Physical Description:
Standing at five feet even, Poppy is the sort of size people would generally peg for playing Seeker, but she's sturdy rather than skinny, and she packs a lot of wiry muscle into her short frame. She's a lot stronger than she looks, and packs a wallop with a Beater's bat. Her father's Chinese heritage is evident in her looks, giving her beautifully almond-shaped eyes, so dark they look almost black, giving her face a very intense look. Her choppy black hair falls just past her shoulders when loose, but she almost always keeps it bundled into a pony-tail.
Personality Description:
Poppy is incredibly driven. She doesn't always have to be the best, necessarily, but she has always felt a need to succeed and surpass expectations. Quidditch isn't the only thing she's good at, but it is the thing she's best at, so ever since she made the house team back in Hogwarts it's been what she's focussed most of her energy on. And when she graduated and no longer had school work to worry about, her efforts only increased. Most of her life revolves around Quidditch, though not to the extent that she doesn't have friends outside of it. But her forceful, ambitious nature makes her the kind of friend who is not for the faint-hearted.
History:
Poppy was the third-born and youngest child of American Martin Feng and Scottish Frances Ogilvy. Growing up in a small town like Montrose was frustrating for a little girl with big ambitions, and when Poppy learned she was a witch and was invited to attend Hogwarts, she realised she had a chance that neither of her older brothers did, and was determined to make the most of it.
Poppy's ambitious nature got her sorted into Slytherin, where she thrived both socially and academically, but her real talent became apparent during her first flying lesson. She was a natural on a broomstick. Having never been so easily good at something before, the new-found talent went to her head a little at first, but over time she settled down enough to be a reliable player on her house team, where she favoured the Beater position.
Upon graduation, she had a number of avenues open to her as a career path, but she was adamant that she make the most of her talent for Quidditch while she was still young. When she was too old to play well anymore, then she'd start thinking about putting her NEWTs to use. She was lucky enough to get a few offers, but a rare sense of sentimentalism made her choose the Montrose Magpies. Well, sentimentalism, and the fact that they were the highest up in the league at the time.
Having been a Beater for the Magpies for a few years now, Poppy is a fairly well established member of the team and gets along with her team mates just fine for the most part. Nothing so far has abated her competetive edge, however.
Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Poppy Feng is a thundering dynamo who pushes herself to be her best and advance her team in the league as far as possible. While she does have a life outside of Quidditch, nothing rivals the passion she has for the sport.
