Plot:Unrequited Obsession
Niobe and Dom go way back. Back when he was fresh in the news as a convict turned Pro Quidditch beater. He was young, tasty and exciting. And then they found out they were horrible for each other and split. That is until they both made the mistake of talking to each other again. Now Niobe's trying to shake him off, despite temptation. And Dom? Well he's not someone who shakes easy.

The Distant Past
Turns out they were not meant for sweet matrimony, to put it mildly. They'd posed for cameras, attended parties together, but it all ended explosively and Niobe swore off men for quite some time.

She'd been single for ages and bored out of her mind. She could imagine the head-lines, spinning into the foreground like some sort of old movie, featuring her face and Dom's. And damnit if he wasn't exactly her type. Dark. Rough. Famous. Would it count as a relapse if she didn't have breakfast in the morning?Niobe Thursby
"Have it your way, pet," he said grittily. "I'll just see you when you have another itch, then." He slammed the door behind him, careful not to let it hit him on the arse on his way out.Dominik Wiedman

Dominik paced back and forth anxiously a few steps, throwing his cigarette on the ground to add to the pile. When he went for another shot of heal-me whiskey, however, pressing the bottomless flask against his lips, he only felt a few dribbles drop down his tongue. Apparently a bottomless thing only held as much as you put into it, and that meant that Dominik had just had himself a whole bottle. He cursed vehemently, tossing it across the street in an overthrow befitting his fit of frustration. It crashed against the asphalt, presumably dented, and bounced over to rest in Niobe's little lawn.Dominik Wiedman
“But, if you like her-- if you love her--” She thought over her words more carefully now, deciding a spit-fire, cheeky tongue was not what her moody friend needed. Whiskey could only get one so far. She took a sip of her own whiskey-laced coffee. “You have to take that chance, right? You only live once.” Why not live fast and live hard?
“Women don’t have knobs to think with, Dom, that’s what she means. We’re craftier than you.” She tilted her head, studying him closer yet, smirking as she tugged him into the universal boat of ‘you,’ the collective man. “But you’re smart. You know you are. I know you are. She obviously does, too, or she wouldn’t have bothered to insult you.”
Finally, the young woman let go of his shoulder. “Come on, grab your coat. Some practice will clear your head before we eat.” She pushed herself from the couch, and took another deep sip, draining the mug in one swift go.Laney Irving
"There was a meeting at the Black Chimaera 'bout a month ago," he said. "And I have the inside scoop. Strictly a confidential informant, just as it always was... are those new leggings?"Dominik Wiedman
Keys prepped in her hand, Maggie walked faster, adrenaline pumping. Then the footsteps sounded - sharp crunches in the snow, speeding up behind her. Maggie whirled around, key held out in front of her like a wand. She wanted to see who or what was coming at her. It'd be different this time. She'd be smarter, faster, braver. No one was going to catch her or hold her at knife-point. But her mouth gaped open stupidly as she stared at Dominik. Dominik Wiedman, grinning at her in his creepy cloak as if he were Merlin's gift to the world. Announcing his presence, being cheery about it too. Asshole!Margaret Groust
“But, I suppose I have more respect for a woman like that...than some quidditch groupie who uses sex off script to get closer the fame she can’t achieve in her own right. Women like me don’t lie and let men make absolute fools of themselves for relationships that don’t exist just to get information out of them and maybe make a juicier headline”Dolly St. James
“What the hell do you know about it anyway?" she finally blurt out, lacking any substantive comeback. "It's none of your bloody business at the end of the day, is it! I don't recall that you've even met him more than twice, Maggie. So everything you're saying's just jealous rot for all I know. You can lecture me when you know something, how's that?”.Niobe Thursby
