Wand:12” Ivy Wood with Chimera Scale.  The wand is rigid, but has a spiral design that leads down to the tip.  The wand is a representation of the Vandalier line.  It signifies strength and the desire to protect all life.

Cyrus’ wand is passed down to every other Generation in the Vandalier bloodline.  He received this wand when he became 11 from his Grandfather.  It is extremely powerful and often causes spells to be more effective than intended and requires a bit of strength and stamina to successfully wield it. It’s the subject of rather funny moments, especially in the possession of a young one.

Physical Description:Cyrus can be summed up as tall, strong and handsome.  He has blonde hair and blue eyes and typically keeps himself clean shaven, but not always.  Though that is typically due to negligence on his part.  He stands at 6’3” and has a muscular build although not nearly as much as it would be if he worked out every single day.  Which he doesn’t.

However, he has very good habits to maintain his appearance.  If only because it makes him feel good and it always helps that it allows him a lot more freedom and power in his job. Not to mention good when he is going undercover and needs to be appealing to his target.

Typically he is seen in blue jeans and a button up shirt of some kind.  Though he changes his clothing from time to time, it rarely changes too drastically from his usual.

Personality Description: At first glance, Cyrus seems shallow and a bit simple minded. However this is far from the actual truth. He is a very introverted individual, although he can be quite talkative and immensely sarcastic even in the most drastic of situations. However, when he needs to, he is capable of being rather serious. And also is quite wise despite his age.  This is more because of his family line, and in particular his Father.  His Father has imparted quite a bit of knowledge to him.

He is a very adventurous individual and can’t stand being tied to any one place. So he finds himself doing a lot of physical activities to occupy his mind. And always keeps himself going.

His mind is sharp and is accustomed to tense situations, especially when it comes to fighting, perhaps due to the training he’s had.  He is technically from the generation that trained when the war ended, but that doesn’t show in his skill or talent for the trade.

His priority is always to his wife before anything else in his life.  Perhaps could be due to the fact that she was his childhood friend but there has always been something that pulls him to her.  And in her present state his job slowly taking a back seat.

Overall he is a fun guy to be around, but there is far more to the man than he lets on, and only those that spend time with him realize that there is a great pain in his heart, and a very large wall that surrounds him to protect it. 


History:
Cyrus is the son of Talon and Bianca Vandalier.  And was born in London, UK in July of 1981.  The story of his parents is a long one indeed.  Which would most likely take entirely too long to describe.  However, his parents come from two different esteemed pure bloodlines, that for the most part are located in other locations around the world.  More notably, Talon is from a long Egyptian line and is sometimes referred to as a Mystic.  As was a title that had been given to the Vandalier family line at one point.

For some reason, his parents settled in at a muggle apartment complex known as Forrester Terrace Apartments.  Of course, the young Cyrus wouldn’t find it strange until he was a bit older.  The young Cyrus instead was always with a girl name Aureliane D’abugine.  At the time he couldn’t really talk much, but over the next six years in their early life, they could not be separated.  Although he didn’t understand as he was so young but this girl would always be important to him.

However things didn’t stay great between them.  Aure’s parents divorced and after some time her Father won custody.  So before Cyrus was even capable of understanding what was going on.  Aure was gone.  For some reason it made the young Cyrus angry.  So when he saw her again the next summer he was angry for her leaving, clearly not understanding that she had no choice on her part.  And it only made him angry when his Father told him that he would understand in time.

Despite that, they were still good friends, but obviously the misunderstanding was starting to put a bit of a wedge between them.  And that distance as the years went by.  Things went really far as Cyrus spent most of his time with his guy friends over Aure.  Part of him still somewhat resentful as Aure was turning more and more away from her tom boy like nature, and the constant having to say good bye to her at the end of every summer.

In the meantime his parents had been educating him about the wizarding world.  It was also around this time where he finally figured out that Aure wouldn’t be apart of his world.  Soon he would never really see her again.  Once he turned eleven he would be heading off to Hogwarts.  And yeah he might still see her in the summer, but there would be a whole part of his life he could never show her.

An incident happened, however, that showed Cyrus something different.  He was being a jerk towards her after coming to a decision that it would be just easier to be mean to her than have to say goodbye.  But when she got mad she had accidentally done magic dumping a bucket of red pain on his head.   His response wasn’t anger.  He was overcome by immense happiness.  He let a huge grin come over his face looking at her and proclaimed right out, “You’re a witch!”

And before long the two were back to being best friends.  Though they still had the occasional argument.  In particular when Aure would try to convince him that he should go to Beauxbatons than Hogwarts.  But he merely deflected that off saying that his Father wanted him to go to Hogwarts and that they would still see each other in the summers.

Things seemed to be going well when he went to school.  And things seemed to be rather exciting as Harry Potter was also attending school there.  But Cyrus was a Hufflepuff, and only saw Harry on the rare occasion that he had the same class as him.  Despite the things that happened at the school, he was a much more quiet and reserved kid at school.  Focusing on his studies.

During his 2nd year is when he started learning about Auror’s and what they do.  He became interested in it.  Simply because he could be fighting the “forces of evil”.  So when he told his parents that summer after his 2nd year, his parents weren’t surprised at all.  They merely smiled at him and told him to do his best. 

In his fourth year, right before the school year started, his parents began to take care of the young girl Ciarra.  The girl’s mother had been killed in a apparent Death Eater attack.  However, the two became quick friends, despite their age difference.

