"Yeah," Ollie mused on that a moment. "Why you?"
Ollie was surprised she had remembered it and that any facts were at all helpful. Ollie wasn't sure exactly how she had helped Fauna figure something out but apparently she had. It was just a little something that Ollie had recalled. "You're welcome," Ollie said almost sounding a little unsure. "I am glad I could help out even a little." Ollie almost considered adding any time she was more than willing. But it wasn't like she would generally be involved in anything that Fauna did.
Ollie started walking again remember that they were here for another purpose though in the back of her mind she was still wondering why Fauna had the pendant and what it all meant and was connected to. It wasn't her place though.
"Hopefully we get up this hill and we see the delivery," otherwise they would going to be in a world of trouble.

Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostAugust 05, 2020, 07:57:25 PM Ollie nodded her head as Fauna went on to ask or rather clarify which Rosemary it was that Ollie was referring to. "Yes, that Rosemary." Ollie took a closer look at the pendant in Fauna's hand. Ollie wanted to pick it up but knew full well she couldn't do that. So she started to get a bit of a closer look at it.
"Phyllis' pendant I am pretty sure." She said standing up. "I think she gave it to Rosemary because she couldn't wear it anymore after becoming a werewolf," Ollie said it so easily where others might have perhaps paused. "You know us and our silver," Ollie said with a little bit of a laugh. But if memory served she was pretty sure. Though maybe it was something similar and not Phyllis' at all. "I wonder how it ended up in a place to be picked up by Trouble?" 3
Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostAugust 01, 2020, 05:45:03 PM When Fauna said it was important she felt more of a need to find it. She didn't want her friend to have lost something important coming on this errand with her. She started to look around for it careful for the necklace perhaps she should have asked what it was made of though given the nature of jewellery. Olivia felt a little bit of relief when her friend had found the necklace. Olivia looked at the pendant from a distance. It truly was simple.
"Do you keep hold of it to find the owner?" Olivia asked. She wouldn't put it past Fauna. She was curious though why her friend held onto it when a Raven had simply dropped it off. "I guess the Raven lives up to the name?" Olivia looked at the pendant still, it seemed oddly familiar. Why did that seem so familiar? Olivia got a little closer and seemed to notice. "Is that Rosemary's grandmother's pendant?" Olivia asked unsure that would be a small world. 4
Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostMarch 18, 2020, 11:52:19 PM That was calming. Olivia knew that they would figure there way out. This was not nefarious. It was maybe just a miss communication and this wasn't the worst thing in the world.
"That would be nice," she perked up with a smile. She would love to see Catherine, it had been a while obviously. Olivia would cherish the moment even if she was supposed to be working. Though she was sure if she told her boss what happened they would understand. Besides, perhaps it was there fault they were here. Olivia was looking around, but then she heard the concern from Fauna and she spun around. Lost something, oh that wasn't good in this tall grass. "Oh dear." She said as she started looking through the grass. "Is it important?" Olivia asked as she started to look for the described item. Hopefully, they could find it. "I'm sure we'll find it." Unless it fell out while they were moving through the port key. 5
Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostMarch 02, 2020, 11:08:26 PM Olivia was definitely relieved to have Fauna here. Her level head was what was needed to keep Olivia come at this moment. "Yeah, that's a good idea let's see what is around." Olivia let out a heavy sigh. This was not how she wanted her first field pick-up to go.
"The field is located outside Devonshire area I am pretty sure." Olivia said, hoping she had got that right. He hadn't given her a lot of direction, just use the port key as set up, meet the transports and come back. Apparently, it was not as going to plan as easily as she had thought. At least she had Fauna to apparate them back if needed, Olivia had never been great at it. "Maybe they cancelled and didn't say or are late themselves?" Olivia said trying to sound hopeful. 6
Magical Menagerie / Re: [January 16] An Old Face and Recent Memories [Knox]March 02, 2020, 11:00:51 PM Olivia stepped behind the register to ring Knox up. Though as he spoke she definitely took a moment to take his words to heart. He was right. Perhaps it was time to reach out to others from her not so distant past. It felt like forever but it wasn't that long ago in the scheme of things.
