Messages - Dolly St. James

Dolly's face softened a bit, as he indicated his drunken pants ruining was part of the reason he'd put a stop on the drinking. She could understand really, after she'd ended up in the hospital the previous March she'd quit too for a good long while. Of course now she was back to doing all things in moderation. She didn't bring this fact up of course, simply set about fixing his tea. She could be rather domestic when she wanted to be - she just didn't want to often or ever lest someone get ideas about making a wife out of her. Dolly was not meant for the Wife-y life, which was a thought she kept coming back to again and again lately.

When he actually apologized Dolly was caught rather off guard. The never ending chatter ceased and she simply started at him. Well that was new. Cameron Rosier did not apologize, for anything, ever. It's how he'd managed to chalk up all those ex-wives. she was not quite sure how to process this action as it seemed very sincere. She picked up and set down the kettle twice, her mouth opening and closing like a fish on the riverbank trying to catch it's breath. He'd stopped her witty banter up short and now she wasn't exactly sure what to do with him. She begrudgingly felt her fondness for him grow ever so slightly, a thaw coming to the frosty part of her heart.

When the tea was finally ready she packed it to him, curling up on the sofa next to him as she slipped off her shoes and seemed set to settle in for the night; Falco already forgotten. "I'd demand you tell me what you got up to in the wilds of Africa, but I have a feeling I'd rather not know and it's probably classified," she leaned against him a little, bracing her arm against his shoulder, resting her chin in her hand. Maybe if she looked at him long enough she'd get some sense of who this new person was, sitting in her living room. He looked like Cam, he sounded like him, and even had that signature Cam-smell (sans the alcohol), but she didn't feel as though she knew him the way she'd known her Cam (not that he'd ever been hers, but the version of him she'd had before), "I suppose you could start by listening all the millions of ways you've missed me",

If Dolly had ever been in love with Cam this all would have been so much worse. It was a strange paradox really, that somehow it was easier to forgive someone for leaving her when her heart hadn't been so invested; yet when she truly loved with all of herself she'd punish the neglectful party  to the end of time (or until she realized she was too tired to be angry anymore and just let it all go). She hadn't been in love with Cam though, she had cared about him a good deal and she was slightly miffed he left without so much as a goodbye... but a part of her also understood the need to get away. He had been dealt a fairly crushing blow when Brown had taken over his job with the DMLE. He'd probably needed to lick his wounds, that didn't explain why he couldn't send a bloody owl to a girl but there was no point in fighting about it. What was done was done.

She did give him a quizzical look at the request for tea, "Don't tell me you're living the sober life now Cam. One of your few redeeming qualities was that never ending supply of well aged Scotch," she was teasing of course, blue eyes curious as she scanned his face before leading him toward the kitchen. "Your favorite trousers were wrecked before you ever left the country. I realize you're ancient, but don't you remember? Drunk Cam in addition to a finely crafter cigar, and three days of little sleep - almost burnt down my apartment when you dozed off in a particularly expensive armchair. You're quite lucky I am so brilliant with my wand and a fast thinker," she fluttered her eyelashes at him as she filled the kettle with water before using the tip of her wand to slowly heat it.

She was ignoring his dig about Falco, mostly to frustrate him but also because there wasn't much to tell. He wasn't a serious thing. Of course Cameron hadn't started out as a serious thing either, and that had ended... well differently. Turning to look at him, her hip resting against the kitchen counter, slender eyebrow arched, her words were very careful, "I know how rubbish you are at I'm sorry's but I see no gifts, no peace offerings of pretty exotic jewels, or spices. There is no giant teddy bear proclaiming your undying love to me. This is very strange, unless it means the wide and great Rosier is actually going to say those two little magic words he seems to choke on the thought of," she slipped easily back into teasing him, though he was by no means fully forgiven she wasn't about to hex him or hurl a plate at his head, unless, you know, he said something absolutely ignorant.

Dolly's move to the chair had not just been for comfort's sake, tucked between the cushion was her wand. She had been quite the duelist in her day and though she didn't think Adam really wanted to hurt her (namely because is eyes had the same general gleam of a man before a steak he wanted to devour), she was not going to be caught unarmed if he decided he wasn't going to be so charitable. She leaned back into his hands and gave a small purr, and though she heard his words she had already made up her mind about what needed to happen.

