidditch Captain after Peyton, rather than Head Boy--something that she would more readily support him as, but the thought of Blake being all 'grown and sexy' nearly threw her into another fit of laughter. But because she was alone with a friend, and needn't worry about what color her hair was, she chose to mask her emotions with a dramatic flare. With a roll of her green eyes, a sigh, and a flare of orange in her curl locks, Naomi gently pushed Blake's ever-so-muscular arm down by his side. She trained her eyes on the treetrop, reached over and pressed the back of her hand against his forehead, and then waited for a warmth to settle between them in the cool afternoon breeze. Finally, Naomi clicked her tongue against her teeth, "An 'den you'll come down wit' a fever for a pretty gal," then her hand flipped over, and with the heel of its palm forcefully bopped the Ravenclaw on the back of his head, "and a rogue bludger will get chyour head," she smiled with a sarcastic lilt, "and you'll be as delusional as ever." She leaned back against the tree again and stared at her skirt and leggings, and then Blake's pant legs as she mused about school, "We got t'ree years left Blake, you can be anyt'ing you want to be if you want to." Then she proudly turned her head up at him as she airily answered, "I'll be here to be mean to you 'til you do.""I mean you ever read about 'dem bumbla-heads who did nothin' but mediocre wit' Divination, Quidditch, Arithmancy, Runes, and Charms, hittin' bludgers to 'di moon and mars all day long for research an' laughs?" Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #7 on April 09, 2012, 11:44:55 PM "Then voodo-ing is out," Blake agreed with a simplistic shrug and an impish grin. He wasn't all that serious about the suggestion to begin with. He wouldn't know the first thing about doing that sort of magic and he wasn't about to ask her for a tutorial on it.He would much rather talk about other things anyway -- like Quidditch. And seeing Naomi's mood lighten with the topic change made him feel a little better about their situation. Even if she was poking fun at his own attempts at bravado."Fever?" He flinched with her light slap against the back of the head. With feigned indignation, he retorted, "Why would I want to do that? Pretty gals are...." He tried to think of the right word to use that would describe the members of the opposite sex, especially after his encounters with the likes of Ayla and Winnie in the past year. Finally, he eeked out, "Pretty crazy."Blake waved those thoughts off as soon as they came. "I would much rather be delusional by bludger, thank you very much."The Ravenclaw mirrored Naomi's stance against the tree, nudging her gently with his shoulder as he did so. "I think I will just go with the flow and see what happens. A lot can happen in three years."His brow furrowed as she spoke of the group of delinquents. "No, I don't think so. Err....Maybe? Refresh my memory, hmm?" Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #8 on April 10, 2012, 02:03:59 PM Naomi's lips bent into a soft smile when Blake admitted girls were crazy; she wondered if he was just reminiscing over the drama with Ayla and or Winnie's theft of his first kiss. At least he was lucky enough to have avoided a drowning-by-being-pushed-from- a-surfboard-makeout kind of kiss. Naomi pursed her lips at the thought of her summer embrace as Blake laid back against the tree and nestled next to her. Maybe that's just what first kisses were suppose to be like: awkward, quick, and pilfered. Before she could well on it anymore Blake brought her attention to bludgers. The Slytherin's hair faded into darker shades of blue and purple hues with a tinge of white highlighst, as a corner of her lips curled a smirk onto her face and she shook her head. With her eyes drawn to the sky the Slytherin recanted the tale in her lazy lilt, "Dey dismantled bludgers on their lawn wit divination--a veela and two wizards dubbed 'Di Backyard Bludgers. Then they put 'dem back together wit' runes and enchantments and batted bludgers to 'th' moon and took pictures of asteroid and bludger craters."Of course Naomi completely forgot why they did that, other than it seemed like a fun thing to do. Her hazel-green eyes landed back on Blake and she shrugged her shoulder, sluggishly brushing it against his arm, "But 'dey never brought 'em down, so when th' muggle space race began 'dey scrambled--made some fancy dimensional doors to send to th' moon got 'dem bludgers back 'fore Legstrong--err Armsrtrong put a foot down.""Am sure 'they couldn't use divination well enough to predict somet'in like 'dat would happen, 'dey just..." Naomi's gaze fell on the tangled roots at her and her friend's feet before her gaze again met Blake's, and then she repeated his own words as she turned her palm up towards him, "went wit' the flow," Of course Naomi would prefer Blake didn't go with the particular flow that trolled him out of all his classes. "But maybe you can figure out some Divination or put some of your Arithmancy to good and figure out what you'd enjoy doing," Naomi firmly pressed a finger to Blake's chest before she redirected her digit at herself as her voice smoothed with a jesting tone, "And 'den you can tell me what makes your kind crazy, Blake." