Absit Omen RPG

Demitria Strelnikov disappeared from Hogwarts a few days after the Quidditch game that revealed the true extent of her Veela Charm to the school. It was said, but never confirmed, that she was being kept in a private suite in St. Mungos, and was under scrutiny by her family, school officials, and other interested parties. There was a question of whether she, as a half-breed, should be let back into school seeing as her Charm endangered the students around her.

There was another, less credible, rumor going around that she had been arrested by the Ministry for endangering lives and her criminal relatives had broken her out, and smuggled her to Kiev.

Her return to Hogwarts on the 28th dispelled most of the latter rumor. Most. However, there was no official statement given for why Demitria was taken out of school.

So I think I'm definitely going to go with the fact that Strellie was taken out of school and was in St. Mungos from January 20th (4 days after the disastrous quidditch game) to right after the beginning of this current timeline. So, let's say Sunday the 28th. That's just over a month IC.
Anyone can feel free to have really negative reactions to her coming back. In fact, that's probably expected. She's hardly "little miss sunshine/I can get along with everyone" like she was when I first made her. People who don't know her well probably think she's a crazy... witch... and some of her friends are free to feel really confused or maybe even betrayed.  So, I'm welcoming a host of reactions even from good friends that she had a positive rep with until she left.

Amara-

It might be interesting to continue interactions between Mara and Strellie even though Strellie is busy paddling back from the deep end, while Mara is diving in headfirst. Including them finding out they are cousins. *DUH DUH DUUUUUUH* I have no issues with Bran trying to help Strellie out when she comes back if you feel that's something he'd do. I think Strellie would be feeling extraordinarily alienated by the entire ordeal, so someone who wouldn't tiptoe around her like she's  bat shit insane would be helpful. Not really sure if I can think of anything for Rosamund at the moment. PM me and we can decide if we want to do a Bran or a Mara thread first <3 LOVE YOU

Yes and yes! This Raine/Strellie thing that we started ages ago has to come to fruition at some point. I'm not really sure what to do about it, but something  must be done.

Grace and Strellie sounds like a very good thing. I don't think Grace would care less that Strellie was in a mental hospital as long as she's still good at Quidditch and up for a party I'm not so sure about the second, but the first is a definite. I'll make sure to let Sarah know I'm back in business. Also, feel free to let me know about any of your "dust-collected student plots" that you think Strellie would add to! As for Esther: I'm not sure what we can do there, yet, but I'd like to get some action in with the younger years as well. PM me!

AMBER<3 I've missed you so much that I felt like I needed to repeat your name twice! Strellie and Xavier MOST DEFINITELY need to do a thing. With Bella back in the picture and her being gone for a month, I can see her being more willing to talk to Xavier than she was before. Whether Xav listens or not... weeeeelll... that we shall see I love our two bbs together even though they can't seem to have an easy time of anything, can they? As for Cadance, I think they could have been friends previously, but the vibe I get from her is that she would see Strellie's stint in Mungos as a red mark on her ledger. We could see what comes from that Ideas are very welcome for the two of them. Feel free to PM about what we should do next!

Well, nothing ever came of the RoR plot and I'm simply assuming that neither of them got caught. So, I don't think much else is going to come of that there, but I would love to do a thread with Ignan if you wanted to. I think the Professor would probably have plenty of advice to give to his young Niece if she came and asked.

So, I miss you all and love you all and am finally going to try and come back for good. Really. Really really. It's going to be slow going, but I'm going to take only a few things at a time at first so I can ease myself back into AO without panicking and disappearing again. I seem to keep doing that. But not this time!!

So to start off, I'm just bringing back my beautiful, wonderful Demitria Strelnikov. I really, honestly don't know how I have gone almost 6 months without writing <3 I'd love to stick to already established relationships to start off so I can start to make her better. My poor baby has been crazy long enough, I think! (I'm looking at you: Amber, Amara, Sly, and the rest of you trouble makers <3) However, if you're new or the rest of you have new characters, I am ALWAYS open for new plotting ideas. I'm just trying to keep it simple for right now, so if I turn you down: I SWEAR I STILL LOVE YOU. Speaking of love:
 

*EDIT* I also wanted to add that I've been considering having Strellie returning, or having been in, St. Mungos for at least a few weeks of the elapsed time from the Jan. 15th Quidditch game to now. I think it would add an interesting dynamic to me coming back. Also, I have no problems with other characters having all sorts of negative reactions to her, ranging from: "oh my god, look, Crazy is back" to just being terrified of her and her veela charm.   