"You can't kill her Adam, she's obviously ill. She needs help," Dolly was a soft heart. It often bit her in the ass - but it wasn't something she advertised to people. The public thought what it would think about her and that was okay. In the more recent weeks she had become comfortable with the fact that she often cared too much about the wrong people, that she was some how too forgiving while still holding nasty grudges. Though her instincts told her to fight it, she felt her muscles melting under his fingers, whatever tension he had caused slipping away.

When he came around to face her, her blue eyes were soft, "I'll double whatever she paid you. Just set up a meeting. If she wants me dead I'd like to know why. If it's because she thinks I don't care about my fans..." her voice trailed off as she shook her head. Her fans were the only reason she hadn't found a way out of her contact, that she hadn't just left the country when everything fell apart with Elliot and Dominik. She felt she owed them something, but she wasn't sure she could deliver it in a package they would like anymore. Leaning down she brushed his nose with hers, fingers resting against his jaw for a moment, "You'd never really hurt me, would you? I mean no more than running off and never speaking to me again hurt me".

I want Doppy threads, because of reasons. Mostly involving how red he turns whenever Dolly compliments him.

Also. I feel like Taffie threads should involve him having to reach high things for her...cause she's short yo.

Dolly had a type, it wasn't always obvious because there where some serious out lying anomalies (like Darian and Tappy). It might have been a typical sort of type, the bad boy with dark skin and an almost predatory smile, but they were her favorite. There was something about a presumably bad man with just a little bit of devil to his eyes, she'd let herself get sucked in just about every time.

Maybe it was the surly deposition in the end, they were harder to make laugh and thus a bit more of a challenge. Games of cat and mouse were no fun if someone was overpowered right out of the gate. Whatever it was, as Rick took a seat beside her she couldn't help but notice he had a more distinct edge than her former interest of the evening, blue eyes taking swift notice of the crisp material of his shirt and the way it tightened across the expanse of his chest. Much sharper edge.

"Oh I don't know, it get so very tedious hearing the same thing every day from my magic mirror. The only reason I keep asking is the hope one day there will be a Snow White to dispose of and I might have a little excitement," she sounded distinctly amused at the notion, red lips twitching with a smile as her chin rested against the hell of her hand. He was a cheeky bastard! It was good though, made things more interesting.

"Oh I am perfectly aware of who you are Darling. Your, ah, reputation with your hands precedes you, greatly," traveling in a circle like Dolly's afforded her the ability of knowing people without ever having met them. The Wizarding World was not so large in the end. Someone always knew someone who was a cousin of someone else. In this particular case it was her own cousin Charlotte.

Though the two didn't often discuss men, it was no secret she'd had her time with the very handsome man to Dolly's side. Dolly could see the appeal as she gratefully took a fresh drink from the bartender, "Thank you, by the way. I'd hate to seem rude, even if you did scare away my dinner," her Cheshire Cat grin was bright as she bit down on her nail, shoulders rising in a contented shrug before she took a healthy sip from her glass. Maybe she'd have Odette meet a bad man in a bar in her next chapter, be a good way to kill her off.

Armiece - I will bug you on AIM with ideas that I haaaaave <3

Socks - My Effie and Dolly plates are a little full right now. I don't want to overwhelm myself and then drop off hte face of the earth again but we'll do something as soon as things thin out again.

Kit -
Storm and Sophie - I will have to meditate on this. I might leave Soph inactive for awhile until I figure out how I want her to move and grow; but if I come up with something I think SAWS would be a good excuse for her to talk to him. She might confide about her lack of direction with it - since they have sort of gotten what they wanted out of it.

Theta and Ruby/Sophie - So the story I think I am going with is that Ruby went back to the states in late January/early February because their great grandmother fell ill and since she really doesn't have a serious career/job it was easier for her to leave than for the rest of the family to try and coordinate Abuela's care. If I put her back up for adoption that leaves room for someone taking her to decide what she will do/has been doing.

Jolly - (now they have a ship name but I still like Cheekbones and the Harlot better... OH CatH!) She would totally impart lady-wisdom to her. She is a love Guru here to solve all your problems... or make them worse; either way you will have so much fun picking up the pieces!

