Madam Williams smiled at the student before her.
"Of course, Mister Pepper. Bring me that note and I will have those books for you," she said with a wide smile. "Again, if you have problems, with the professor, let me know and I can talk to him myself. I understand he can be a bit... rough around the edges." She sent the boy a wink and marked the books as taken out from the library.
"Go on now! I look forward to your studies!" she waved him off and returned to her reading, peeking over her book at the students in the library to be sure they were behaving.

Hogwarts Library / Re: [23 Mar] Book and BoneJanuary 01, 2022, 12:41:12 PM Miss Williams didn't take the note. "I'm very impressed and proud that you reached out to someone so high up at Saint Mungos. The references provided are even more special for that reason. Trust that I believe you and I understand. Healing is a fantastic and underappreciated field. However, I request permission from professors who are more aware of your skills rather than just your aspirations" she said kindly. "It is nothing against you or the Deputy Head Healer of St Mungo’s Hospital, but they are unlikely to know fourth year students and their capabilities. Speak with Professor Malfoy, see if he will provide you a note. Explain your reasoning. If he refuses to even hear you out, come to me and I will speak to him on your behalf. You need to make the first attempt though."
She smiled and sent a nod to the Ravenclaw before her, sad to be blocking from certain books, but she had seen first hand knowledge of people studying and attempting things beyond their thoughts and capabilities. 3
Hogwarts Library / Re: [23 Mar] Book and BoneJanuary 01, 2022, 12:08:02 PM "Oh! Hello Mister Pepper! I am well, I hope you are as well. A bit early to be in the library, but knowledge waits for no one!" The Librarian replied and chuckled, as she took the list from him. "Now. Let's see what you have for me. Alright. Let's see..."
She pulled out a quill and began to make notes, mumbling as she did so. "Flaming Bat Bogeys we don't have. I'm afraid too many students, Ravenclaws included, tried to cure themselves instead of going to the nurse. Depending on your reasons for wanting it," she raises an eyebrow at the student before her, "I could likely write a letter to the bookstore on your behalf. The Healer's Helpmate we don't have for the same reasons. History's Blisters - A Poxtionary we definitely have" she waved her wand and a book came flying into her hand which she placed on the desk. "Common Magical Ailments and Afflictions we have" she waved her wand again. "Now Golpalott's Third Law is covered in NEWT level potions, so I believe Advanced Potion-Making references it, though you may want to ask your Potions Professor which book is the best reference to this. I'm also not the most comfortable handing this book to a fourth year." She looked a bit wary and put it to the side. "If you get me written permission for this book, I will lend it to you. For now, these two books should do," she smiled at him and handed him History's Blisters - A Poxtionary and Common Magical Ailments and Afflictions. She can tell he was disappointed, so she patted his hand gently. "You know I'm the last to limit knowledge, but I need to have permission. If you were to try to injure yourself accidentally with knowledge I provided, I could not forgive myself. Bring me a note with permission from the Nurse or the Potions Professor, and I will provide you the books you need." 4
Great Hall / Re: [March 30th - Evening Meal] Haunted By The Past [Open]July 17, 2021, 04:58:42 PM "That is beyond cruel, Headmaster," she shook he head, disgust on her face. "I understand he had failings in his youth, but he is an adult now and an accomplished Potions Master. Even if it were a youthful attempt to right past wrongs, it is not the students' place to do so."
She watched as he stood with the vial in hand. "I hope that you will punish the student accordingly, no matter the house. I would not like to move to my own brand of punishment of limiting access to the library until someone fesses up," she shook her head again. "That was truly cruel, sir." She sighed and instead of taking a seat to eat, left the Hall with a hand on her stomach, eyes on the door and not on any of those around her. Nausea at the cruelty of children, and adults. He was but a child at the time. 'I wonder what this prankster would do if they were in the same position he was placed in' she thinks to herself 5
Great Hall / Re: [March 30th - Evening Meal] Haunted By The Past [Open]July 12, 2021, 10:46:50 PM Terra gave the professor a light curtsy before stepping to the side. She inspected the room from the doors, but there were too many children, too much laughter to figure out who did it. Even some of the Professors were cracking a smile. She stepped back from the door with a grimace and straightened her robes, dusting them off. She saw the blonde head of the Wizard rushing to his rooms and frowned.
She stepped into the Hall and walked up to the table, taking a seat near the Headmaster. "What was that about, may I ask?" 6
Great Hall / Re: [March 30th - Evening Meal] Haunted By The Past [Open]July 12, 2021, 10:10:44 PM Terra Williams was running late, as usual getting caught up into reading. She turned the corner to enter the Great Hall, only to tumble as a firm chest rammed into her.