Raine and Demtiria totally have unfinished business. Not sure exactly what that is, but I'm sure their awkward "I-think-our-Russian-relatives-are-plotting-the-downfall-of-England" allegiance has gone somewhere in the past months.

Ummm.... so the real question is how many of your characters do I absolutely adore and we've planned to thread with before I decided to fall off the face of the earth.

Oh, that's right, all of them.

But anyway, I don't know if Taras would know her, but if he did, he'd adore her. Well, as much as my darling sociopath adores anything, that is.  I know it's totally weird, but I keep getting this image in my head of Taras petting a kitty!Ezia as the cat glares at him but doesn't really object. And if they ever had a reason to meet at all, I feel like that would sum up their relationship. Really, really strange friends. That don't really match. But argue about intellectual things. And yah.

Demitria doesn't like potions. And has probably gotten detention at least once for giving her professor the stank-eye. But she adores plants and herbology and is really, really good at it too. So she might cause Ezia to be like: Why?? Why is this brilliant veela wasting away her talent?  And then give her another detention because, honestly, she can.

And then Demitria would probably still like her as a professor anyway, at least secretly.

Ooh Ooh! So, I have Taras Strelnikov, Demitria's sociopath father who will very gladly take Wyatt under his wing. He is in need of a protegee to teach his questionable ways. He's a criminal that, though handsome, influential, and veela, prefers to stay under the radar.  He is also exceptionally wealthy and would have no problems letting either Wyatt or his sister stay in his house (read: mini-manor).

2nd of all: I could see Demitria interacting with Dallas at some point. Even though she's not taking NEWT level COMC, she might seek him out to see what he can tell her about werewolves. ((She was infected at the beginning of the school year and though she doesn't transform and is thus- not registered- she still has some symptoms)) Plus, she could ask what he knows about veelas since she needs an opinion of someone who is not veela and partially- if not totally- a sociopath.

3rd- I am SO EXCITED to create twins with you     

Darling, you know my princess inside and out. If there is anything that your princess needs, feel free to have her bother  Strellie.

And I don't know- this may just be the fact that I'm up too late plotting in my head- but talk to Erika! If Cadance is betrothed but doesn't really care about it too much, she may try to convince the real traditionalists, like Fyetka who has been betrothed to Alyia Grumman since pretty much birth, to have a little fun. I know Fyetka wouldn't take to well to it, but maybe could cause some tension if she's talked to Aliya??

Demitria felt Xavier slide across the bed to sit behind her. As he wrapped his arms around her, she leaned into him and took a deep breath. It was crazy, but Xavier Tawse was her anchor. If she closed her eyes and focused on the warmth of his body and the smell of cigarette smoke that was him, she could pretend like she never had to leave the Room of Requirement again. There was no other place where she didn't feel like she was being torn in half.

The Russian knew that it wasn't easy for the dark Slytherin to show affection for anything, even her. Children like them weren't raised to love. But they had to at least try. It was because of that that she tilted her face toward Xavier's and spoke quietly. "I saw Taras over Christmas."

It was an understatement for sure. She had seen her father no less than eight times over the two week break- the main reason she hadn't been able to see Xavier. Demitria didn't know why, but she felt like she needed to. She needed to see him to prove to herself that she wasn't turning into something abominable. After her babushka refused to train her further, Strellie needed to go to someone else that knew how to manipulate charm and unfortunately, that meant Taras.

"I had no other choice, Xav. I-I... I'm... разорванный... torn. My charm is too strong to leave wild. I couldn't ask Amara to after her baby sister died. Nika, my babushka, won't even see me after the werewolf attack. There was only him and..."

She drew in on herself and tried to curl up even closer to Xavier, "Я хочу быть собой.[1]. I want to be Strellie. He's twisting me, Xav. I don't want to be him."

1.	I want to be me

So, Strellie would probably get along with him. Nothing really seems to be any sort of problem since she adores both Livi and Neely.  There could be a small, and pretty unserious (I realize that's not a word, but my brain functions are dying atm) bone of contention because everybody knows that Mimi is the best piano player in the history of Hogwarts and he could want her in the orchestra.

And she's probably told him a thousand times to shove it. But in a nice way. Because she likes him, but really...when I'm the last pianist on earth, Blackwell.   

I'm still in for whatever goes down! There's lots of information here, so my mind is kind of exploding at the moment, but I'm sure things will be cleared up quickly. When they are, just let me know what's up. Whatever happens, I love the idea of having a huge played family.