Ignan, Ambrose, and Effie - Class is up! I'm also thinking of putting together a seminar on animagi stuffs. Ambrose could always come see Effie during her tutoring block? She could try to suss out whether or not the trouble comes from anxiety or he's just... you know... bad at Magic. XD

The whole thing was a little surreal. It made her head swim; but some how having lived through the last year made it almost impossible to become hysterical. Maybe it was some sort of post traumatic delusion - she didn't think she was immortal or invincible but dying was really the least of her worries. She actually snorted when he claimed not even seducing him would detour him from his mission, "Obviously you're not speaking from experience or you'd know what an utter load of shit that is". Dolly's sexuality had become a tool in her late teens. She knew she was good in bed, she knew it was a weapon. Stronger than her wand, stronger than her wit, she had brought men twice her age to their knees before she'd officially left Hogwarts. Once a Lolita, she had grown into a slithering fem fatal; and they both knew it.

"It will all make sense when you read the book. I promise," she gave a slight bow as she returned to his reaction over her ill fated lovers. She wasn't going to defend her choices before they were even in print. She wouldn't do it after either because her reasons for how the story were going happened to be deeply personal. True fans of the series would understand and see why it had to happen. Or they wouldn't, she couldn't be sure, but it didn't really matter because the one thing she truly owed fans was a good story and not all good stories had to have typical happy endings. It was a philosophy she was trying apply to her own life. It wasn't always easy, sometimes she still felt a little bitter about how everything had fallen to pieces but... now certainly wasn't the time to dwell on that.

Pouring him another drink, she stood just out of his reach with her hand on her hip, "Oh I don't know. We could fake my death, though we should wait till I finish the last one. Sales would sky rocket. I would be a legend. It's a brilliant bit of marketing, that". Her inability to take the situation serious was the only thing keeping her from having a full blown anxiety attack. Kicking off her heels she dropped into the arm chair across from him, tucking her legs as she made herself comfortable, dark hair pulled over one shoulder, "Who is it even? I mean I know I'm in gossip rags and the books sell well but deranged fans? Really? It all seems a bit ridiculous. She must be very troubled," there was a note of sadness to her voice, not quite pity but something akin to sympathy. She couldn't fathom having so little in life.

Dolly quietly bask in the attention, feeling very much in her element. She only partially wished they were at a showing of Jasper's own work. She'd have to volunteer the next time he had an opening. Of course all this pleasantness was derailed when Dame Gertrude of Lincolnshire decided to stick her big fat bulbousy nose right where it didn't belong as usual. Dolly forced a polite smile, as the redheaded woman and Jasper exchanged pleasantries, blue eyes scanning for someone with more alcohol. If there was one woman Dolly was loathed to spend a single second around it was Gertrude bloody Gorre. She never let anyone forget she'd once had tea with the queen. Dolly would have liked to snap her old turkey waddle neck in half every time she brought it up.

The two women regarded one another with forced politeness, "Lovely to see you've beaten that bout of gout Trudy. We were so disappointed you missed the New Year's Eve Gala," the curvaceous author lied through her teeth. If she hadn't been in a flood length gown and heels that night she'd have done cartwheels when Liadan had informed her that the elder witch was poorly. In fact, despite the bad taste it was in Dolly had mumbled something about hoping it was fatal. It was not exactly clear why they detested one another so fully but it probably had something to do with Gertrude trying to fail Dolly in Charm School the summer she was thirteen. St. James' women were known to hold long grudges.

Darlingest of Darlings,

I am procrastinating on choosing table cloth samples and ignoring what I am sure is a Howler from Dame Gertrude of Lincolnshire. Cor she's an old cow Darian. I hate her, hate her, hate her, hate her!

Now I feel a little better.

I feel like if we talk about insults we will end up in the circular logic of "do you bite your thumb at me Sir" "I do bite my thumb Sir". Also did you just imply I'm getting fat because I need a big fan?

Come drink with me. I don't care that it's eight in the morning. We can have wine for breakfast, there's grapes in there somewhere and that is fruit, and fruit is for breaky.