"OOPH!" she let out a grunt as she fell towards the fall. "Professor Mal-!" she said when she recognized the figure. Seeing his complexion and fast pace, plus the laughter in the great hall, she could easily figure what happened. Pranking the Professors, really? "Mind helping a lady up, Professor?" 8

Other If you have written other characters here: No If Yes, list them all: Is this a Primary or Secondary Character?: Primary Full Character Name: Terra Williams Character Birthday & Age: 8/2/69 - 42 City & Country of Birth: Chester/UK Blood Purity: Halfblood Alma Mater: Hogwarts Job/Position: Librarian Wand: 10 1/2 inches, Acacia, Supple, Spiraled Shaft, Hippogriff Talon Core - Not her original Wand, but one received in her travels Physical Description: Though young, Terra has silver hair. She stands at a rather regular height for a woman at 5'7" and has a curvy figure. Her eyes are Blue. She enjoys wearing bright colored accessories. Personality Description: Terra is very shy until she knows someone and then she has a hard time stopping a conversation. This also happens in the case where she finds someone who is interested in the same thing she is. When working she is rather serious, wanting to protect the books from damage so future generations of students would be able to learn from them as well - though she felt that a lot needed updating. She doesn't have many friends though - if any - and always feels awkward in social situations. She is an emotional person who can be hurt or offended easily. History: Terra was born to Ana and Gustav Williams in 1969. An only child, she was sheltered growing up in a household with two working parents. From the time she was young, she would be watched by an older neighbor, named Emil Rontiff, who had a wonderful book collection that she would read every time she visited. Even when she was old enough to be on her own, she would visit Mr Emil and read his books and help him with chores around the house. He did so much for her growing up, she didn't even have to be asked - and refused any type of payment beyond borrowing of a book for a week. When her parents learned she had magic, it was not a surprise to either of them. While both sets of grandparents were non-magical, or "muggle" as they called them, they were both magical. They feared for their safety during a Wizarding War years earlier and decided to live in the muggle world once they graduated instead. After that they would regularly visit the Wizarding World. Mostly to Diagon Alley through their fireplace where they set a floo connection to. Originally Terra thought the culture to be rather Archaic, but over time, and as she got older, she understood that this was their culture. Electronics would not work here, so why would they change a lot of their ways? As a student at Hogwarts, she was a Ravenclaw who was the odd one out. She wasn't teased like the legendary Luna Lovegood was, but it still was not the most pleasant of experiences. Graduating was wonderful and she took the time to explore a bit of the world, taking advantage of any summer internship opportunities she could take up. Over the years she worked at multiple Schools, Research Facilities, Government Offices, and City Libraries. She worked in muggle and magical locations, uncaring of the nature as long as there were books. She was lucky enough to earn an Apprenticeship at Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry which she recently completed. It was in a muggle location that she dropped her wand from her pocket and stepped on it! She went to the closest Wand Maker and found a really fantastic one, even better than the one she broke - but she would still miss the familiarity of her original. She was definitely of the mind that Olivander should use more wand cores. Her parents are both deceased now and she is tired of traveling. Her Apprenticeship is freshly complete and she wants to return to Hogwarts, to make sure no one was left out like she was and to spread the love of books to every young person she could. Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Librarian: As a Librarian, Terra keeps track of the condition of books, the organization of books, adding new books to the library, helping students and faculty find information. She keeps a charmed book updated with notes on who takes books out, which books are too damaged to be taken out, and which ones were releasing new editions. She receives regular updates from Flourish and Blotts on what new books are coming out and in turn provides the sellers with a list of the textbooks that professors plan on using that year so they could be sure to have enough in stock. For organization, she did most of it manually, loving the feel of the old bindings on her hands, she didn't trust using her wand in case someone surprised her. Elaborate on your expertise in your field: An avid book lover and many years experience in the libraries of many varied organizations and retailers. She is familiar with the charm on the master list and apprenticed with the Librarian at the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She is familiar with both the muggle and wizarding world and feels she would be an amazing support person for all students and faculty alike. Writing Sample: Terra's silvery hair gleams in the moonlight as she makes her way through Hogsmeade. A lot had been done in the years since the battle, but there were still visible scars. She steps in to Honeydukes and buys herself a couple of bars of chocolate. One for tonight and one (hopefully!) for celebrating her employment at her Alma Mater. Pockets with chocolate, she heads to the Three Broomsticks to get a room for the night. "Got your chocolate then, Miss Terra," the young server, Todd, asks as she sits at a table with a menu. "Shepherds pie is on tonight if that is what you are wanting. The cook is ready for anything you want though. He's ready for celebrating with you tomorrow too!" Terra chuckles, "Tell him not to get his hopes too high for a celebration! I have to have the interview first. I really hope I get it! But if I don't this chocolate bar is yours!" she pulls the second bar and waves it a bit. "Well. That's not fair. Now I'm not sure I want you to get the position!" he chuckles with a wink. She laughs a bit, bright eyed and excited for the next day. She savors the meal, her first at the Inn in many years, and heads to her room for the night. Hoping tomorrow would go well. Sum up your character in one paragraph: Terra Williams is a 42 year old Silver haired 5 ft 7 inch woman with a curvy figure. She is a Ravenclaw Alumni of Hogwarts and is hoping to get a job as a Librarian there after completing an Apprenticeship at Ilvermorny. She is an Animagus in the form of a gray cat with Hazel eyes, and a minor Occlumens that she uses mostly for helping remembering things she has read. Her patronus is cat as well. No, Professor McGonagall does not know these things. |
