“Excuse me!” Gabby also sat up, hands in the air but grinning broadly. “I was not the author of ‘Flobberworm Fornication’.” Waverly was up on her feet, disposing of the books in dramatic Roh fashion. Burn them! Burn them all!
“Well that’s our creepy beds gone.” Gabs threw her hands up in faux concern. They’d sort something. And if they drank enough before sleep time, it would hardly matter, anyway.
“You know, I could, however, write a whole encyclopaedia on dragon coitus.” She pointed out, staring at the flames now heating the previously cold room. “Oh, my god, you should hear the noise they make when it’s bonking time.” Crossing her legs and sitting with her back straight, Gabriella drew a deep breath before letting out one hell of a groan/scream/roar. It was loud and hilarious sounding, but when she was finished, she looked rather proud of herself. “That’s dragon sexy, that.” She winked. “I just gave you my dragon mating call.”

Burgoyne Burbidges Lofts / Re: [14 Jan] Janky But It's OursAugust 16, 2019, 10:52:25 AM “You’re funny.” Gabby said with a half laugh, half roll of her eyes. “I asked Dad for the furniture from my room. His response? ‘You’ll need to it here when you come crawling back.’” she put on her best grumpy man voice. “Cheeky bugger.” Her entire life, Gabby had basically been at war with her Dad. She knew, now she was older, that he’d pulled the short straw. Her mum had died and left him to do it all alone, and they just really didn’t get along. Felix wasn’t made to be a single dad, or a dad at all, Gabby considered. Now Waverly, with two mums, also had millions of complaints. Maybe they were just better off with friends. Friends didn’t order you about.
Now, about the books for a bed… “Not fair, really. Clearly your mums think this is going to work. Not even a bed. He’d setting me up to fail at the first hurdle.” Her fingers her in Waverly’s curly hair as the other girl rested her head on her stomach. “A sodding bed. What book shall I make my bed? ‘Running with magic chickens’, or…” she squinted, trying to make out the titles visible at the top of the box from their angle. “100 fascinating facts about flobberworm fornication’? Eeesh.” They’d be fine. It was a tight first month. But Wav’s ‘business’ would soon be lifting off (excuse the pun), and they’d be soaring. Just a few weeks of slumming it. “You can have the flobberworm fornication one. I don’t want dreams of that.” 3
Burgoyne Burbidges Lofts / Re: [14 Jan] Janky But It's OursJuly 21, 2019, 09:14:08 AM The flat was a stark contrast to where Gabby Dagon had grown up. When not at Hogwarts, Gabby had been in the French Alps, living with her father on his dragon ranch. The chalet had been open and bright, enormous windows and plenty of natural light. It had been homely and clean, and it had felt safe. This was small and grotty and bare. No furniture, no homeliness. Most people would have turned their noses up at this grubby flat. Gabby and Wav had excitedly put down a deposit and moved themselves in. Not that there had been much to move in. They’d have to scrimp and save to get any furniture, but they’d get there.
Gabby was looking out of the large windows as her feline friend pranced around, inspecting their new home from a more unique angle. “Ferociously on point.” Gabs responded with a grin. Wav span around excitedly, and Gabby dropped herself down, taking to lying on the dusty floorboards. She put her hands behind her head, looking up at the super cool urban pipework. “We need booze for a party. Crap party with no booze.” She laughed, amused. “Or seats. And gillyweed. And a bed to pass out on. 2 beds. I starfish.” A long list of things they needed. To gabby, having a bed definitely needed to be top of the list! 4
Carstairs/Bevans/Gamp Flat / Re: [Dec 31] We Are Young [Open]July 13, 2019, 07:15:58 AM Gabby didn’t need to be told twice to take a shot. She gratefully took it off her clearly drunker former dorm mate and necked it.
"If I try to hex anyone's balls you have to confiscate my wand, okay?" “Can’t make any promises,” Gabby shrugged and put the shot glass on the side. So Figgy Sellaphix and Moira McBoid had gone off in a huff, there was a muggle here, and another randomer who was making her way over. Nemo. Who giggled about balls and chose her own name. Gabby was a little too drunk to have her usual censor (although, Raine may have argued that Gabriella had no censor). “Gabriella,” she pointed to herself, mimicking Nemo, “My parents chose it.” She rose her dark eyebrows and grinned. “You’re not a muggle, are you?” No more muggles. One was too many. Feeling like she definitely needed it, Gabby refilled her shot glass another two times. 5
Carstairs/Bevans/Gamp Flat / Re: [Dec 31] We Are Young [Open]June 01, 2019, 10:55:53 AM It was lucky that Gabby Dagon didn’t splinch herself when she apparated from the club to the flat where her former schoolmates were celebrating the New Year. Her and Waverly Roh-Ballentyne had been drinking before they’d even gone out. A few predrinks to get them started and save money. A few of them had planned to take on all of the magical nightclubs in London together. 5 drink Gabby had changed her mind and adamantly tried to persuade her friend to join her in coming to the flat party. Roh had refused, not wanting to see the schoolmates that actually had started real careers and had real jobs.
