Member Made of Win, January! on January 24, 2012, 07:06:39 PM Member Made of Win, January!Congrats, Will!Member Board"Will’s characters are some of the most interesting that I’ve come across, Potterverse or not. From Dotti to Dingy, Philo to Helio, Mace to Casey, things always get more interesting when one of them comes around, because they’ve got so many layers and quirks. Plus, it’s fascinating to peek ahead at the plotting or behind at past threads and see how they all evolve over the course of their stories. Let’s face it, Will’s a great writer. Plotting with him always gets me inspired. Plus, he’s helpful and supportive, and even when the big ideas fall through, he always follows up. Working with him is one of my favorite parts of A.O., and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next."A Few Recent ThreadsHeliotrope in Standing by the ShorePhilo in Some Call It CozyDrea in Letters to BeverlyCasey in A Day OutAnadotti in The IncidentSissel in What Do You Mean, a Mop is More Aerodynamic?Ligeia in Poisoned Dragon's LiverCharactersHeliotrope LeJeanObderedria PienasPhilo FalkinCasey O'DohertyDingy §Sissel JowdAnadotti SquiggsLigeia CanterburyMace SteinbeckGerard GriesThoughts and ImpressionsDamn. That meant he'd been french kissed by a fish. Fish girl. Whatever - a fish-like thing. Somehow he'd sleep better if his brothers never found out about that, or it'd be his epitaph. Tynan MacFusty: Fish Snogger. Better than 'Sheep Buggerer', he supposed, but still -- ~Tynan MacFusty (on Heliotrope LeJean)Her eyes flitted over the woman again. Why not? Something about early 90s Americana meets... chaos seemed about right. It was marketable, to be sure. Her apparent inability to remain quiet and in one pose might be many a photographer’s worst nightmares (even a wizarding photographer, for whom the final productive was generally animated), but there was also be something... quirky and experimental about it. Not to mention, Ellie loved to capture action; that was what sports photography was all about it. ~Eleanor St. James (on Anadotti Squiggs)A rather cruel eyebrow lifted on Ventus's face. Did the child honestly intend to hex him? In his own house? Such audacity in youth these days. Not to mention a foolish gesture. Ventus could easily perform wordless magic, he did so much of it daily without even thinking about it. The fact that this boy thought he would be able to get a spell cast off before he himself could was laughable. But then again, Ventus was idly curious if the child had any bite.~Ventus Shang (on Casey O'Doherty)There was something about listening to Ligeia that was abjectly depressing, except for how much joy their was behind her tightly knitted sentences. Figaro found himself both, as we said, on the verge of depression, but entertained at the spectacle of the girl. After five years in classes, the idea that she was putting on had to be dispelled just based on the sheer pervasiveness of the persona. This is just the way Ligeia was, apparently. ~Figaro Sellaphix (on Ligeia Canterbury)That Corey had come to have this view could partly be attributed to his many conversations with the school's academic advisor, Gerard Gries. The man had become one of few adults in his life who Corey held in high regard. Thus, it was no surprise that upon returning to school, and throughout the trip to the UK, Corey regularly sought him out for informal chatter. But there had hardly been enough time for deep conversation about the future and specifically about tournament strategy. ~Corey Gaubert (on Gerard Gries) Skip to next post Re: Member Made of Win, January! How you manage to keep a bajillion characters going the way you do is beyond me, but you do it beautifully. And you're always up for plotting, and great to bounce ideas around with, especially since you have so many great ideas yourself. Also, I really appreciate how understanding you are that life can slow things down sometimes. It's been awesome getting to write with you so far, and I look forward to Pax working with Philo to organise the Gaming Club, Etienne getting perplexed by Ligeia, and any other combinations we come up with. Congrats! Skip to next post Re: Member Made of Win, January! Reply #8 on January 25, 2012, 06:56:02 PM Huzzah! Congrats, Will! I loved our threads with Dotty and Sissel, they're wonderful charries.