Her laugh came in a bright burst, as he commented on temptation. If she'd been easy to find, well it was hard to feed a starving man - or some other analogy that failed her in that moment. She found herself rather glad she'd decided to open the door (though curious about what it was that he could really want). Her smile grew as he stood behind her, breath warm on her neck as she cocked a quizzical eyebrow. It wasn't that Dolly ever doubted her appeal to men; it was just rather flattering that whatever little spark had burned between them when she was sixteen still existed. It had been so simple back then; life in general but especially her romantic life.

The comforting thing about Adam was... he wasn't going to fall in love with her. She couldn't hurt him because, well, he was like her, damaged already by life. It wasn't like Eli or Tappy; good men who'd gotten mixed up with the wrong woman at the wrong time. Of course that train of thought was quickly derailed by his explanation for his visit. She stood, facing him now, his hands still on her shoulders, blue eyes blinking dumbly. Kill her? "Well that's new. I wonder how she'll feel when Odette doesn't marry Devlin in the last book," her voice actually sounded... amused by the whole thing. Well, she was amused but in a dark way. It seemed a bit ironic that a little more than a month shy of a year since she nearly died someone wanted her dead. She wondered, vaguely, if Adam even knew she'd been in the Calavera's Direwolf attack. It was rather poetic of him if he did.

There was a slight pang in her chest as his hands dropped from her shoulders, though she quickly turned back to the bar and poured herself a tumbler of firewhiskey, "I believe we've been upgraded to a hard liquor kind of night Darling. You are here to kill me after all," again that morbid amusement was in her voice as she handed him a stiff drink and poured another for herself. Toying with the pendent at her neck she narrowed her eyes a little as she turned back to look at him, "I do hope you're planning on taking me to dinner or something to honor my last meal. I mean if you're going to tell someone you're there to kill them you ought to have the decency to take a girl out first". She refrained from making the obvious joke about staying in, though she did step a little closer and tug lightly on the front of his jacket, "I don't suppose I could change your mind"?

The trouble with being Dolly St. James was that you always had to look like Dolly St. James; which meant that even when you were staying home because you had a book you had to finish and you were actually making progress you had to dress like you might be trying to seduce your typewriter. She just never knew who would show up at her door. Dolly's main goal in life was to be two things: classy and fabulous. Of course classy sometimes fell by the wayside but even two bottles deep in the land of Vodka, she liked to think she was still pretty damn fabulous. Given all of this information it really didn't surprise her when there was a knock on the front door. People just stopped by, it was the way of her life and normally she didn't mind because it was usually a welcome distraction.

Tonight wasn't really so different, except that she was finally past a bit of her block and the words just seemed to leap onto the page. It was the only reason she even thought of not answering the door. Of course curiosity killed the cat (and satisfaction brought it back), so it was really only a momentary pause before she pushed away from her desk and moved toward the foyer. Even a life full of surprises could not prepare her for what greeted her on the other side. Adam. Though it had been a good many years (so many in fact she had made herself forget the exact number) he looked almost exactly the same. Older maybe, lines forming at the corner of his eyes and mouth but even they seemed familiar as her blue eyes took in the sight of him.

"Salazar's knickers," it was a soft not-quite-exclamation that passed slightly parted red lips. It wasn't often Dolly was left speechless, she was more a fan of leaving people that way. There he was though, in the flesh. To say they had been friends would have been a stretch. He was one of the first boys she had ever tried to use against Dominik. It wasn't her finest hour, she could admit to that but it had been fun. He was quite an excellent kisser if memory served her right. It wasn't as torrid or damaging as Landis had been, but then nothing in life was ever as complicated as her relationship with Landis. Her lips twitched with a small smile as she arched an eyebrow, "I'd ask how the devil you found me but if memory serves once you set your mind to something you knew how to get it".

Stepping back from the doorway, her posture was relaxed as she walked away, assuming he'd follow (or just enjoy the view, whichever). "Your timing is impeccable as always Darling, I just opened a fresh bottle of red," she glanced over her shoulder at him with a rueful grin. For some people it might have been strange, an old fling showing up at their door unannounced, after having not spoken for years upon years. Dolly didn't let things like time lapse throw her off. She was the kind of person used to just picking up where things had left off, like picking up a familiar book and knowing the words without really thinking no matter the page you landed on. "You hate the city, so I'm assuming this is more than a social call".