"You're right about that, definitely food for thought," Olivia said as she finished punching the amount into the register. Olivia fished for a bag and threw a few samples treats in the back with the one packet of wriggling treats. "I will aim not to be a stranger." 7
Magical Menagerie / Re: [January 16] An Old Face and Recent Memories [Knox]February 16, 2020, 11:05:37 PM Olivia agreed that when you spent so much time thinking about the incident and dwelling on it you did start to wonder if there had been a way to prevent the incident. Though thinking about that never did change it. "Sometimes you can get lost in thinking about the preventation when there is ultimately nothing you can do about it."
"Yes, I agree our fury is not wanted," Olivia said with a definite tone of sadness. It is a heavyweight to handle the whole fury problem. "You said it right for sure." Olivia sighed. "It is nice to have the chance to talk with you." Olivia felt like she had distanced herself from people when she left Hogwarts. She had distanced herself from everyone really because of the werewolf problem. As settled she had been in her own reality it got harder to be normal around other people. She was glad she had someone to talk to and hadn't really realized how much she had missed that. Having someone who understood as Knox did. 8
Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostFebruary 16, 2020, 10:55:12 PM Boy did she hate port keys. That was all she could really think as she was being pulled through. She understood the benefit of doing port keys for this because who wants to screw up apparating and honestly she wasn't so great at it. But as she landed rather ungracefully to the ground she really wished she didn't have to do that.
She groaned herself as she sat up and slowly started to dust herself off. She was looking around herself as Fauna asked if they were in the right spot. Huh, they had to be there was no other possibility. She stood up and looked around the clearing and furrowed her brow. This was supposed to be where they were to meet. Were they early? Had they cancelled? "This is where we were told to go," she looked back to her friend. It made her very happy she had asked Fauna to come. "This was where the port key was set up to take us." Olivia was a little nervous because this didn't seem right. "It doesn't seem right, does it?" 9
Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostFebruary 02, 2020, 11:17:52 PM Having Fauna around to help get the crates into the bag was definitely appreciated. Had it just been her it would have taken a lot longer. There were only so many employees at a time. Fauna was an extra set of hands that she appreciated and given it was her first time doing this having someone that was an auror trainee would be nice.
"Oh, it has definitely be used for that purpose." Ollie chuckled and she smiled as she watched Fauna pluck a feather from her hair. "I should make note we should probably clean it out sometime soon." Though she didn't want to be the one to suggest it so she was stuck with the task. Ollie picked up her back and put the inventory in place and looked to Fauna with a smile. "There is a portkey set up that will take us to our location. I think it is some sort field or something, private from muggle eyes but big enough to present the many animals. I don't think we are the only people they deliver to." Ollie just saying it was pleased to have company once again, it did sound a bit odd but then again it wasn't like they could go down to the docks with all the boats and muggles and offload magical creatures to a bunch of witches and wizards. 10
Magical Menagerie / Re: [January 16] An Old Face and Recent Memories [Knox]February 02, 2020, 11:02:34 PM Olivia listened to Knox taking mental note of the benefits of the Ministry. It made her wonder if it would be a better option, but she was hesitant. Perhaps she would talk with her mom again and see if it made the most sense for her to stay at home in the safety of comfort and familiarity.
She watched as he looked at the cat treats and smiled. "They are popular," she mentioned. Not really want to interrupt but she was at work after all and she was a saleswoman to a degree. She supposed she could see the appeal of the enchanted crickets keeping a cat busy. At the mention of Fauna, there was a moment she stiffened. It had been so long since she had seen Fauna but not long since she had thought of her if she honest with herself. "The fact you nearly killed someone never goes away." It was something she had to live with herself and she was never going to forget it. "It is something that I feel you can never properly right." 11
Magical Menagerie / Re: [January 16] An Old Face and Recent Memories [Knox]January 26, 2020, 06:02:39 PM He was probably right, it probably would be a walk in the park compared to what she had been through. Olivia hoped it would be anyway, she was confident she could talk to some peers. They could maybe benefit from speaking to someone that had been them. "I'll look forward to hear about that then." Maybe that sounded more positive and enthusastic than it should but she was pleased to help.
