Starting Again (Blossom) [Saturday]

on February 05, 2012, 10:25:12 PM

Rico felt refreshed on Saturday morning. He usually did on Saturdays, he just felt full of energy 9:00, most people should be up already, if not, they were about to be woken. Now, as a song-writer Rico could be a little crazy, and that's okay. He pulled out his guitar and started strumming the Saturday song, in case you weren't familiar, it goes a little like this.

Oh, it's the best day of the week, Saturday (Saturday)
You may wanna sleep in (sleep in)
But get on up! there's......
Things to do!
Places to see!
People to meet!
And all those things you can't do on the other 6 days (other 6 days)
Cause it's Saturday! (Saturday!)
Saturday (Saturday)
It is Saturday!

That should get everyone up! Rico wasn't trying to be a pest, but this was just one of those things that people do as part of their every Saturday routines, this song was Rico's. Rico strummed and sang around the dorm and opened the curtain of Blossom's four-poster and sang loudly in his ear. "Saturday!" He continued to hum to his weekend tune as he got dressed. All his homework was done and his favorite sneakers had been calling to him.

Taco curled around his ankles. "Feliz Sábado! ¿Quieres salir a jugar al fútbol gatito? " He jeered as he pulled his favorite football out of his trunk, he didn't want to play alone, so he opened the windows to let the fresh air in and once more stuck his head in between the curtain of Blossom's bed "Hey amigo wanna go outside and play a few one-on-one matches?" Rico suggested holding up the football.

"I can think of something else I'd like to do with matches," Blossom groaned, throwing  pillow at Rico.  It sailed over Rico's shoulder and landed on the floor in the middle of the room.  "What is that thing you're holding and what do you do with it?  Fire sparks at it until it explodes?"

Blossom had never seen a football before but then he'd never spent a great deal of time doing anything strenuous.  His poor health and deep involvement in the wizarding world had kept him blissfully ignorant of the sports played by Muggles and those odd wizards who preferred games that involved the use of muscles over those that used wands.

It took Blossom a moment to remember that he was supposed to make Rico his best friend but the boy's odd habits were definitely making it difficult.

Rico dodged the pillow with ease. "Dude, you're serious? What rock did you just call out under from? It's a football see?" He bounced the ball on the floor, easily catching it on the inside of his foot. He juggled around with it until it reached his head. It dropped down again.

Blossom grunted on about matches. "Amigo, it's a game. Come on, we'll go out to the grounds by the lake, we might even meet a few other first years along the way." Blossom turned over. That was it. Rico took the ball high, above his head, like a toss-in, and chucked it at Blossom's torso. "You're gonna get up right now and I'm going to teach you to play football, whether you like it, or not!" He grabbed Blossom's hand that peeked out of the sheets and tugged. "Let's go! You are going to have some fun. Don't make me play the Saturday song again!" He knew his song annoyed people, it was perfect blackmail for saturdays...

The ball against his ribs almost knocked the wind out of him.  "Stop pulling me," Blossom groused.  "I am not a cart full of topsoil.  I'll get up, just stop pulling and stop singing."

Knowing that resistance was futile, Blossom got dressed.  It seemed that Rico wanted to make him have some fun, whether he wanted to or not.

I can always kill him later.