Slybutts

I was thinking of having Effie be an animagus but I kind of like the fact she's not but she's still really into the subject. I will have to develop my feels on this; but until I decide she could totally pow wow with Gracie pre-lesson about it? That could be what prompts her to revisit the subject actually and would give me a nice segway for fodder if you're up for it?

I like the idea of Roh and Gracie running into one another as cats! I think we should have hilarious shenanigans with them, also I see Waverly like pouncing on her and cat wrestling (playing not fighting) and then they can hear one another however it is cats/animagi communicate with one another and be like ohmyglob it's YOU!

Miss Jess
I just sent you a pm with one idea of what we could do. I'd like to kind of establish where the rest of the Monarchy is. I've seen Tor around, and Sly told me Aero is back with Mimi so that's four of them accounted for. I haven't been back long enough to stalk Malia or anyone else, but I will get on that soon!

Jager
ohmyglob. Let me love you. <3

Dolly
Adam: Can we please do this, yes? I would hazard a guess and say she'd not the kind to narc just because she stood by Dom while he was a Death Eater; even though she didn't agree with the politics of it. She was darker and more connected to the underbelly when I first made her but I think Adam could lure her back to the dark side. She would gladly welcome his snogs as she is looking for new distractions from ALL THE THINGS. She also really liked older boys when she was at Hogwarts; but that was also when she fell in love with Dom so by like her 5th year she was like trying to make him jealous. She could have tried to use Adam for that at one point (cause, J.Ackles is mah boo)?

Ryder: She would eat him for lunch. Dolly isn't easily duped into being a pawn. She's very world-savvy; the big heart and forgiveness comes into play with people who knew her before she was famous. And she'd take his mocking with a grain of salt because she's kind of embarrassed of the first books. She looks at them and is like "I was so arrogant and bad. How could I be so bad at everything but love scenes?!" It would be fun to throw them together though and have him sort of trying to bait her.

If Cooper weren't such a mess she'd probably flirt with him; but he's so sad I can't bring myself to let her give him grief! I have no ideas for Harry but I will meditate on it!

Nola
When I get the band stuff sorted and figure out where everything stands I will let you know! If Cody is still playing Iggy then we have a drummer and there was another band member someone  else was writing but the character has gone inactive so I will let you know what positions are left! As for Ryder hating her: yey! Drink the haterade bb! XD I have got to quit using that word. I'm so old. Anyway! It would be really funny to have a thread with Ryder being a jerk and her being like "Who pissed in your pumpkin juice this morning" because you know, oblivious Nola is oblivious.

Adam: She would snog him so.hard jsyk.

Effie
Cooper: My inner Effie is just like "LET ME LOVE YOU BETTER" - but not in a romantic way XD She just hates seeing people suffer. I like the idea of them having been friends/still being friends. I think she would send him owls nagging about the care he's taking of himself and demand he visit so she can snuggle him. I just... I could have a lot of Coffie feels okay?

Ryder: Effie actually just started teaching at Hogwarts right after the winter break. She hasn't been there long at all which is SAD because I like this idea! She was a traveling tutor before hand, I dont know if that offers up some sort of interaction between them or not, like if he'd have needed extra help over the summer or what have you? Effie likes to believe the best about people so if she knew him she wouldn't want to give up on him but she might want to choke him.

Livi
Ryder is her type of guy, she believes in cultivating relationships that are beneficial to all parties involved but especially to herself. I don't know how would would thread them until Easter Holidays unless we did correspondence?

I will have to think about the other girls and your boys but I am so excited!

Kit-tastic

This original post was so long I was worried if I added anything else no one would bother to read it! I'm a little surprised anyone did in the first place anyway! You know I love your characters and always want to plot with yooooou because you're amazing. I would really like to find a reason for Storm and Sophie to interact again. I wish I had put her in DADA; but maybe she could come to him for help with her general wand work because it's her biggest weakness? I would also love to throw Dolly and Johann together again because Broody McCheekbones and the Lady Harlot (whcih is what I call them in my head) should be a crime fighting duo for reals. Maybe Dolly will write a detective series next! We could also do Sophie-Theta threads over Easter Hols when they come around? The only reason I was sad to retire Ruby was because we never got to write EPIC ROOMMATES. Those are the ideas I have off the top of my head, besides be continuing to insist Ignan has a crush on Effie. NANEFFIE 5EVER OTP IN MY BRAIN (kidding, kidding...sort of).

