How to Use the Wiki
The Absit Omen Leixcon is our collaborative wiki where we collect all the plots, characters, spells, lore, and everything else that makes up our world. Wikis work best when everyone feels empowered to contribute, and everything is linked together. Any change or deletion can always be rolled back. Our goal is that everything we add to the wiki all fit together with both AO and HP canon, so Absit Omen members can contact a Curator for a wiki account. Wiki formatting is different than on the forums. Consult the help section for mediawiki formatting. Guidelines What goes in the wiki: plot summaries, npcs, family trees, spells, locations, book titles, magical artifacts, animals, healing techniques, school club rosters - anything that might be helpful to reference later. What doesn’t go in the wiki: Harry Potter information already well-documented elsewhere, or general knowledge. But feel free to link to those other sources or use exceprts when it makes sense. When to check first: Impactful past events, powerful magic or objects, new kinds of magic, or changes in magical government can have wide-ranging consequences for the AO universe. So, please consult a Curator or create a Plot Development thread before adding big stuff to the wiki. Contribute everywhere: Anyone can edit any page. Feel free to fill in missing information, add your npcs, and generally expand the world. The best wiki pages are those that tie in with something that’s been played out in a thread. Keep it real: Use your best judgement so that whatever changes or additions you make agree with existing HP and AO canon. |
