"What are you talking about Alice?" Lexi asked. "You are one of the sweetest, most caring people and the world. And you'll only have no one to turn to when hell freezes over. Because frankly, I'm always going to be there for you." Lexi said with confidence. She aided Annette in soothing their friend as much as they could.

"Alice that's not true and you know it!" Annette hugged Alice tighter while Lexi flipped through the notebook. "You have me and Lexi, and your brother said he'd write to you. Your not pathetic, and if I'm not a pathetic first year, I don't know what is." Annette released Alice, but kept hold of her hands. Alice looked at her, her glasses were foggy and her eyes were puffy, streams poured down her cheeks. "Alice... You and Lexi are my best friends in this entire planet and nothing that happens is gonna change that."

 Annette pulled a hankercheif out of her satchel and wiped Alice's cheeks with it, "Here, Blow" Alice honked loudly. "Now what happened?"

Dessa looked on, concerned, unsure of exactly how to respond. Normally she'd be reacting much like Lexi and Annette, but she'd only just met Alice, and she wasn't sure how the girl would feel about her suddenly jumping in. Finally, Dessa's instincts won over her reservations, and she moved to crouch beside the other three girls.
"Hey," she said softly, "It's okay. We're all here for you."