MY SUNNIEST OF SHINES
I cannot wait to write Rohnie posts (that's their ship name I decided).

Effie will love Kella. She wants to smoosh her face (okay maybe I am giving Effie my feels. Don't judge). Also she will want to give Annie calming droughts because she's worried she will go bald from stress!

Sophie and Bryn need to interact. We just need to figure out how. I also think Effie would like her. Effie likes all the people though.

I feel like I should be writing more for you but we're talking on AIM so. don't hate me for my lack of ideas <3

Right, so it's once again time for the obligatory "I r backs, plots for me plz" post! There are lots of new faces since I was last here and also I was gone for a long time so this is your one stop shop for all things SJ related, with a general rundown of who my characters are and why I hope you like them. <3

Dolly St.James
Bio & Network
We will start with the Queen of Hearts! Or is it Diamonds? It doesn't really matter I suppose, she'll take both in equal measure. A lot has happened to Dolly over the last ao-year; when I created her she was sort of this high flying devil take the hind most character. Then she almost died in last March's Werewolf attacks, she dismissed her long time never-ending-cycle-of-crazy childhood romance-non-romance with Dominik Wiedman, then her ex-fiance was back in the picture and now... well now I don't really know what I'm doing with her! That is where you come in, at this current moment she is a bit of a blank slate when it comes to plots. I have some old threads from early January rp-time if you'd like to tie those up let me know, or if you prefer to just leave them and do something new I am ammenable to whatever you need from me 'n' Dolls.

For those of you unfamiliar with her shennegins and too busy too read through her bio (or alternately are too busy to read through five seemingly excessively long bios that probably need to be updated anyway) she is the Wizarding World's answer to a series of grown-up Gossip Girl sort of romance novels The Slither Girls. Of course when I say "grown up" I mean the characters themselves are no adults but the reading audience starts with tweens and grows in to Grannies. The series is based on Dolly's own exploits from her late teens-early twenties, and followed the devastating battle of love-wills between main character Odette and her leading dream man Devlin (who's soruce of inspiration is hotly debated, but in reality is fearsome Falcon's Beater and former Death Eater Dominik Wiedman). She also comes from a pretty notable old money family and was famous for being famous before people like Paris Hilton made it lame. Cheeky and sure of herself, Dolly's pithy mask hides a tender extremely loyal (and subsequently forgiving) heart. She's good at being who people need her to be and she's always in the market for new friends, conquests, and cat fights!

Magnolia Nettlebottom
Bio & Network & Band Request (will go here when I update and repost it)
Next up is the Magical Magnolia (more commonly known as Nola), the lead singer of Nola and the Knockturnals. They're a grungy Wrock band on the rise (I swear I don't only write famous people). I haven't ever really gotten her off the ground. I've had one or two threads with her but she is also basically a blank slate. She needs all kinds of plots and love and also BAND MEMBERS - which I will be updating and reposting later as soon as I figure out some things and stuff and words. Least helpful SJ ever, I know. Anyway she's kind of modeled after Taylor Momsen herself, and her band The Pretty Reckless; their sound is the sound of The Knockturnals.

Nola is meant to be a dark character who hangs out with shady people. The Knockturnals are named so because they're all sort of on the underbelly of the Wizarding world with an interest in dark magic, the occult, and other witchy goodness things. She's also supposed to have a potion habit but as previously stated I've never really gotten her off the ground so all these things are just ideas in development at this point. I don't see her ever being squeaky clean or anything, but she could always use someone to lead her down the less-than-righteous pathways of Knockturn. She has serious anxiety issues (which is where the Potions were supposed to come in), and in general is your typical wants-to-have-a-hand-in-everything content creator. She's hard to work with but she's also good... and even though it makes me a HORRIBLE influence people should really think about helping me round out the rest of her band because I promise it will be FUN TIMES.