6 drink Gabby arrived at the flat and pushed the door open, stumbling slightly and stopping when she saw the mass of people. Waverly had said it would just be a sad little gathering of ministry drones. Nope, these people had smiles and alcohol. And…could she smell gillyweed? Dark, slightly drunken eyes scanned the room. Familiar faces whom she’d not seen in a few months of shovelling dragon shit in the Alps. A few unfamiliar faces. Bleugh. And was that…Figgy Sellaphix? In his underpants? Gabby’s eyes widened and she grinned, teetering slightly on her sparkly heels. “Are you playing a strip drinking game? Oh shit, Roh’s gonna be pissed she missed this.” 6

First Floor / Re: [9th May] Bludgered to DeathApril 18, 2017, 12:42:35 PM “He’s got things to do… like…” That was NOT what Gabby had imagined Professor Storm had to do! She’d have jumped from the peck were they not in such close proximity with Ari basically pressed up against her without a care in the world. Closeness had never affected Gabby before, it had seemed normal. But in this small cupboard with them all damp and wet and tired and close. Her lips had been so soft. She was pretty, warm.
Shit! What the hell was wrong with her? Where were these thoughts even coming from? “We should go before we miss curfew.” For one of the very rare moments in her life, Gabby really wasn’t sure what to say and certainly wasn’t willing to fill in the gaps with nonsense blather like usual. She reached behind her to the doorknob and twisted it, the door falling open and them practically tumbling out of the room. There was a mixture of legs trying to gain their balance before she steadied herself, pushed the mop of curly wet hair from her face to see the very person she’d tried to avoid. “Sorry, Professor.” The young witch muttered, trying to seem innocent. “Wrong turn…” 8
First Floor / Re: [9th May] Bludgered to DeathApril 02, 2017, 02:53:05 PM The kiss was nice. Soft warm lips meeting as Gabby’s eyes closed. This was what she’d been missing, what she’d not really understood for years. Ariadne didn’t jump away or push back her friend and Gabby could have gotten lost in the moment had their lips not parted.
When her eyes once more flashed open, they were inches away and Ariadne looked surprised, awkward. Suddenly Gabby’s stomach dropped as she realised what she’d really done. She’d just kissed her friend. Her girl friend. In a broom cupboard. With cleaning liquid and mops. Ariadne wasn’t that way inclined. Neither was Gabby. Merlins Ball this was confusing! Dark brown eyes searched her friend’s face as she was told that she wasn’t really going to die. Of course, she knew that! But now she wanted to ground to swallow her up! “Well that’s good.” The witch replied nervously, giving a nod. “I think he should be gone by now, yes?” she wanted out of that cupboard so bad! 9
First Floor / Re: [9th May] Bludgered to DeathApril 02, 2017, 12:56:13 PM “You think anyone else would fit?” Her hand was there, where it really shouldn’t be. This and the closeness was greatly confusing her mind. Gabby stared at her friend, someone whom she’d shared a room with for 7 years and rather enjoyed their company. Someone she’d recently started spending more time with and enjoying that even more. Someone who was pressed up against her in the broom closet with her hand someone no one had ever touched.
Gabby had never kissed anyone before. She’d never really wanted to kiss anyone before. Right now, she wanted to kiss Ariadne. Any why would Ari be so close if she didn’t want the same. Teenagers were supposed to experiment, weren’t they? With that decided, Gabby leaned forward towards the other girl, her hand still gripping her broom. Her heart was suddenly beating quickly, loudly. She could hear it as her lips closed in on Ari’s. 10
First Floor / Re: [9th May] Bludgered to DeathApril 02, 2017, 11:45:01 AM Gabriella had quickly found herself pinned to the door by her friend and she was suddenly finding this very odd. Ariadne was more occupied with the fact that Gabriella had a shortened life span thanks to her lack of homework and Gabby was preoccupied with their extreme closeness.
There was no move to push the other girl away in the tiny space, instead Gabby’s brow rose as Ariadne seemed to take the gravity of Gabby’s fate more seriously than the homework avoidee took it. Until she laughed and Gabby’s face cracked into a grin. “You mean accessory to no homework submission. That’s a hundred times worse.” She wasn’t even sure what Storm’s next move would be. But she was more interested in what was suddenly happening inside the tiny cupboard than outside of it. “Will you miss me when I die?” 11
First Floor / Re: [9th May] Bludgered to DeathApril 02, 2017, 11:17:07 AM In all honesty, Gabby had expected an empty classroom, a large cupboard or at least a space big enough for them to stand in without being quite so…close. But instead, she’d dragged her friend into a cleaning cupboard and she was pressed up against a now closed door with Ariadne a mere few inches away. Both were damp from the rain and it was decidedly cosy.