Also, Jager and anyone else that wants to be part of a large, definitely dark family, just PM me (so not to clog up this thread)! The Strelnikovs have plenty of NPC's, many of them that have plenty of  room to mold into something that is yours. 

If y'all are still up for it, I'd love to play another adopted/and or twin character! I was thinking that perhaps Liv and I could have twin 4th years and they were adopted together? Just an idea!

Count Strellie, and probably Fyetka if foreign students are allowed, in! I know that Vadir would at least know of the Strelnikov children since he is intimately connected with the family. Maybe he had even met them when they were very little ((all of our lovelies in baddie day-care together while their parents were off defeating good)). If he knows they are at Hogwarts, I cannot imagine him passing them over.

Strellie can also see thestrals: another reason she may be included in the trip beyond ancient family bonds.

Demitria had been worried about this game the moment it was announced Kitty would not be playing. How stupid of a decision was that? He couldn't just break up their duo to put in Casey! To repeat: Casey. Casey O'Doherty over Kitty Li. What in Merlin's name had he been thinking? He wasn't half the player the rest of them were, and hell, even though she wasn't very used to playing with Warren, she could deal with it. But no. Playing with Casey was already enough to make her blood boil.

She was even confused about why Erin had chosen her of the duo. Of course, it wasn't well known that she was smack-dab in the middle of a mental breakdown, but was she really the better player? Kitty maybe didn't have the same amount of skill (she didn't have two obsessed brothers after all), but she had twice the amount of vicious that Strellie did. Still, Kitty hadn't been chosen... Maybe Harper didn't want seriously injured and/or maimed Gryffindors? It didn't matter, because Strellie had enough pent-up negative energy that she wasn't above smacking someone in the face with a bludger. And she didn't even play Beater.

Now, they were in the middle of the game and everything was going wrong.

Gracie was managing to keep the bludgers off of them, but just as she had expected, Casey had no ability whatsoever to hold on to the quaffle. And he dropped it. Again. And what was even worse luck? It hadn't come in either her or Warren's directions for practically the entirety of the game! Every time she had been near to getting it, she had either had to duck a bludger or someone would slam into her knocking her off balance. Someone who weighed 87 pounds couldn't be expected to be smashed into and keep a straight course! She was doing a damn good job for how much hell Harper was putting her through.

Casey had collided with Slant and lost the quaffle?? No! That idiot! How? How had that even happened? And he hadn't even considered, maybe, just maybe using his other teammates to avoid the inevitable collision. What a pompous, self centered, stupid-

Before she knew what was happening, Demitria felt a cool calm settling over herself[1]. Everything around her seemed to glow with an internal light. Of course she knew what was happening, but she really couldn't bring herself to care. If all of the brainless humans around her were too imbecilic to think for themselves, she would think for them. It was easier that way anyway. Strellie knew she didn't have much time with her charm at the sheer intensity that it was at... She must have been really angry. It wasn't a problem now, of course. She knew that if she could make her older brother, practically a father figure to her, light their grandmother's house on fire, there would be little resistance from these hormone-driven messes.

"Casey, get the quaffle. I don't care how you get it. Just do it and get it through the hoops" She spoke quiet enough that no one in normal circumstances could have heard her, but she didn't speak to Casey's ears. She spoke to the little light that she could use to compel him. Strange, it was surprisingly dim compared to the other males on the field. Oh well, it didn't matter, he still showed up, and she would control him for all it was worth.

"The rest of you, get the hell out of his way. And Harper, find the damn snitch now." She spoke again. The others males were much easier than Casey to get to stop and the females, well, they weren't going to jump to her bidding, but they would at least have migraines and disorientation from the force of her charm bursting out of her. Silly humans, so weak. It was a shame that she had just enough human blood to knock her out sooner rather than later. 

Demitria sighed slightly and felt her vision begin to waver. Such a shame. The outcome of the match would have been so promising if she had just used less Charm. Human emotions were so volatile. She'd have to talk to Amara about appropriate techniques for not emitting full Compulsion when angry.

Tactless, useless human emotions.

I can offer up Taras Strelnikov to be a long time associate of Burke. He was most active in the time period around the 2nd war (during, before, and after) as the top man in multiple smuggling/black-market good rings. He didn't really break into England, but he was moving things out of Africa through both South Africa and Egypt, so he was probably had a few runespoor coming through.