Professor Effie Finnigan
Bio & Network
And now we move on to my denizens of Hogwarts Castle! Effie is my newest baby but I managed to do a bit with her before I vanished in a puff of life-is-weird-and-kind-of-horrible smoke. The first thing you need to know about her is that she's a teacher. I don't just mean as in that's her job; but in the sense that it's her higher calling, it's her personality. She was teaching because she was a Professor, before she was a tutor, before she ever came to Hogwarts as a student! There is nothing else in the world she would really know how to do, so it's probably really lucky that she loves it so much. She's tiny, and energetic, and she talks too much - but I hope that's what makes her endearing.

I would love to build relationships with her students and fellow professors, but I do ask if you're going to hate her... can we at least plot it? I'm a firm believer in the show-me-don't-tell-me way of RPing; but if someone is meant to be a dedicated taught the "unteachable" type of educator (which is my goal with Effie) and want to have issues with her I'd at least like to have a heads up so we can plot accordingly. I don't expect her to be everyone's favorite Professor or anything but she is supposed to be good at her job and she's been doing it a long time. Outside of Hogwarts, I think she'd have a rather large collection of people she calls friends - characters she went to school with or met on her travels as a tutor. She's the kind of person, who while endearingly socially awkward and forever saying the wrong thing, also just plows through all of that because she likes people. She could talk the legs of a cauldron if you let her! I've kept her pretty scares on romance, she's kind of a commitment-phob. She's had about one serious relationship that I can gather and that was with Bertie Hughes (because pic spam, Zac Braff & Natalie Portman omg). She doesn't really think of herself as a romantic entity. She's just silly...and uses a lot of exclamation points!

Liviana Wiedman
Bio & Network
Students, yey! Why do I have so many of these ohmyglob. Anyway this is Livi, she's basically Slytherin Royalty. Only I'm not sure if the Monarchy is still a thing so lemme break it down for you. Her brother is Dominik Wiedman; badass beater. Her godmother is the Divine Miss Dolly St. J, and she has the closet that is probably the size of a small country filled with frilly dresses and impeccable manners. She actually really isn't into the whole Slytherin Monarchy thing; she fully blames her cousin and former Queen Bee mean girl for casting her in this stereotype which is really offensive. That being said, Liv fills out the requirements of being kind of prissy, kind of snarky, very sneaky, and emotionally manipulative when she wants something. I would like to think she is more than the sum of her parts; but you know, she's also sixteen. She does like being liked (and also a little bit likes being revered). She isn't big on the fear, and she's firm believer in house unity above all else. You may not be a Slytherin she personally likes or wants to spend time with; but if someone else messes with you they will incur the wrath of the doe eye'd Princess. Sort of that "I can say what I want about my family, they're MY family, no one else can" mentality.

She's currently dating Ezra Inkwood because he is delicious and adorable; it's more serious than any of her past relationships. Prior to Ezra boys were sort of like handbags, she needed one that complimented her shoes, but there was no real sense of devotion. I think Thea is retiring her cousin Carys and she was kind of Livi's best friend so she's in the market for a new one of those. She's polite to everyone but she does kind of stick to her own kind + Ravenclaws. Her stance on blood purity is a hot debate; because while she IS proud that she's a Pureblood it doesn't bother her that other people aren't. People assume because of her brother's status as a former DE that she's very RAWR BLOOD PURITY, but she really isn't. This might change at some point but for now as long as you're classy she won't drink the haterade.

Sophie Flickwick
Bio & Network
Now we are moving onto characters I have yet to get active but cannot imagine not keeping. Sophie is my baby, I am horribly cruel to her (I offed her mother after all) but I love her. The basic rundown goes like this: her dad is Duncan Flickwick of Mandrake Siren (a very popular Wrock Band, but Sophie herself isn't famous), her mother was a Werewolf Liaison who was killed in last years March 11th werewolf attacks.  She has an older brother who plays in the band with her dad; but is working on a solo career as well, one older sister studying in Greece, and one sister (Rub,y who I wrote but have since retired, who will be put back up for adoption) who is sort of bumming around London not doing anything with her life. The family dynamic is really important to Sophie as a character because before her mother died they were this cohesive unit that was really close and did everything together. Without her mother they've splintered off and sort of collapsed in on themselves. It's made Sophie very lonely but I am trying to move her back toward her sunny happy self.

