Full Character Name: Allura Bythesea Character Birthday & Age: 31st of August 1996 (15) City & Country of Birth: Saltburn by the Sea, Yorkshire, England Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Halfblood House & Year: Slytherin 4th Year
Wand: Cedar Wood and Unicorn Hair, handle is slightly curved for a gentle grip on it. Otherwise it is gentle looking and pleasant to hold.
Physical Description: Allura has light blue eyes shining like a gentle lake, blond hair resting down from her head to her arms. Her body is lithe and slender with an elegant grace to it. Both her words and movements are graceful and gentle.
She typically likes to wear bright clothing, although not usually a fond of green she loves the style of Slytherin clothing. Just not all over herself. Preferring mostly blue summer outfits.
Since finding her charm and influence over others, she’s often seen about on warm days or inside in modest yet provocative outfits to get the best reactions from people.
Personality Description: She’s friendly to almost everyone she can be, wanting to make lots of connections and expanding the amount of people she knows, liking to introduce people and get them together. She likes to see people having a good time and to that she tends to get fairly bubbly and excitable to those around her. Which can accidentally make her the centre of attention when she’s trying to cheer people up despite the fact she dislikes having so many eyes watching her.
On the inside, she just likes being around people, however this comes with the side fact that she is never really sure if people just tolerate her due to her happy and excited attitude or if she really has friends. Often times feeling like she is a burden on them or that she annoys them. She struggles with thinking what she really wants to do in life and debating over if there is more she could be doing to enjoy life.
She found that she rather enjoys the reactions on people from being playful or flirting with them, not only does it make a good way of telling who they are to her. But it can be funny at some of the reactions. But this sadly has some side effects with her of never knowing if when people are looking at her if they like her or are just marvelling at her vela perfect looks.
She likes to take advantage of her charms to get others to do her bidding if she does not want to do things herself or needs to persuade someone to let her look at their test sheets or help with her homework. She’s found eye batting to be an effective tool against studying. Although despite the fact she may use it quite often, she doesn't often tell people about her Veela heritage or her gift, there surely isn't a reason to tell people about it right? She also is not fond of her birthday, it is one day short of being in the year above and she finds herself often thinking she would do better with those ahead of her.
History: Allura’s ancestry could be dated back hundreds of years. Her family held some prominence as a minor pureblood family, that changed during the start of the British Empire, with her family spreading about the globe. Some remnants of the Family tried to stick to its pureblood ways but they dwindled to only a couple of children, one of which married a Muggleborn the other a Half Blood.
Several generations down from the child that married a Half Blood, the family started taking its previous pureblood heritage as a point of pride, attempting to resume its pureblood ways. However it felt shame from the previous contamination in the blood line.
It is perhaps, unsurprising that during the Second Wizarding War, her family sided with the Dark Lord. Several members being killed or convicted after the first death of He Who Shall not be Named.
Her father managed to be let free after giving testimony on other Death Eaters. He then travelled the world to try to hide from the Ministry for the day that the Dark Lord would return.
In his time away he fell in love with a Veela. Who he brought back to England. Although no marrying they had Allura together.
However upon his resurrection and the continuation of the Second Wizarding War. He realized it would compromise his position in the Death Eaters, he attempted to remove both to protect his “pure”blood lineage. Her mother, who already was struggling to cope living with him and with the onset of the war. Had taken Allura and ran.
Both were protected by another wizarding family, themselves halfbloods and other then not being loyal to the Dark Lord, were otherwise safe. It was here that her mother fell in love again, this time to someone who wouldn’t kill them over foolish notions of purity.
After the war Allura was raised by her mothers in a small town in the country, not knowing of her father or what he tried to do. But knowing to avoid the topic, if it upset her birthmother to such an extent then she knew it wasn’t something she wanted to know.
Upon going to Hogwarts Allura has managed to grow into herself better, it wasn’t that she didn’t have trouble being around her parents, or that she was unpopular. If anything she did well making friends growing up. But it wasn’t until she had the freedom of Hogwarts that she managed to develop.
She’s typically been good in classes if not a bit too enthusiastic on subjects, and loud when things she does goes well. As everyone started getting older she found herself enjoying the sight of boys in class squirm when she flirted with them or go red at compliments. This caused a minor amount of trouble when she found out about the Veela charm and had a valentines with more chocolate then she knew what to do with and some…poorly written poems, recited by the letter.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Allura fits in through her perceived “pure blood” heritage regardless of its lie, she likes to manipulate others in ways to make them meet or get along, using her cunning to get people to become friends. While also making sure to manipulate others into doing as she likes and to help her get through educationally or in doing errands.
Writing Sample:
Sum up your character in one paragraph: Half Veela with a family heritage built on anger and lies that should be all forgotten after the Second Wizarding War. A heritage she does not know about. She appears happy and very friendly, but on the inside is less optimistic then what she shows on the outside by a long shot. Also likes to charm the metaphorical pants off people for free snacks and educational help.

Special Ability: Veela Charm
What level is this ability at?: Intermediate
At what age did your character gain this ability?: Birth
How did they learn or hone this ability?: Been practicing on boys since 12 at making them flush or keeping them around her. Has kept on the downlow to influence only a person or two at a time as she's honed it over the next few years.
Describe how the Special Ability influences their life. What do they use it for?: Who doesn't like having people running around and doing their bidding? Allura has been using the ability to get her way on others in her year or in her house, suffice to say she wants some of the chewing gum that boy has and he would be more then happy to please her by offering the entire pack of it.
Who's to blame her for getting some test answers or homework help when the boys are just throwing themselves at her feet for some of her attention? Is it a crime to be a magnet for romance and attention?
She uses her Veela charm semi frequently to get people to help her through life. Either be it to get help with class work, to get a better partner in class, so she wouldn't have to pick up that...smelly thing off the floor in class. If its something she can't be asked to do but needs done, why shouldn't she use her gifts?
Although it is prone to slip now and then and get the attention of people when she doesn't want it.
Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability: Allura is able to make people who are interested in girls attracted to her, it will run off of course but she can use it to hold a room captive in her trance.
Of course also how they act is dependent on how they would act to someone they are heavily attracted to. But she would appear just oh so dreamy that pleasing her may just be a good thing to do.
The time on how long it effects someone can vary but it can last for hours before it will wear off.
In general she will appear attractive and almost perfect looking whether she is using the charm or not due to strong heritage of mother being a pureblooded Veela.
As a downside to her attraction effects being like a passive ability and strongly entrancing when she does use them. She didn't inherit the ability to turn into a half bird, or any sort of fire ability. Though when angry or in a state of distress her screams can shake glass.
