LONDON - St. Mungo's Hospital of Magical Maladies & Injuries was the scene of some very disturbing illness this week in yet another Werewolf-Gone-Awry mishap.  On the 7th of June, werewolf patients had been admitted with strange symptoms after their last transformation.  What occurred next is sure to remind readers of the infamous Ides of March attacks where eye-witness spotted werewolves fully transformed during the day.

"Direwolf is not an accepted term!" emphasized a St. Mungo's spokes person.

And yet, the incidents of that 7 July are hard to separate from the growing 'direwolf' phenomenon.  Eyewitnesses at St. Mungo's, including respected Healers and other non-delusional people, observed werewolf patients transforming during the day, after already having transformed over the full moon.  These werewolves then went on a nearly fatal rampage across the entire floor.

Several people were injured and several more were trapped for some time in a closet including a delegation of Gringotts Goblins and Hogwarts Governor Persepolis Zephyr.

Zephyr told us, "It was a fretful occasion, but the Healers of St. Mungo's were as prepared as they could be.  No harm befell us under the protection of Healer Foley."

Head Healer Delilah Foley overhauled St. Mungo's werewolf readiness regime after the March attacks.  During the incident, one Simon Greenburg also showed his training by keeping patients, Healers and visitors safe in other parts of the hospital.  We spoke with several other Healers including Kale Ferris, and Vivienne Thorpe who described in more detail the new precautions that saved life and limb that day.

"Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and always consult your local arithmancer!"  Wise words, even when dealing with Direwolves.  Or whatever we're supposed to call them.