She's dating Figaro Sellaphix (no one knows why and even Sophie wonders sometimes), and she's generally outgoing and likable. She's very involved in Werewolf rights, despite how her mother died. She was heading up the SAWS organization at Hogwarts but I'm not sure if anything has happened with that in my absence. If nothing has moved forward then I'll gladly try to put something together but suggestions and ideas for that would be welcomed. Since  we have at least two werewolf students it could be a handy thing to have around. I think a lot of characters she used to pal around with have gone inactive/been retired so I'd like to rebuild her social network so to speak. She's not as loud as she used to be... but she's still pretty loud and sometimes obnoxiously immature. She's good people though so you should maybe forgive her that.

Waverly Roh-Ballentyne
Bio & Network
Last, but certainly not least, we have Waverly – who you should really just call Roh because (as she will tell you) there are no good nicknames for Waverly... and I am basically going to quote her network blurb to save time: she's a Slytherin - but don't let that deter you, cause in reality she'd probably rather be a Ravenclaw (silly Sorting Hat listening to the wishes of an 11 year old who idolized her mother). She doesn't really buy into the whole house segregation thing, she thinks there are idiots and a-holes in every house so where the Hat stuck you has no real bearing on the kind of person you are. If you're an interesting, funny person she could care less if you're a Hufflepuff or a TWT kid. She prides herself on imagining people complexly and trying to see all sides of an argument...but she's also got a stubborn streak as wide as the English Channel when she thinks she's in the right.

Other important things to know about Roh - she has two moms. Don't say bad things about them because she's really good with her wand and also smacks people for being jerks. She has no problem standing up for herself or other people but she's more quick to defend the underdog in a fight. She demands respect; but the flip side of that is that she's also respectful. She doesn't like to tread on people's feelings; but she also kind of can't keep her mouth shut. Her bf5ever is Salemite Champion Annie Enright (even though they've known know one another since like September); and she's generally just outgoing and up for a good time. OH she's also learning to be an Animagus and she looks like this when she is in her animal form (also she likes belleh rubs).

Thursday night at Calavera's had become a habit of Dolly's[1] - which was strange in and of itself because she was not a creature of habit. Well she'd had one habit but that had been cut off ages ago and she didn't even think about him much anymore that was a total lie but it was a comforting lie so she was going with it. The band played, she drank, and sometimes she talked to people. When she didn't particularly want attention she would hide out in a private booth with an excellent view. This was the crunch time for her, she had deadlines to meet. Sometimes a girl just needed a little reprieve from the introspection writing the final in a series took.

So tonight she was at the bar (a change of pace), drinking Whiskey (straight no chaser), and scanning the crowd for anyone interesting. Thursday was not exactly A-game night, but the crowd wasn't bad. Mostly everyone was keeping to a party or themselves. Her interlude with the dreamy singer from the previous spring long since forgotten in the winter months. She still appreciated the way he sang the blues but she had needed a different speed. He was the matrimony sort and she never would be; no matter how much she joked about Darian being her first husband. There was no real spark there, no adventure. That was what she really wanted, the adventure of exploring someone new. It'd been a long time since she'd added anyone new to her rotation of pretty faces.

That was when she spotted him, dark and brooding - just familiar enough to be inviting. She leaned against the bar watching him with half lidded eyes, lips twitching with a small smile. He might not have been the kind of adventure she'd been pondering when she left her flat, but he was an adventure to be sure. The key with most men was in letting them think everything was their idea, that they were in complete control. It was a very intricate dance, it needed to be timed exactly to perfection. She was just working out how to get him to approach her when she felt a rough finger tap her bare shoulder, dark curls bouncing as she spun to face her company, smile growing in recgonition, "Well hello Stranger. I don't think I've seen you since you were pretending to be a Huntsman with a really bad perm. You've impeccable timing, I was just setting my sights on a conquest for the evening. Now you've scared him off, you should buy me a drink and tell me I'm gorgeous".
