Physical Description:

Jay is an average-height of 5'8'', weighing at a slim and fit 153 lbs.  He's naturally tan-skinned with dark hair and dark eyes, with facial features highlighting his East-Indian, Cook Islander (Maori) and New Zealand heritage.  His dark brown hair frays over his forehead and a little over the tips of his ears, giving him a rugged yet clean-cut look.

He wears casual yet fashionable clothing often compared to America's 1950's-1960's men's style.  Button-up dress shirts with stripes or bold solid colors are essential with or without dress-vests, as well as neutral dressy slacks/jeans and black casual dress-shoes.

Personality Description:

Leader, Protector, Intelligent, Loyal, Strong--those are just a few words that describe Jay Balimmora.  Born and raised by a loving father, Jay developed a certain presence that made him popular by his peers.  Whether it's his confident crooked smile or his motivational words, he has a natural allure and inspiration.  Ever since he was a kid, Jay has been a real go-getter and strove to test his limits in everything from sports to friendship to schoolwork.  Always rooting for the underdog, it's normal for him to stand up for the little guy by any means necessary due to his strong moral compass.

He's a genuine and motivated person, but through no fault of his own, can be a little extreme regarding others intentions.  Demanding absolute loyalty in his friends, one can expect the same loyalty and dedication tenfold.  Logically driven, he doesn't let emotion run his decisions, since Durmstrang shaped him to be so.  He doesn't believe in subtlety and is a bit brutally honest.  He doesn't understand people's unhappiness and can get quite annoyingly preachy.

He lives in a world of facts and concrete needs.  He lives in the present, with his eye constantly scanning personal environments to make sure that everything is running smoothly and systematically.  Honoring traditions and laws, Jay has a clear set of standards and beliefs.  He believes in forming decisions based on experience rather than ideas and fantasy, keeping his feet firmly on the ground.  He doesn't find the value in having one's head in the clouds and detests emotional drama; finding it unnecessary and a waste.  His particular set of traits makes him idealistic for such careers as a Manager, Marketer, Lecturer, Military Leader and Detective.
History:

Jay was born in Rarotonga of the Cook Islands to his muggle mother, Anjali Balimmora and wizard father, Kaihautu Balimmora.  Tragedy struck the Balimmora household when Anjali left without a word on Christmas day of the year 1991.  She was never heard from again, and Kaihautu had to raise Jay by himself.  Since Jay was just almost two years old, he never remembered his mother and therefore didn't develop abandonment issues like most in adolescence (consciously, anyway).  Kaihautu, a native to the Cook Islands, decided to move the two further north once Jay showed signs of magic at age five.  Ending up in the UK, where Kaihautu planned on putting Jay through a wizarding school when old enough.  He also wanted to move there because his brother, Teo, lived there and he wanted Jay to have more of a family, and since Jay's mother was a UK citizen, he was as well.

Jay was raised to be a strong and bright leader.  When of age he entered Durmstrang's Zufrieden strata in the year of 2002, studying Spellworks.  He was an average student up until third year, when he started taking his education more seriously in order to become an Auror one day.  Due to his consistent high marks he was voted to enter the Oberteil strata, where he added Intangible studies into the mix.  Through his schooling he made many friends and casually participated in Dueling and Quidditch.  His two best friends since childhood,  Andrei (Drei) and Luca are also wizards who, although in a different strata at Durmstrang, studying different disciplines, are nearly inseparable.

Being close to his father, it was only natural Jay built a good relationship with his uncle Teo, aunt Polly and younger cousins Aoatea (Tea-13), Aramoana (Moana-11) and Atawhai (Atty-9) once they moved in.  Like Jay, his cousins are also fated to go to Durmstrang; Tea going into her second year at Durmstrang and Ara starting in the fall as a first year.  Being the oldest, he naturally took up the role of the responsible one, keeping his little cousins in line and keeping them out of trouble.  Also, being the protective boy he is, it's nearly impossible for his cousins to get into trouble, whether or not they want his help.

In London of 1992, Anjali gave birth to Kaihautu's baby; Jaydev's sister: Waverly Roh-Ballentyne, unbeknownst to everyone, and disappeared again.  Jay and Kaihautu have no idea.  Currently he's aspiring to go into any form of leadership, preferably in magical law enforcement (which he will pursue in London, having studied the great opportunities awaiting him).  He speaks English, Maori, Russian and New Zealand Sign Language.

Why have you chosen to change careers?:

He can't live off nothing and he wants to start his life.  Being an Auror is all he's ever wanted.  It's why he moved to London in the first place.

None, really, since he'd be a Trainee.  But, in Durmstrang he received the required high marks in classes to qualify.

Auror Trainees are supposed to be trained in the ways of Auror-ness.  This means shadowing a senior Auror: going with them on cases, experiencing what it's like and preparing for the real stuff.