Things seemed to be more grim after that, with rumors of the supposed resurrection of Lord Voldemort.  And Cyrus instead focused on his studies, more and more as the time went by, hoping that things would resolve itself if he kept busy.  But more importantly so that he would be ready in case he would ever have to do anything.

The years went and things became worse as Lord Voldemort indeed had returned.  But after his sixth year, that summer was one he would never forget.  His time was no longer spent with the guys he had grown up with but spent it all with young Ciarra and Aureliane.  It was so obvious how much Aureliane had grown, and all the years of seeing her had somehow changed.  But he had never really considered a relationship in a romantic way with anyone.  But somehow…it seemed right with Aureliane. 

But he wasn’t exactly sure how to approach it…so the flirting continued with her but no real progress happened.  Not until the two of them kissed on the roof of the apartment while watching the sun set.  From that day the summer was a swirl of romance and puppy love.  But the end of the summer came and they both decided to end it, and just be friends.  Despite the fact that it had left Cyrus with a bad taste in his mouth.

His final year was hell.  It was obvious that Voldemort had his influence everywhere.  Especially with a man like Severus Snape as the Headmaster of the school.  Though it turned out that it was a good thing that the man had been.  Still Cyrus managed to muscle his way through thanks to all the studying he had been doing.  He finished school still managing in nearly all his courses.  He got an Outstanding in everything except Potions and History of Magic, though it was still Exceeds Expectations.   The Battle had been hell as well.  And it was certainly filled with images he would never forget.  But Cyrus being of age, helped in the fight, even if he wasn’t as well trained, he still proved to be another helping hand in the battle.

With his grades and showing that he could handle himself in a fight he became an Auror, just like he had always wanted to since he was young.  He went through training and was soon a full fledged Auror.  Some time later, they caught a criminal that was wanted for a crime in the French Ministry.  So it wasn’t long before one of their lawyers showed up.  Cyrus was floored when he realized who it was.  He greeted Aureliane with a big smile.  The two caught up and soon after found they would be working together on the case.

Six months the two worked on the case, as well as their relationship.  Cyrus knew that he couldn’t just sit back and wait for Aureliane to make the first move again.  So on a whim he asked her out to go dancing.  Before long the two started dating, and this time when she had to go back to France, they didn’t end the relationship.

The time after that, was a bit of a challenge.  But not nearly as hard with wizarding means of transportation.  But not long Cyrus was sent to France to help their Auror department on a case.  It was during this time that the relationship between Cyrus and Aure became serious.  After planning for the longest time.  Cyrus planned a day off for both of them and took her to Paris. 

The day was filled with exploration and even some dancing under the Eiffel Tower.    Music softly playing and dancing under the evening stars, Cyrus went on his knee and asked her to marry him.  Well that was his intention, but Aureliane had already embraced him and kissing him. 

They married in Turkey, mostly because they both loved adventure and enjoyed going to new places.  The two continued to live in France after that as Cyrus was still under assignment in the French Ministry.  It wasn’t until two and a half years later that Cyrus was called back to England.  Aureliane decided she would follow and got accepted as a Lawyer in the British Ministry.

Aure was forced to go to England early, leaving Cyrus to finish the move to their new two bedroom home in wizarding London.  He arrived in London, but he came to some startling news.  Aureliane was missing. 

Some time has passed…and now he knows that he has to pick up the trail and find his wife.

Cyrus finished Hogwarts with Outstandings on all subjects except for Potions and History of Magic.  Not only that but he was also lending a hand during the Battle at Hogwarts.  So when he wanted to be an Auror there was little debate on if he could handle the job.

His is specifically good at undercover operations, as well as capturing and retrieval.  Lately he has been learning martial arts from Ciarra Belisario as a bit of a side activity.

Cyrus however, is not as effective with his paperwork as some would want him to be, and he often doesn't prepare well enough for his assignments and that often leads to troublesome situations.  And that often means having to use force in situations he should have avoided to begin with.

Cyrus found himself looking at the desk for a long moment.  It was the one that his wife was assigned when she got her job.  In order to find her, he would have to retrace her steps.  And that meant from the beginning.  From when she left France, and to the time she went missing.  He noticed the picture of him and Aure sitting on the desk and it made him smile.

“Who would have thought that the two of you would have gotten married,” came a familiar voice.

“Here to help me Ciarra?” Cyrus smiled looking back at her.

“I am an Auror-in-training.  And if I remember correctly you can train.  And I’m sure this case could be considered good working experience,” Ciarra gave him a wink.  But her tone changed after a moment.  “She’s my friend you know.  I’m not just going to forget about her.”

“I know, Ciarra,” Cyrus sighed and looked back at the desk.  “She was following up on a potential witness when she went missing.  I finally got my hands on the report.  Thanks to your Father.”

“Then why are we still here?” Ciarra asked simply.

“I was hoping to find any hints of that here.  But knowing Aure, she left as soon as she heard it.  I mean that’s why she was here first to begin with.  If I had known I…”  Cyrus shook his head.  He knew that it was a stupid line of thinking.  He didn’t have time for regrets.  He had to find his wife.  “Alright, lets get off Ministry property and apparate to our location.  Be ready, who knows what she might have found there.”

“She’ll be fine, Cyrus.  That’s how it feels to me,” Ciarra said softly.

“Oh I know.  And with my luck she is going to wonder what the hell took me so long,” Cryus laughed.  I’m on my way, Aure.  “Let’s go.”

Cyrus is sarcastic, can be sardonic at times, but overall good humored.  He is one hell of a fighter and has a lot of wisdom, even if most of it is taken straight from his Father.  He’s adventurous and always up to trying new things.