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #9 on July 28, 2012, 10:43:00 PM Blake sighed and and closed his eyes for a moment as his head settled back back against the tree and Naomi set about telling him the story of the Backyard Bludgers. If he didn't know better, he'd say it sounded like a strange fairy tale or bedtime story. All it needed was a "Once upon a time".His eyes flew open when she humorously misspoke the name of the muggle astronaut. He cracked a smile and immediately tried to quell it by biting his lower lip as she continued on and then looked at him.He tried to be serious and nodded as she talked about the possibility of using Divination and Arithmancy to figure out what he wanted to do. Eyes followed her finger as it jabbed first to his chest and then flicked back to point to herself. "My kind crazy?" he echoed, his tone incredulous. He vehemently shook his head. "I have no idea what you mean by that..." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #10 on July 29, 2012, 03:24:38 PM Naomi's dark brows furrowed with doubt while her lips pursed into a smile, "Really?" a chuckle hummed in her throat. She lifted up a closed hand and uncurled a finger for her tap as she studied Blake's features. "Ambrose stares at Emilijah in class," another finger uncurled as Naomi rose an eyebrow, "Connor..." her voice creeped to a silence before she shook her head, "Not going to even bother with 'dat," she tapped another uncurling finger, "Kelvin's jus been acting weirder lately," then her last finger uncurled and she turned her hand over and pointed it at her Ravenclaw friend, "and 'den there was the nonsense wit' you and Ayla last year,"The Slytherin crossed her arms and leaned back against the tree, as her hair still curled with colors, "If all us girls are crazy then what are you boys' coming down wit?" Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #11 on August 14, 2012, 08:50:17 PM "Well, I can't tell you why Ambrose does what he does. Or Connor. Or Kelvin. I just know me." He jabbed his thumb to his chest. "And I say that you girls are stranger." He gave Naomi a quirky half grin and mirrored his friend's actions by crossing his arms over his chest. Then he just shrugged. "I think we just need to agree to disagree here. Or agree that girls and boys are their own kind of crazy." Leaning back against the tree trunk, he turned his head to look over at Naomi. "So the question then becomes what are we going to do about it? Maybe....if you and I figure out a solution, we can pass it on to everyone else. Then we all won't be driving each other crazy well into our 7th year." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #12 on August 14, 2012, 11:32:30 PM Blake immediately rebuked Naomi's comment and stated his own opinion on the matter of boy crazy vs. girl crazy, which illicited a, "Sure, sure," from Naomi's smiling lips. The Slytherin leaned her head back against the tree and unfurled her arms to her side while Blake proposed they discovered a solution to a problem that might drive their entire year crazy in the far future. She turned her head towards his shoulder as she arched a brow gave the boy a coy smirk, "Yes, I agree, you are your own kind of crazy, Blake.""Especially wit' 'dat idea," She lifted a hand and inspected her nails as she continued, "Maybe if you understood the problem, but unless you learn the why behind ogling people, being awkward, or snogging people--" she turned to face him again as she gave him a doubtful glance and let a cheeky tone rise with her lilting voice, "Won't get very far wit' 'that solution." Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #13 on August 16, 2012, 07:36:45 PM "My own kind of crazy," he echoed, giving the Slytherin a sidelong glance. "Have you met my family?" It was a rhetorical question because of course he knew she had. But his point in asking was to stress how his kind of crazy was directly connected to their kind of crazy. Then he flashed her a rueful smile. "And it's not that bad of an idea. And of course I don't understand the problem. Otherwise we wouldn't be sitting here talking about this. I'm sure we could get our study group to explore it." His tone and expression were hopeful. "Yanno, a proper research and study of the phenomenon of what makes us tick. Think you could get the girls to participate?" Skip to next post Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #14 on August 16, 2012, 08:21:56 PM Naomi gave Blake a hard look as she twisted her lip for a moment, then her lips slowly parted until her voice finally drawled out, "Huh?" She furrowed