There was absolutely no fooling her friend about the nature of their situation because Ari immediately clocked on and Gabby was suddenly looking decidedly guilty. “You distracted me.” She replied, finding it much easier to blame someone else for her stupid mistake. “He expected me at detention tonight but I’m not wasting my time with that. So, the next time I see him there needs to be a lot of witnesses.” Her dark eyes danced across Ari’s face, the prefect who very rarely stepped a foot wrong. Until recently, neither had Gabriella. 12
First Floor / [9th May] Bludgered to DeathApril 02, 2017, 10:52:49 AM “You dodged that bludger so close today.” Gabriella proudly complimented her friend as they trudged through the entrance hall of the castle in their Quidditch robes, brooms held up in their hands. “I thought you were going to go.” It had, obviously, helped that Gabby had swooped in to bat it away just as Ariadne had dived out of its way.
“I know I’ve still not picked my career plan for after school, but healer is not one of them. Blood is so messy.” They began to march up the stairs. “But that was close, Ari. Don’t go cracking your skull open this close to exams. You know they won’t even let you get out of them if you are in your death bed! They’ll bring the papers to you!” As they mounted the steps, Gabby’s mass of curly hair bounced in its pony tail secured high on the back of her head. As usual, she barely stopped talking, abhorring silence with a passion. They were starting up the grand staircase when a set of footsteps could be heard above and Gabby finally stopped talking. The steps were purposeful, business-like. That of a professor. Dark eyes shot up to see none other than Professor Storm making his way down towards them. “Shit!” The seventh year cursed as she suddenly remembered were she really should have been that evening. Grabbing Ari’s arm with her spare hand, Gabby forcefully yanked her towards the nearest door. It was opened with a quick ‘alohomora’ and they were inside. 13
Hogwarts Library / Re: Tomfoolery and Twaddle [May 7th] (OPEN)March 08, 2017, 11:53:55 AM “That they’re his equals.”
Gabriella didn’t even try to hide the rolling of her eyes. Ari was a goodytwoshoes sometimes. That was definitely the reason she’d been chosen as a prefect over the other girls. Over Gabby. Bevans responded adequately and Gabby once more, gladly, took the flask for another swig. The essay was going well. It would be finished in no time if she got drunk. Surely the writing would flow then. Or she could convince Ari to actually give some real help. "What makes you think I've never had a girlfriend?" “Because you don’t act like him.” she thumbed in Nicholas’ direction before grabbing Josh’s arm and pulled him closer to the desk. “You’d be so cute to a girlfriend! Really thoughtful but so awkward!” The girl was grinning brightly, perhaps getting a bit too excited by the prospect. “We should set you up! Ari and me!” Far more interesting than tackling homework and considering her future…. “What’s your flavour? Blonde? Brunette?” She twirled her own long hair and gave a wink. “Ooh red head. Short. Pretty but not over the top. Studious. I’ll think on it.” 14
Hogwarts Library / Re: Tomfoolery and Twaddle [May 7th] (OPEN)March 06, 2017, 06:30:58 AM “…If you do something stupid while drunk, though, I will take points and confiscate the booze if I catch you, Nick” Harcroft informed the group.
Gabby grinned, turning to glance at the prefect. “What if I do something stupid?” She gladly took the flask from her ‘favourite Gryffindor seventh year boy’ and took a healthy swig. It took a few seconds and a screwed up face to adjust to the strength and taste before handing it to Ariadne. "Wouldn't the inevitable result of that put girls off?" Loudly, Gabriella laughed. This was definitely better than sitting in silence finishing Storm’s essay. “What do you know about girls, Josh?” 15
Hogwarts Library / Re: Tomfoolery and Twaddle [May 7th] (OPEN)March 04, 2017, 12:17:13 PM If people were to listen to Nick, Ari and now Josh, they would presume that Gabby, not having handed in an essay to the scariest professor in the school, was a dead girl walking. she preferred to think of it as brave. Who else was going to stand up to the old grump, showing him how his deadlines and essays were a ridiculous expectation to put on teenagers that already had enough pressures? Everyone else put up with it in fear of his nasty detentions. Usually, that was Gabby.
“You wouldn’t leave an essay for anyone, Josh.” Gabby stated, deciding to ignore the discussion about a rude body part going on between the other two. Both were cruder than the girl who wasn’t even going to pretend she understood those things. Her eyes, did, however, drift to the pocket Bevans had indicated. “She won’t dock points.” Her dark gaze darted between both prefects, fixing Josh a stare for a moment. “Neither will.” Gabby then leaned towards Nick, fixing him with her sweetest smile. “You are my favourite Gryffindor seventh year boy.” |
