Maker, he just wasn't feeling well today at all, but refused to allow that to take over. He didn't want this to end like the last class he didn't feel well did, and tried his best to soldier through it.

"I um…actually have a surprise for you all," He said now that the class was beginning, and came to perch against his desk, "I wanted to make up to you my behavior lately. So let me first say that I'm formally apologizing for it now. This hasn't been easy on me, and I know it hasn't been easy on you. I've let my guard down on many things and let my emotions rule over logic. So I'm sorry…and maybe you've noticed over the last few weeks I've been trying. I see you all working so much harder and learning and I think that you deserve a little break." With that he took a deep breath and continued,

"We are going to take a trip into town. No rope this time," he gave a little nervous smirk at that, "We are going to go see a shop that I really think you will enjoy, and…" Gale paused a moment knowing that this was going to be the hardest part of the day, but dang it he just had to do it.

"I would like to think that I can trust you to an hour of free time in Hogsmeade. I have here envelopes with your names on it with a bit of money to get something to eat," He picked up the box, "And I only ask that you partner up so that when that hour is up you can help me keep track of attendance. You don't have to stay with your partner, but I would appreciate it if would just keep tabs on them throughout the day, and when we meet before the final return that you make sure they are there. So please select one in your class and if you would like to leave your books here I'll lock the doors."

Figaro wasn't about to second guess the ever-changing moods of Professor Kesali and question this unexpected reprieve from drills and books.  He was immediately on his feet causing his chair to slide back noisily.

"Oi! Bevans!" Not entertaining any kind of vetting process, Figaro chose his partner with his gut.  It didn't diminish the kinship he felt for his other mates, but Bevans won the day if Bevans was so inclined to accept.

Once partners were settled, Figaro was among the first to the door.  As he passed by and took an envelope of money and shrugged at the professor.

"Always keep'm guessing, am I right?"

"No, nothing... It's all very mysterious" she replied, her eyes growing big, and fingers doing a creepy crawly sort of thing, ending with a little grin. "And I adore your beret" she offered with a little blush. Any self-respecting girl should own at least three berets. And if no one knew better, they could say she and Ji-Hyun were getting their clothes from the same place. "Well, the weather forecast indicated rain for the central and southeastern parts of the UK... So my guess is, wherever we're going – it's around there" she said with a little smile.

The appearance of Gracie Slant, had Rosie's lips form a little o of surprise only to be quickly turned into a fond, enthusiastic expression. Rosie would never have the courage to dye her hair, even temporarily... Here mother would cut her entire hair, if something ever happened to it. But that didn't mean she could not appreciate the gutsy, colorful experiments of some of her more creative colleagues. "That is absolutely amazing" she said half in awe, gaze directed towards the Syltherin's hair. "By the indication of rain, our guess is the south-eastern coast or central UK... I think London, would make the most sense. There's rain and heavy rains prognosis for the rest of the week."

When their professor announced that they'd have to sit with a housemate, Rosie turned a sad, apologetic face towards Ji-Hyun and gave her a very short, but tight hug. "We'll just have to regroup on site" she smiled warmly, waving at Gracie before she sauntered off in search of her cousin. Alex was just in the middle of offering an explanation... something to do with Theo, but it was enough for Rosie to catch the words engaged and marriage, confused, sort of bewildered expression on her face, just as she noticed Phillip Kinsey walking in at the last moment, stopping right behind Alexandra. She thought it might the first time she'd seen him in class since the Defense incident and what a moment to make a comeback...

"Uhmm... Hey, Alex. Err – hi, Phillip" she said in a tiny voice, eyes turning downcast, and awkwardly playing with a strand of hair. "Would you want to, uhmm, partner with me?" She said to her cousin, eyes still not finding the courage to look at either Alex or Phillip, whose face was, probably for the first time, in seven years, completely unreadable.

"Yo Bevans! Mate, I believe t'is our duty to preserve the Gryffindor values together" Phillip said, with a bright grin, apparently completely ignoring the situation and moving towards his housemate. Well... She smiled awkwardly at her cousin and shrugged her shoulders slowly.

There was barely any communication between the two of them, a slight brush of her arm against his that told him Cadance would be off with her betrothed during the excursion. He didn't let any disappointment show but it suddenly left him partner-less. He couldn't blame her, after all she was going to be spending the rest of her life with him, why not get a head start.

He looked up at the Professor narrowing his eyes. He was just starting to have some real respect for the man and he had to go and ruin it all by apologizing. At least they were getting out of the castle, and at least after all was said and done they'd have an hour just to do as they pleased with School (possibly Kesali) provided money. He supposed he shouldn't look down on the Professor too much, the students still had plenty of time to make a mess of things and in Hogsmeade no less!

Xavier stood and stretched his back out, pulling his hood up and casting shadows on his stubbled face. He cast his gaze around the gathered Slytherins wondering if any of them would be willing to join up with him (or take responsibility for him) he didn't feel like he had many allies these days.

Peyton looked at Alex with a bewildered expression. His mouth bobbed opened and closed for a for moments before silently mouthing the words 'engaged' and 'marriage'. Was he that far out of the loop that he hadn't heard that Alex had gotten engaged?! It was a bit of a shame that it was to someone like Whitman but it could have been worse, (she could have fallen for his brother) They should be celebrating, there was bound to be a few parties in their honour and of course the wedding itself. Peyton suddenly found his head racing, he would need to try and get some sort of fashion sense - or at least let someone else dress him - by the time the ceremony rolled around.

He was slightly distracted by the Professor's apology and the subsequent information about envelopes of money and a free lunch hour to do as they pleased. Peyton was soon determined to use that window of opportunity to buy Alex and Theo a present. He had to make up for being such a bad friend somehow, didn't he?

He glanced around at the paired up students, checking the other Ravenclaws to see if he could snag himself a partner, "Anyone wanna go shopping with me when we get our free time?" That was sure to get him a mate and hopefully the idea of shopping would appeal to some of the finer Ravenclaw who he could pump for information about this engagement and what he should be getting the bride-to-be.