her brows, still completely at a loss for what Blake said, or its implications. Her hair finally faded into a dark blue as she finally looked away and at their feet and then back to her friend's face."Wait, what? How?" Her eyes searched around the tree trunk as if there was something to deter Blake's thoughts from this ridiculous plan, "Why can't we just ask Ronni or Connor about it and leave it like 'dat? We don't all need to 'explore' it..." She drew her shoulder to her cheek as she rolled her lips together and tried to give her friend a confident look, but she just managed to seem more suspicious and perturbed at the thought as she continued, "...wit' everyone else, or whatever you're cooking up in your weirdo head." "I would much rather be delusional by bludger, thank you very much."The Ravenclaw mirrored Naomi's stance against the tree, nudging her gently with his shoulder as he did so. "I think I will just go with the flow and see what happens. A lot can happen in three years."His brow furrowed as she spoke of the group of delinquents. "No, I don't think so. Err....Maybe? Refresh my memory, hmm?" Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #8 on April 10, 2012, 02:03:59 PM Naomi's lips bent into a soft smile when Blake admitted girls were crazy; she wondered if he was just reminiscing over the drama with Ayla and or Winnie's theft of his first kiss. "But maybe you can figure out some Divination or put some of your Arithmancy to good and figure out what you'd enjoy doing," Naomi firmly pressed a finger to Blake's chest before she redirected her digit at herself as her voice smoothed with a jesting tone, "And 'den you can tell me what makes your kind crazy, Blake." Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #9 on July 28, 2012, 10:43:00 PM Blake sighed and and closed his eyes for a moment as his head settled back back against the tree and Naomi set about telling him the story of the Backyard Bludgers. "I have no idea what you mean by that..." Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #10 on July 29, 2012, 03:24:38 PM Naomi's dark brows furrowed with doubt while her lips pursed into a smile, "Really?" a chuckle hummed in her throat. She lifted up a closed hand and uncurled a finger for her tap as she studied Blake's features. "Ambrose stares at Emilijah in class," another finger uncurled as Naomi rose an eyebrow, "Connor..." her voice creeped to a silence before she shook her head, "Not going to even bother with 'dat," she tapped another uncurling finger, "Kelvin's jus been acting weirder lately," then her last finger uncurled and she turned her hand over and pointed it at her Ravenclaw friend, "and 'den there was the nonsense wit' you and Ayla last year,"The Slytherin crossed her arms and leaned back against the tree, as her hair still curled with colors, "If all us girls are crazy then what are you boys' coming down wit?" Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #11 on August 14, 2012, 08:50:17 PM "Well, I can't tell you why Ambrose does what he does. Or Connor. Then we all won't be driving each other crazy well into our 7th year." Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #12 on August 14, 2012, 11:32:30 PM Blake immediately rebuked Naomi's comment and stated his own opinion on the matter of boy crazy vs. girl crazy, which illicited a, "Sure, sure," from Naomi's smiling lips. The Slytherin leaned her head back against the tree and unfurled her arms to her side while Blake proposed they discovered a solution to a problem that might drive their entire year crazy in the far future. She turned her head towards his shoulder as she arched a brow gave the boy a coy smirk, "Yes, I agree, you are your own kind of crazy, Blake.""Especially wit' 'dat idea," She lifted a hand and inspected her nails as she continued, "Maybe if you understood the problem, but unless you learn the why behind ogling people, being awkward, or snogging people--" she turned to face him again as she gave him a doubtful glance and let a cheeky tone rise with her lilting voice, "Won't get very far wit' 'that solution." Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #13 on August 16, 2012, 07:36:45 PM "My own kind of crazy," he echoed, giving the Slytherin a sidelong glance. Think you could get the girls to participate?" Skip to next post
Re: [Sept 2] Show Me the Door [PM] Reply #14 on August 16, 2012, 08:21:56 PM Naomi gave Blake a hard look as she twisted her lip for a moment, then her lips slowly parted until her voice finally drawled out, "Huh?" She furrowed her brows, still completely at a loss for what Blake said, or its implications. We don't all need to 'explore' it..." She drew her shoulder to her cheek as she rolled her lips together and tried to give her friend a confident look, but she just managed to seem more suspicious and perturbed at the thought as she continued, "...wit' everyone else, or whatever you're cooking up in your weirdo head."