She looked at her fromer headmaster and now she supposed friend was more approrpiate. As he asked about where she transformed she smiled, "I have returned to the childhood home for that." It just felt right, it felt safe. "I considered the Ministry but I am just wary, I am not sure why." But she supposed it was something she could do and maybe should do. "How is the Ministry?" She asked, wanting another perspective. 12
Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostJanuary 26, 2020, 05:57:02 PM "Yes, let's catch up on the way," Ollie agreed. There was probably alot to share more than she had realized.
Ollie looked down at her list ensuring she had finished as planned by the Fauna had arrived. "I am all done here so no hands needed. We just need to go into the back and get our crates we transport in and well of course the inventory list." Olivia started towards the back room and gestured for Fauna to follow. "Thank goodness for magic really in times like these. We can get them all into a bag." Ollie couldn't even think how muggles could transport such big things. They could pop everything it is place in the work bag and get things back. But it was always good to have a second set of hands. "We might have to do a bit of shifting around depending on the size of the order." 13
Magical Menagerie / Re: [January 16] An Old Face and Recent Memories [Knox]January 20, 2020, 03:00:17 AM Olivia chuckled, she couldn't help it. "If only there was a hat." Olivia thought if only, it could be helpful. "I think they can come together in a positive way with the right people. It might just be what the new ones need to feel supported by their peers. I think that helped a lot having people like Fauna and Sophie in my life."
"But that is good of you not decree them to disband and give them the opportunity to organise." Olivia appreciated his approach and wished that he had been there for all of her schooling perhaps it would have been a different story. Knox had been a positive adult figure in her life and she really did appreciate it. "They are lucky to have a headmaster like you." "Though you can let the young new werewolves know I am a resource I am open to being contacted by them." She had managed to survive childhood as a werewolf and her teen years. If only she could use that to offer some helpful guidance. 14
Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostJanuary 20, 2020, 02:35:35 AM Ollie returned the hug, it was a gesture she was relieved that had happened. She felt that it relaxed things a little and like it was old times. Though so much time had passed.
"Thank you!" Ollie said very enthusiastically after she was informed that coffee was for her. How did Fauna know that was exactly what she needed? "Nope, definitely still not a morning person," Ollie chuckled. "Made worse by the approaching full moon, of course." Ollie reached out for the cup of coffee and took a sip. It was delicious and exactly what she needed in that moment even if she had a few cups already. Ollie was not one to refuse the help of caffeine to get through the day. "It is really good to see you," Ollie said that and she genuinely meant it. "I hate that it has been so long." She felt guilty for letting so much time pass. 15
Magical Menagerie / Re: [February 2] What might have been lostJanuary 16, 2020, 08:05:53 PM There had been a sense of relief when she got the response back that Fauna would come. It seemed as good an opportunity as any to catch up. Ollie had wanted to for some time but there was always some excuse not to reach out. Usually, some silly dark thought like she didn't deserve a friend like that or that Fauna wouldn't want to be connected with her more than she was. It was all silly and likely not a stitch of truth to it, yet it had kept her from reaching out for some time.
When they asked her to pick up a shipment she figured it best to get someone to come along with her. It was the first time she was doing it and the full moon was a few days away. It was best for business to have some company she thought. Why not an auror trainee? Once the idea was in her head there was no turning back. No excuse seemed right. The letter was off and no taking it back. So there was relief knowing Fauna wanted to join her, reconnect. They had shared so much over the years and it was shame to lose all that. The jingle of the door didn't make her stop what she was doing. The other clerk could handle a customer. Ollie was just finishing off an inventory count before picking up the shipment. She heard her name and Fauna's voice. It made her stop. "Fauna," she smiled as she looked to her dear friend. It was better than she thought it was to see her. "It's been far too long," she said as she approached. A moment of hesitation unsure if she should hug her. |
